The 75 th Indian Independence Day will be celebrated on 15 th August 2022. It is going to be big this year since the diamond jubilee celebrations are on the way. The Indian army, the freedom fighters whom we lost, and some of whom are still alive, and the Indian culture and history will be nurtured and celebrated this year as well.      

It was Shri Narendra Modi, our Prime Minister, who started the official Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on 12th March 2021, starting the journey from Sabarmati Ashram. In order to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence, he started off a 75-week-long festival.  This is supposed to continue for 75 long weeks till the 75th Indian Independence Day and will extend another year to end on 15th August 2023.

Mahatma Gandhi began the Dandi Yatra on 12th March 1930. He started the march from the Sabarmati Ashram, keeping in mind the cause of awakening self-reliance and self-respect in his nation. Incidentally, our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, started the symbolic Dandi Yatra on this very day in 2021. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav marked the beginning of the revival of Indians’ journey towards self-reliance and self-respect.

The Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Din Tiranga Campaign 2022

The Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Din Tiranga campaign aims to instil a sense of pride and love for our nation in the citizens, who will keep a tricolour flag in their houses 365 days of the year. This seems like a great initiative to keep reminding the citizens that they live in a colourful nation breeding love, unity, and diversity. 

The campaign is urging all Indian citizens to start a mass movement to commemorate our 75th Independence Day. They can do this by hoisting or putting up tricolour flags in their homes and putting up tricolour images as their profile pictures on social media handles.  

Previously, the Tricolour flag could only be hoisted between Sunrise and sunset. However, this year it is not the same scenario. People are allowed to hoist the flag all day long. 

The Flag Code for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022 

Following are some of the rules laid down by the Indian Government in 2021 for the hoisting and display of the Indian tricolour flag from then onwards:

The flag shall be either hand spun, hand woven, or machine made using cotton/polyester/wool/silk khadi bunting. 

Any member of the public, private, or educational organisation can hoist or display the national flag on all days and occasions, be it ceremonious or otherwise. 

The flag can be hoisted and displayed day and night if it is an open area where people can watch.

The flag can be of any size, but it has to be rectangular in shape with a length-to-width ratio of 3:2.

In a time of display, the national flag needs to be positioned appropriately and should appear distinctly.

People should not display a damaged or dishevelled flag.

No other flags should be hoisted or displayed from the masthead where the Indian national flag is hoisted. 

There should be no other flag or bunting hoisted above or side by side with the Indian national flag.  

No other citizens, except dignitaries like the President, the Vice-President, the Prime Minister, Governors, etc., should not fly the national flag on their vehicles. 

The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a government initiative to commemorate the 75th or diamond jubilee year of Indian Independence Day , where the festivities will continue for 75 weeks until 15th August 2023, which is a year from now. This is a great approach to instil a sense of love, respect, pride, and responsibility towards the nation in Indian citizens, kids and adults alike. 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. It is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India this far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable the vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-dependent India).

The official journey of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on 12 th March 2021 which started a 75-week countdown to our 75 th anniversary of independence and will end post a year on 15 th August 2023.

On 12 th March 1930, Mahatma Gandhi started Dandi March from Sabarmati Ashram for the awakening self-reliance and self-respect in the country. On this very day in 2021, the symbolic Dandi Yatra was started by our PM, Mr Narendra Modi, marking the revival of our journey of self-reliance and self-respect thus beginning Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The Mahotsav symbolizes the awakening of the nation, the festival of fulfilling the dream of good governance and of global peace and development.

Aim of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

The aim of celebrating the Mahotsav is to create a vision for India in 2047. The Mahotsav is being celebrated on the basis of its five pillars: Struggle for independence, ideas of 75 years, achievements of 75 years, actions of 75 years and resolutions of 75 years. These pillars are meant to make the younger generation aware of the history and struggle for independence.

It will also inspire them to move forward and realize the dream of an independent India. Amrit Mahotsav is a tribute to our freedom fighters and the Indian freedom struggle.

