The basic story is about the mind game between a terrorist and a secret agent. Murugadoss comes up with an interesting screenplay that makes you glued to the screen all the time. The interesting aspect in this film is that the hero and villain doesn’t physically meet each other till the climax. And they try to outsmart each other with cold-blooded thinking all the time. To make this film more universal, Murugadoss also added the family angle and romance thread. The romance aspect of the film is also good.

Cinematography by Santosh Sivan is of top notch quality. Background music by Harris Jayaraj is good, but tunes for the songs should have been better. Dialogues are neat and editing is crisp. Action sequences' choreography is stylish. This film is made with slick production values.

Comedian, Bittiri Sathi has turned hero for the first time with a film called Tupaki Ramudu which has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Tupaki Ramudu(Satthi) is an orphan who always helps his villagers irrespective of him facing insults. Seeing his good nature, the villagers fix his wedding. But sadly, the girl puts a condition that she will only marry Ramudi if he gets educated in life. Left with no choice, Ramudu approaches Anita(Priya) to help him in his studies. In this process, they fall in love with each other. What will Satthi do now? What will happen to his other marriage proposal? Whom will Satthi marry? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

Bittiri Satthi makes a confident debut as an actor. He dances, fights, and does well in all the emotional scenes. He also mouths the Telangana slang with ease and carries the film on his shoulders.

Yet another highlight of the film is heroine Priya who did a good job in her role. She has good screen presence and did well in her key character. The actors who did the role of Satthi’s friends also did an impressive job. The message showcased in the film is also good.

Minus Points:

The basic point of the film is also quite silly. There is no seriousness in the plot and the first half is filled with scenes that have no seriousness at all. Upon this, forced comedy irritates the audience.

Certain scenes created to showcase Satthi in a comic role are bad and have been written in a disappointing manner. There was a good scope to elevate the content with the heroine’s role but he failed to do it. There are many unnecessary scenes that kill the mood of the viewers and make things tedious.

Technical Aspects:

The production values of the film are good. Editing is bad and does not have any seriousness. Lyrics are decent and so was the whole production design. The camerawork was decent and the music was just about okay. Coming to the director Prabhakar, he has done a pathetic job with the film. His narration lack seriousness as he makes a mess of the storyline.

On the whole. Bittiri Satthi’s debut as a solo hero is quite disappointing. Even though Satthi tries hard to entertain, the other factors in the film are boring and have been narrated in a silly and routine manner making this film a below-par flick this weekend. Ignore it happily.

'మత్తువదలరా' అనే ప్రామిసింగ్ మూవీతో హీరోగా పరిచయం అయ్యాడు కీరవాణి చిన్న కొడుకు శ్రీసింహా కోడూరి. కానీ ఆ తర్వాత అతను చేసిన తెల్లవారితే గురువారం.. దొంగలున్నారు జాగ్రత్త.. భాగ్ సాలే తీవ్రంగా నిరాశ పరిచాయి. ఇప్పుడతను 'ఉస్తాద్'తో ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చాడు. ట్రైలర్ చూస్తే సింహా గత చిత్రాలతో పోలిస్తే సినిమా మెరుగ్గా ఉంటుందనే ఆశలు రేకెత్తించింది. మరి నిజంగా ఆ అంచనాలను సినిమా అందుకుందేమో చూద్దాం పదండి.