Various social and cultural programmes will be organised at the festival along with demonstrations of technological and scientific achievements. Hence, the Mahotsav will be celebrated as ‘Jan Utsav’ i.e. the festival of the people of India in the spirit of ‘Jan Bhagidaris’ i.e. we are all partners and stakeholders in the development of our country.

Themes of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

The government of India has proposed the themes for Amrit Mahotsav in a way that they are further developed into sub-themes. Let’s take a look at them.

Freedom Struggle: Commemorating milestones in history, unsung heroes, etc.

The theme broadcasts the commemoration initiatives under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It helps bring alive stories of unsung heroes whose sacrifices have made freedom a reality for us and also revisits the milestones, freedom movements etc. in the historical journey to 15 August 1947.

The sub-themes for this theme are:

1. Movements & Struggles freedom movements

2. Forgotten Heroes; Stories of Unsung heroes, freedom fighters

3. Milestones; key milestones during the freedom struggle and

4. Ideas-ideas that inspired the struggle for independence

Programmes under this theme include Birsa Munda Jayanti (Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas), Declaration of Provisional Government of Free India by Netaji, Shaheed Diwas etc.

Ideas@75: Celebrating ideas and ideals that have shaped India

The theme focuses on programmes and events inspired by ideas and ideals that have shaped us and will guide us as we navigate through this period of Amrit Kaal (25 years between India@75 and India@100).

The pages of the present have started to turn over and as we know a new era is unfolding. The strength of our convictions will determine the longevity of our ideas.

The sub-themes under this theme are:

1. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

3. Innovation, Peace & Unity

4. Ideas of India

5. Development

6. Sustainability

Events and programmes under this theme include popular, participatory initiatives that help bring alive India’s unique contribution to the world. These include events and initiatives such as Kashi Utsav dedicated to Hindi literary luminaries from the land of Kashi, Post Cards to Prime Minister wherein more than 75 lakh children are writing their vision of India in 2047 and their impressions of unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle.

Revolve@75: Reinforcing commitments to specific goals and targets

This theme focuses on our collective resolve and determination to shape the destiny of our motherland. The journey to 2047 requires each one of us to rise up and play our part as individuals, groups, civil society, institutions of governance etc.

Only through our collective resolve, well-laid-out action plans and determined efforts will the ideas translate into actions.

1. India 2.0; Vision for India in 2047

2. Sector-specific aspirations

3. Involve all sections; Youth, Students, Entrepreneurs, Diaspora, etc.

4. Articulation of goals and targets for the above

Events and programmes under this theme include initiatives such as Constitution Day, Good Governance Week etc. that help bring alive our commitment towards the ‘PLANET AND PEOPLE’ while being driven by a deep sense of PURPOSE.

Actions@75: Highlighting steps being taken to implement policies and actualise commitments.

This theme triggers all the efforts that are being undertaken to help India take its rightful position in the new world order emerging in a post covid world by highlighting the steps being taken to implement policies and actualise commitments.

It is driven by PM Modi’s clarion call of - SABKA SAATH. SABKA VIKAS. SABKA VISHWAS, SABKA PRAYAS (Everyone's support, Everyone's development, Everyone's faith, Everyone's effort).

The sub-themes of the theme are:

1. Swachha Bharat

3. Atmanirbhar Bharat

4. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat

Achievement@75: Showcasing evolution and progress across different sectors

This theme focuses on marking the passage of time and all our milestones along the way. It is intended to grow into a public account of our collective achievements as a 75-year-old independent country with a legacy of 5000+ years of ancient history.

Making Bharat Vishwa Guru

Bharat (India) has a history of thousands of years. It has been “the Vishwa Guru” of the world for centuries. Being one of the ancient civilizations and knowledge centres in the world, Bharat lived the glory of global leadership socially, culturally, intellectually and politically. It is the land where Vedas & Upanishads were scripted. The greatness, identity, wealth, experience, and knowledge of India are incomparable.

‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by flagging off ‘Dandi March’ from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad on 12th March, 2021. The celebrations started 75 weeks before our 75th anniversary of Independence and will end on 15th August, 2023.

Department of Higher Education and Department of School Education & Literacy have planned various activities under ‘आज़ादी का अमृत महोत्सव’.

Launch of India@75 celebrations (3 May 2021) - Embassy of India in Brasilia

On 03 May 2021, Embassy of India in Brasilia formally launched the India@75 celebrations in Brazil. The inaugural event was graced by Senator Nelson Trad (Guest of Honour), Fed Dep Daniel Coehlo (Guest of Honour), and Amb. Márcia Donner Abreu, Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Guest of Honour). A special congratulatory video message by Federal Deputy Vinicius Carvalho, President India-Brazil Parliamentary Friendship Group was also screened on this occasion. 2. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Suresh Reddy spoke on the notable features and the values on which the movement itself was based and the vision of its leadership - that of a democratic, civil libertarian and secular India, based on a self-reliant, egalitarian social order and an independent foreign policy. Speaking on the 75 years of independence, the Prime Minister said, "The 75th Independence Day will be the celebration of the spirit of freedom struggle and the reflection of the feeling of sacrifice. It will have a glimpse of the pride of ancient India and the glow of modern India as well." 3. On the occasion, the video on “Azadi ki Amrut Mahotsav’, a short video clip of the revolutionary Indian freedom fighter Mangal Pandey and a video on ‘India the Spirit of Freedom’ was also shown. Local Bharatanatyam dancer Ms Mirabai also performed on the occasion.

Webinar ‘‘Indian Independence Movement - Retrospective and Prospective Reflections on Society, Culture and Religion” (23 April 2021)

A part of the celebrations of India@75, on 23 April 2021, Embassy of India in Brasilia organised a webinar titled ‘‘Indian Independence Movement: Retrospective and Prospective Reflections on Society, Culture and Religion”. 2. The webinar began with the ‘Shanti Mantra’ and followed by the video of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahtosav’. In his address on the title of the webinar, Ambassador Reddy complimented the speakers for the excellent topics they had chosen adding that the conversation is ideally suited in the context of the present-day pandemic as we are all forced to pause and ponder to appreciate and value life better and the kind of future we aspire to. Ambassador also elaborated on the India@75 celebrations which is aimed at showcasing the advances India has made since independence under difficult circumstances and about our vision and resolve to make India regain its lost glory in the next 25 years in the spirit of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam. 3. Other panel speakers included Prof. Carlos Gohn, Professor, Department of Literature, Federal University of Minas Gerais who spoke on “Sri Aurobindo: Socio-Political Engagement and Spiritual Quest”; Prof. Cláudio Pinheiro, Professor, Department of History, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro who spoke on “From India to Latin American and the World: Indian Intellectual and Political Thought on the Margins and Subalternity” and prominent Indologist Prof. Dilip Loundo, Department of Religious Studies, Federal University of Juiz de Fora-MG who spoke on “The Concept of Rna (Debt) in India Tradition: Independence, Interdependence and Existence”.

Webinar: "Indian spirituality and concept of non-violence" (07 May 2021)

As part of the India@75 celebrations, the Embassy organised a webinar titled "Indian spirituality and concept of non-violence" on 7 May 2021. The event was addressed by Ambassador Suresh Reddy and also saw participation of speakers including Elson Gomes, Honorary Consul General of India in Belo Horizonte; Prof. Lúcia Helena Galvão, Professor of Philosophy with Nova Acrópole; Prof. Gloria Arieira, President of Vidya Mandir. Prof. Gloria is the recipient of India’s 4th highest Civilian Award, the Padma Shri.

Talk on KARMA & KARMA YOGA by Swami Nirmalatmananda, President of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Movement in Brazil, Sao Paulo (30 June 2021)

As part of India@75 celebrations, on 30 June 2021, Embassy of India in Brasilia organised a Talk on Karma and Karma Yoga with the support of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Brasilia Centre. The main speaker of the event was Swami Nirmalatmananda, President of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Movement in Brazil. Ambassador Suresh Reddy, in his remarks, spoke about the values of work and its association with the Indian philosophy of karma. The Head of the Vedanta Centre in Brasilia Ms. Livia Borges also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the activities of the Centre and touched upon the philosophy of Karma. Swami Nirmalatmananda in a detailed presentation explained the concept of Karma and Karma Yoga. A short video on ‘Sardar Patel – A Nation Stands United’ was screened on the occasion.