సూర్య (శ్రీ సింహా) ఒక మధ్య తరగతి కుటుంబానికి చెందిన కుర్రాడు. చిన్నపుడే అతడి తండ్రి చనిపోతే తల్లి (అను హాసన్) అతణ్ని ప్రేమగా పెంచి పెద్ద చేస్తుంది. సూర్యకు చిన్నతనం నుంచే కొన్ని బలహీనతలుంటాయి. ఎత్తైన ప్రదేశాలంటే చాలా భయపడే అతను.. చిన్న విషయాలకు కూడా బాగా కోప్పడిపోతుంటాడు. అలాగే అతడికి నిలకడ కూడా ఉండదు. ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో అతను ఎంతో ఇష్టపడి కొనుక్కున్న సెకండ్ హ్యాండ్ బైక్.. తన జీవితంలోకి కొత్త వెలుగులు తెస్తుంది. అదొక వస్తువు అనే విషయం మరిచిపోయి.. దాంతో ఎమోషనల్ గా కనెక్ట్ అవుతాడు సూర్య. మేఘన (కావ్య కళ్యాణ్ రామ్) అనే అమ్మాయితో సూర్యకు పరిచయం.. ప్రేమ కూడా బైక్ వల్లే జరుగుతాయి. ఐతే అంతా సాఫీగా సాగిపోతున్న సమయంలో కెరీర్.. ప్రేమ లాంటి ముఖ్యమైన విషయాల్లో సింహాకు సవాళ్లు ఎదురవుతాయి. వాటిని సూర్య ఎలా అధిగమించాడన్నదే మిగతా కథ.

ఈ మధ్యే 'నేను స్టూడెంట్ సార్' అనే సినిమా ఒకటి వచ్చింది. అందులో హీరోకు ఐఫోన్ అంటే పిచ్చి. ఫోన్ కొని దానికి బుచ్చిబాబు అని పేరు పెట్టుకుని.. మనిషితో మాట్లాడినట్లు దాంతో మాట్లాడుతంటాడు. రేయ్ బుచ్చి బుచ్చి అంటూ దాంతో అనేక కబుర్లు చెబుతుంటాడు. ఈ వ్యవహారమంతా చాలా నాటకీయంగా.. చికాగ్గా అనిపించి సినిమాను తిప్పికొట్టారు ప్రేక్షకులు. ఇప్పుడు 'ఉస్తాద్' సినిమాలో హీరోకు.. అతడి బైకుకి ఇలాంటి రిలేషనే చూపించారు. పైగా సినిమా మొత్తం ఈ బైక్ తాలూకు ఎమోషన్ మీదే నడిపించారు. ఐతే ఇందులోనూ కొన్ని చోట్ల నాటకీయత కనిపించినా సరే.. హీరో-బైక్ ఎమోషన్ ను ప్రేక్షకులు ఫీల్ అయ్యేలా చేయడంలో కొత్త దర్శకుడు ఫణిదీప్ విజయవంతం అయ్యాడు. అతను ఎంచుకున్న పాయింట్.. కొన్ని ఎపిసోడ్ల వరకు 'ఉస్తాద్' బాగానే అనిపిస్తుంది. కానీ డెడ్ స్లోగా సాగే నరేషనే ఈ సినిమాకు అతి పెద్ద ప్రతికూలత. కథలో స్పష్టత.. కథనంలో వేగం ఉండి ఉంటే 'ఉస్తాద్' మంచి ఫీల్ గుడ్ మూవీ అయ్యేది. అవి లేక సోసో సినిమా చూసిన భావన కలుగుతుంది.