India-Brazil Friendship Cricket Match (24 July 2021)

As part of India@75 celebrations, on 24 July 2021, Embassy of India in Brasilia organised a cricket match with the Brasilia Cricket team at the iconic Esplanada in Brasilia. Ambassador Suresh Reddy inaugurated the friendship cricket match and spoke about the significance of India@75 celebrations. The event was graced by Mr. John Lander who had founded the Brasilia Cricket Club in 1989. The Embassy team and the Brazilian team played a game of 20-20 cricket, with the Indian side winning the game.

Launch of India@75 Celebrations,Consulate General of India Sao Paulo (15 April 2021)

Consulate General of India, Sao Paulo and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Sao Paulo launched the celebrations of 75 years of Independence of India on 15 April 2021, with a day-long celebration of Indian culture at Museum of Immigration in Sao Paulo. The event was organised in collaboration with the State Government of Sao Paulo. Consul General, Amit Kumar Mishra inaugurated the event and highlighted the importance of the celebration of 75 years of India´s Independence in his opening remarks. He talked about the significant role played by the freedom fighters in India´s Freedom struggle and creating a roadmap for growth and progress that helped India develop as an Independent Nation. During his address, Consul General also highlighted the phenomenal growth shown by India in the last 75 years. Ms. Alessandra Almeida, Executive Director, Museum of Immigration also joined the virtual opening ceremony and congratulated everyone on 75 years of India’s Independence. The cultural event started with a Bharatnatyam, classical Indian dance performance by Ms. Iara Ananda Romano. Ms. Iara performed ‘Krishna Padam: Kannan Vara Kanane’ which was an intricately crafted lyrical performance that depicted the outpouring of emotions by the Nayika. The Bharatnatyam performance was followed by a sitar recital by Fabio Kidesh, who delighted the audience with a rendition of Raga Bhairavi. Meeta Ravindran, a classical Indian musician settled in Brazil recited the Ganesha and Gayatri Vandana, followed by the Kathak dance presentation of Saraswati and Rudrashtakam Stotram by Gyaneshree Karahe. The ‘India Day’ celebrations at the Museum of Immigration was a combination of performances and workshops. The workshops included a special ‘Bhangra’ dance workshop by Ms. Disha Malani; Culinary workshop sharing recipes for semolina pudding ‘Suji Halwa’ and Chicken Tikka Masala was presented by Ms. Deepali Bavaskar, the chef of the local Indian Restaurant ‘Samosa and Company’. The celebration also included a Yoga workshop by Mr. Sagar Karahe. The celebration ended with the screening of the Bollywood film ‘Neerja’ through the online platform #CulturaEmCasa.

Indian Music Concert 'Musial Ecstacy' by CGI, Sao Paulo (17 July 2021)

As a part of celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on 17 July CGI, Sao Paulo and SVCC, Sao Paulo organized an virtual music concert titled ‘Musical Ecstasy’ to celebrate the rich music heritage of India. The concert included artists Nilimesh Chakrabarty on Tabla and Arnab Bhattacharya on Sarod. The artists joined us Live from India and the event was transmitted on the social media platforms of the Cultural Centre.

Webinar ' Tagore: The Indian Polymath' by CGI, Sao Paulo (7 May 2021)

As a part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ CGI, Sao Paulo celebrated the 160th Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on 7 May, 2021 through a webinar titled ‘Tagore: The Indian Polymath’ in collaboration with the Department of Letters and Modern Language, University of Sao Paulo (USP). The event was attended by Ambassador of India to Brazil, Mr. Suresh Reddy; Consul General of India, Mr. Amit Kumar Mishra; Prof. Laura P. Z. Izarra, Professor, Department of Modern Languages, University of Sao Paulo; Prof. Adrian Pablo Fanjul, Dean, Department of Modern Languages (USP); Prof. Antonio Menezes, Department of Oriental Languages (USP) and Puja Kaushik, Director, SVCC. The speakers for the event included experts on Rabindranath Tagore from India and Brazil. The panel of speakers comprised Prof. Amrit Sen, former Head of Department of English, Visva-Bharati University; Prof. Dilip Loundo from Federal University of Luiz De Fora and Prof. Marcus Wolff from Department of Music, University of Rio De Janeiro (UNIRIO). The event paid tribute to Gurudev Rabindranth Tagore and highlighted his contribution as a poet, writer, painter, philosopher, and social reformer and the seminal role played by Gurudev during India’s Freedom Struggle. The Consulate also invited Ms. Tiyasa Chatterjee from Kolkata for a special performance on Rabindra Sangeet.

Webinar 'Celebrating Rich Indian Art in Brazil' by CGI, Sao Paulo (18 May 2021)

As a part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ CGI, Sao celebrated the International Museum Day on 18 May in collaboration with the Oscar Neymar Museum (MON - Museu Oscar Neymar), Curitiba. The MON Museum is the only museum in Brazil which has a permanent display of Asian Art. The speakers for the event included Consul General of India to Brazil, Mr. Amit Kumar Mishra; Ms. Juliana Vosnika, CEO and Director, MON and Former Ambassador, Prof. Fausto Godoy, donor of the Asian Art collection to MON. The event highlighted the key aspects of the Indian Art at the museum highlighting the diversity in Indian Art.

Celebration of World Culture day by CGI, Sao Paulo (21 May 2021)

As a part of the celebration of India@75, CGI, Sao Paulo celebrated the World Culture Day in collaboration with UNESCO Brazil on 21 May 2021. The participants for the virtual event included cultural experts from India and Brazil and created an opportunity to present the cultural differences and similarities between the two counties. The event speakers included Ambassador of India to Brazil, Mr. Suresh Reddy, who presented the opening remarks; Mrs. Isabel de Paula, Coordinator Cultural Sector, UNESCO, Brazil and Brazilian artists Bianca Gismonti and Julio Falavigna. Director General, ICCR, Mr. Dinesh K. Patnaik participated in the event through a recorded video message. The event included talks and cultural presentation.

Talk on 'Architectural Wonders of India' by CGI, Sao Paulo (20 May 2021)

As a part of celebration of India@75 CGI, Sao Paulo organised an online lecture by Brazilian Architect Prof. Dimas Bertolotti titled ‘Architectural Wonders of India’. Prof. Bertolotti gave a presentation on the best visited UNESCO World Heritage sites of India.

Talk on ´Importance of Lord Buddha and his teachings during the time of the pandemic' by Buddhist Monk Monja Coen (25 May 2021)

As a part of celebration of India@75 on 25 May, CGI, Sao Paulo celebrated Buddha Purnima or Vesak through a talk on ´Importance of Lord Buddha and his teachings during the time of the pandemic' by the well-known Brazilian Nun, Monja Coen. Nun Monja Coen highlighted how the concepts of Unity, Solidarity and Compassion are the main tools that will help the world deal with these difficult times.

Celebrations of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in Brasilia (2 October 2021)

On 2 October 2021, the Embassy of India in Brasilia celebrated the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at the City Park, Brasilia. The event saw the participation of Ms. Vanessa Mendonça, Tourism Secretary of Federal District of Brasilia and was attended by members of the Mission along with their families, Indian community and Friends of India. 2. On this occasion, the dignitaries offered floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s bust which was donated by the Government of India and was installed in January 2020 in the City Park. In his remarks, Shri. B.C. Pradhan, Deputy Chief of Mission highlighted the importance of teaching and messages of peace and non-violence of Gandhiji in today’s world. As part of India@75 celebrations, on 24 July 2021, Embassy of India in Brasilia organised a cricket match with the Brasilia Cricket team at the iconic Esplanada in Brasilia. Ambassador Suresh Reddy inaugurated the friendship cricket match and spoke about the significance of India @75 celebrations. The event was graced by Mr. John Lander who had founded the Brasilia Cricket Club in 1989. The Embassy team and the Brazilian team played a game of 20-20 cricket, with the Indian side winning the game.