జీవితం పట్ల స్పష్టత లేని.. చిన్న చిన్న విషయాలకు కూడా భయపడిపోయే.. చికాకు పడే కుర్రాడు.. తన బలహీనతల్ని అధిగమించి విజేతగా నిలిచే కథ 'ఉస్తాద్'. హీరో పాత్రతో ఎమోషనల్ గా కనెక్ట్ చేయగలిగితే ఇలాంటి 'ఫెయిల్యూర్ టు సక్సెస్' స్టోరీలతో ప్రేక్షకులు ఈజీగా కనెక్టవుతారు. 'ఉస్తాద్'లో ఆ దిశగా మంచి ప్రయత్నమే జరిగింది. ఒక సామాన్యుడి కథను నిజాయితీగా చెప్పడానికి ప్రయత్నించాడు కొత్త దర్శకుడు ఫణిదీప్. ఈ సినిమాకు ఇంకో ప్లస్ పాయింట్.. ఫీల్ గుడ్ ఫ్యాక్టర్. పాత్రలు సహజంగా అనిపించడమే కాక.. వాటి మధ్య కాన్వర్జేషన్లు కూడా అంతే సహజంగా సాగిపోతాయి. మన లాంటి మనుషులనే తెర మీద చూస్తున్నట్లు అనిపిస్తుంది. హీరోతో పాటు.. అతడి తల్లి.. ప్రేయసి.. ఆమె తండ్రి.. ఇలా ముఖ్యపాత్రలన్నింటితోనూ రిలేట్ అవుతాం. వారి ప్రవర్తన.. సంభాషణలు అన్నీ కూడా నిజ జీవితంలో చూస్తున్నట్లే అనిపిస్తాయి. కాకపోతే సహజత్వం పేరుతో పెద్దగా డ్రామా.. మలుపులు లేకుండా నెమ్మదిగా కథనాన్ని నడిపించడమే మైనస్ అయింది. కథ ఎంతకీ ముందుకు సాగక ప్రేక్షకులు ఇబ్బంది పడాల్సి వస్తుంది.

'ఉస్తాద్' టేకాఫ్ కావడానికే చాలా సమయం పడుతుంది. హీరోయిన్ ఎంట్రీ ఇచ్చే వరకు కథనం నత్తనడకన సాగుతుంది. లవ్ స్టోరీ అంత ప్రత్యేకంగా అనిపించకపోయినా.. కొన్ని సీన్లు హుషారు పుట్టిస్తాయి. హీరో ఎత్తైన ప్రదేశాల పట్ల తన భయాన్ని పోగొట్టుకుని.. పైలట్ కావాలనే లక్ష్యాన్ని ఏర్పరుచుకునే ఎపిసోడ్ సినిమాలో స్టాండౌట్ గా నిలుస్తుంది. బడ్జెట్ పరిమితుల మధ్యే ఆ సన్నివేశాన్ని గొప్పగా చిత్రీకరించారు. దీని తర్వాత వచ్చే అరకు ఎపిసోడ్ ఎగుడు దిగుడుగా అనిపిస్తుంది. మొత్తంగా ప్రథమార్ధం ఓ మోస్తరుగా అనిపిస్తుంది. సగం వరకు పెద్దగా కదలికలు లేని కథ.. రెండో అర్ధంలో కొన్ని మలుపులు తిరుగుతుంది. హీరోకు కెరీర్ విషయంలో.. లవ్ విషయంలో ఎదురయ్యే సవాళ్ల నేపథ్యంలో డ్రామా ఒక మోస్తరుగా పండింది. హీరోయిన్ తండ్రితో హీరో గొడవ తాలూకు ఎపిసోడ్ ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. ఒక ఆడపిల్ల తండ్రి ఆలోచనలు ఎలా ఉంటాయి.. ఉడుకు రక్తంతో ఉన్న కుర్రాడు ఎలా మాట్లాడతాడు అన్నది సహజంగా చూపించారు. ఇక్కడి నుంచి హీరోకు సవాళ్లు మరింత పెరగడం.. అతడి సంఘర్షణ.. చివరికి అన్ని అడ్డంకులనూ అధిగమించి అతను విజేతగా నిలిచే వైనం.. ఈ క్రమాన్ని దర్శకుడు బాగానే చూపించాడు. చివరి 40 నిమిషాల్లో ఎమోషన్లు బాగా పండాయి. మధ్యలో వచ్చే బైక్ మెకానిక్ బ్రహ్మం ఎపిసోడ్ కూడా ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. కానీ పతాక సన్నివేశాలు మాత్రం సాధారణంగా అనిపిస్తాయి. ఎమోషన్లు ప్రధానంగా సాగే ఫీల్ గుడ్ సినిమాలను ఇష్టపడే వారు కాస్త ఓపిక చేసుకుంటే 'ఉస్తాద్' చూడొచ్చు. 'ఉస్తాద్'లో చెప్పాలనుకున్న విషయాన్ని దర్శకుడు ఇంకొంచెం క్లారిటీతో చెప్పి ఉంటే.. అనవసర సన్నివేశాలను పరిహరించి ఇంకొంచెం తక్కువ నిడివిలో క్రిస్ప్ గా సినిమా తీసి ఉంటే ఇది ఇచ్చే ఫీలింగ్ వేరుగా ఉండేది.