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (India75 celebrations), the Embassy of India in Brasilia organised an exclusive yoga session on 12 August 2021 with H.E. Mrs. Michelle Bolsonaro, First Lady of Brazil as the Chief-Guest. The event was also attended by H.E. Amb Marcia Donner Abreu, Secretary for Bilateral Negotiations in Asia, Pacific and Russia, Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ms. Claudia Martins de Almeida e Souza Ferreira, Chief of Service, International Relations of the Federal Senate, prominent Brazilian friends of India, yoga teachers and Embassy diplomats' spouses. Mrs. Bolsonaro was accorded a traditional welcome and performed a 45-minute yoga asanas wearing the India75 T-shirt, conducted by Yoga master Thadeu Martins. Honoring the Indian culture, she wore an Indian Saree on the occasion and planted a Neem tree in the Embassy premises. She also enthusiastically joined the gathering in dancing to a Bollywood song. Mrs. Bolsonaro was presented with a Gift, a book on yoga in Portuguese and the animated video of yoga Asanas in Portuguese.

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Celebrations of the 75th Independence Day of India in Brasilia (15 & 17 August 2021)

On the occasion of the celebrations of 75th Independence Day of India, President Jair Bolsonaro sent congratulatory letters to President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his letters, President Jair Bolsonaro said that with its significant vaccine and medicine production capacity, India has a recognised important role in worldwide efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and hoped to intensify even further the bilateral cooperation to overcome this great challenge. Referring to his State visit to India in January 2020, President Bolsonaro said that the strategic partnership between Brazil and India is growing stronger and the Agreements, signed during his visit, are deepening of bilateral political and economic relations as well as cooperation in various other areas. With India and Brazil as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council in 2022, President Bolsonaro hoped that this will open another dialogue front on peace and security themes while also reinforcing the common demand for the multilateral reform. 2. To celebrate the Independence Day, the Embassy of India in Brasilia organised a special evening reception on 17 August 2021. The high-profile event was attended by Brazilian Ministers namely, Gen. Walter Souza Braga Netto, Minister of Defence; Marcelo Queiroga, Minister of Health; Joaquim Alvaro Pereira Leite, Minister of Environment; and Roberto Campos Neto; President of Central Bank of Brazil. The event also joined by Senators and Federal Deputies (i.e. members of the Brazilian Parliament); senior Brazilian bureaucrats and armed forces representatives; members of the foreign diplomatic community; media journalists; Indian community and friends of India. 3. In his remarks, Ambassador highlighted the various new initiatives and schemes launched by the Government of India under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. He spoke about Green Hydrogen and the National Hydrogen Mission to make India a Global Hub for Green Hydrogen Production and Export. He added that the Mission will not only help India to make new progress in the field of energy self-reliance but will also become a new inspiration for Clean Energy Transition all over the world. Ambassador also mentioned the National Infrastructure Master Plan i.e. ‘Gati Shakti’ of more than USD 1.3 trillion (100 lakh crores rupees) which will lay the foundation of holistic Infrastructure and will lead to an integrated and holistic pathway to the Indian economy. He added that the development in all parts of India, be it eastern India, North-east, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, coastal belt or the tribal region, is all-inclusive, all-around and all-pervasive. He also said that the Government is preparing an e-commerce platform for products from the village entrepreneurs so that they will get a big market domestically and abroad, in tune with the mantra of Vocal for Local. He underscored that India has set a target of 450 GW of renewable energy by the end of this decade i.e. 450 GW by 2030 and of this, the target of 100 GW has been achieved ahead of schedule. He added that India has set a target of 10% ethanol blending in gasoline by 2022 and 20% ethanol blending by 2025, which will also help address the issue of pollution. 4. The Embassy also organised an exclusive yoga session on 12 August 2021 with H.E. Mrs. Michelle Bolsonaro, First Lady of Brazil as the Chief-Guest. She was accorded a traditional welcome and performed 45-minute yoga asanas wearing the India75 T-shirt. Honouring the Indian culture, she also wore an Indian Saree on the occasion and planted a Neem tree in the Embassy premises. 5. On 15 August 2021, the Embassy of India organised a Flag Hoisting Ceremony and India-Brazil Friendship Cycling rally. The event saw the participation of Paco Britto, Vice-Governor, and Vanessa Mendonça, Tourism Secretary of Federal District of Brasilia and was attended by members of the Mission along with their families, Indian community and Friends of India. Ambassador Shri. Suresh Reddy hoisted the National Flag which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Ambassador also read out the address of Hon'ble President of India to the Nation. 6. To mark the celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Embassy, in collaboration with the Federal District of Brasilia and cycling group “Squadra,” organised the India-Brazil Friendship Cycling Rally on 15 August 2021. The Cycle Rally included two routes of 25 km and 75 km and covered the major tourist attractions of Brasilia, promoting local tourism and spreading the message of a healthy lifestyle and sustainable mobility. About 150 people participated in the event.

Other speakers included Prof. Marco Lucchesi President of Brazilian Academy of Letters (recorded message); Prof. Shiv Kumar Singh, Lecturer of Indian Studies and Hindi at Faculdade de Letras, University of Lisbon, Portugal, Prof. Cláudio Pinheiro, Professor, Department of History, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Prof. Dilip Loundo, Professor of the Department of Religion Science of Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), Minas Gerais. Investing in child development is the key to building a better future for any nation. The values, education and health of children directly influence the social and economic indicators of countries and also shape its global standing. Hence, it is vital that children have access to civic, social and moral education; health care services and exposure to the latest developments across fields (scientific, technological, cultural, arts, educational etc.). While there have been significant improvements in childcare in India, there remains work to be done in many areas including health services, sanitation, education, especially for children in rural and tribal communities.

Tribal communities, pan India, have played a key role in conserving the rich culture and heritage of our country. Their contributions to freedom struggle have been highlighted through various initiatives under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

According to the 2011 consensus, the tribal population in India was 104 million, constituting 8.6% of the country’s population. The significant role of the tribal community in evolving narrative of India is well established, be it their contribution to the freedom struggle, field of sports or business.

Water is a life-sustaining natural resource. However, availability of water resources is limited and distributed unevenly, making many vulnerable to lack of it.

The Government of India, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has launched several unique campaigns such as Har Khet Ko Pani, Nadi Utsav, Amrit Sarovar to increase awareness about water conservation and revival.

On the occasion of the UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP26), Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the mission of “LiFE (Lifestyle for the Environment)” to engage individuals in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.

Historically traditional approaches to health based on our profound knowledge of ancient systems of medicine anchored in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy. Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy have also been an important part of the health and wellness narrative in India.

Inclusive development promotes fair opportunities for all, regardless of social and financial standing, with advantages accruing to each and every segment of society.

The orientation of the file can be either landscape or portrait. o The entry should be original and not previously published in print or any digital media. o The entry should not include copyrighted or trademarked images and logos. o Entries other than images Files i.e. Selfies/group Photographs will be disqualified from the competition.

Terms and Conditions 1. The competition is open only to the residents of J&K. 2. The entry must be original, not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, and must not infringe on the intellectual rights of any third party. 3. The entry must not contain provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content. 4. The winning entries would be the intellectual property of the Information Technology Department; J&K and the winners shall not exercise any right over it. 5. The winning entries may be used by the IT Department, J&K for promotional/ or display purposes, IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials, and for any other use as may be deemed appropriate. 6. The name/title/caption of the image(s) or PDFs should be original and must not infringe on the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party. 7. MyGov reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of this Contest and/ or Terms and Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria. However, any changes to the Terms and Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria, or the Contest’s cancellation will be updated/ posted on the MyGov platform. It would be the participant’s responsibility to keep themselves informed of any changes in the Terms and Conditions/Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria stated for this Contest. 8. The participant should ensure that their MyGov profile is accurate and updated since this will be used for further communication. This includes details such as name, photo, complete postal address, email ID, and phone number. Entries with incomplete profiles would not be considered. 9. All the entries received by MyGov would be assessed by a committee of judges for selecting the entries/logos. The decision of the Committee shall be final and binding. 10. Entries would be judged based on elements of creativity, originality, composition, technical excellence, simplicity, artistic merit, and visual impact and how well they communicate the need to be reflected.