శ్రీ సింహా నటుడిగా మెరుగయ్యాడు. పెద్ద ఫ్యామిలీ నుంచి వచ్చినా.. మాస్ ఇమేజ్ కోసం చూడకుండా కథా ప్రధానమైన.. వైవిధ్యమైన సినిమాలు చేయాలన్న అతడి తపన మంచిదే. అతను పక్కింటి కుర్రాడి పాత్రలకు బాగా సూటవుతాడనిపిస్తుంది. విభిన్న భావోద్వేగాలు పలించే స్కోప్ ఉన్న పాత్రలో అతను బాగానే ఇమిడిపోయాడు. 'మత్తు వదలరా' తర్వాత పాత్ర.. నటన పరంగా అతడి బెస్ట్ 'ఉస్తాద్'యే. హీరోయిన్ కావ్య కళ్యాణ్ రామ్ మరోసారి తన ప్రతిభను చాటుకుంది. హీరోయిన్ లాగా కాకుండా కథలో ఒక పాత్రలో ఆమె ఒదిగిపోవడానికి ప్రయత్నించింది. తన పెర్ఫామెన్స్ సహజంగా అనిపిస్తుంది. హీరో తల్లి పాత్రలో అను హాసన్ ఆశ్చర్యపరిచింది. తన నటన ఆద్యంతం ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. రోహిణి తర్వాత ఇలాంటి పాత్రలకు ఆమె మంచి ఛాయిస్ అవుతుంది. కెప్టెన్ పైలట్ పాత్రలో గౌతమ్ మీనన్ ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు. బైక్ మెకానిక్ క్యారెక్టర్లో రవీంద్ర విజయ్ బలమైన ముద్ర వేశాడు. హీరో ఫ్రెండుగా శివ రవితేజ కూడా బాగానే చేశాడు. హీరో తండ్రిగా కొన్ని నిమిషాలు కనిపించే పాత్రలో వెంకటేష్ మహా ఓకే.

సాంకేతిక వర్గం:

టెక్నికల్ గా 'ఉస్తాద్' మెప్పిస్తుంది. అకీవా పాటల్లో మంచి ఫీల్ ఉంది. చాలా వరకు సినిమాలో బిట్ సాంగ్సే ఉన్నాయి. అవి సినిమాలో ఫీల్ ను పెంచడానికి ఉపయోగపడ్డాయి. నేపథ్య సంగీతం కూడా ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. పవన్ కుమార్ కెమెరా పనితనం బాగుంది. ఏవియేషన్ సంబంధిత సన్నివేశాల్లో బడ్జెట్ పరిమితులు కనిపించినప్పటికీ.. ఉన్నంతలో బాగానే తీశారు. రైటర్ కమ్ డైరెక్టర్ ఫణిదీప్ లో విషయం ఉంది. అతను ఎంచుకున్న కథ బాగుంది. కాకపోతే కథనంలో ఒక ఫ్లో ఉండేలా చూసుకోవాల్సిందే. తన నరేషన్ మరీ స్లో. కొన్ని సీన్లు ఎందుకున్నాయో అర్థం కాదు. స్క్రిప్టు మీద ఇంకొంచెం కసరత్తు చేస్తే.. టేకింగ్ లో వేగం పెంచితే ఫణిదీప్ దర్శకుడిగా మంచి ఫలితాలు రాబట్టగలడు.
