How to Present on Zoom: Google Slides and Powerpoint Presentation Guide & Tips
Presenting in front of your peers and superiors has to be one of the most daunting tasks ever. You’re never quite sure about the feedback you’d be getting, which only adds to the tension. However, in this pandemic season, the task of presenting has somehow gotten even more challenging. There are a lot of technical hurdles to overcome, which can seriously take the winds out of someone’s sail — especially if they are not very experienced on the matter.
Zoom, of course, has been the most popular video conferencing application over the last few months and offers a plethora of tools to put our minds at ease. Today, we’ll take you through all of them and even give you a couple of pointers to improve your presentation in Zoom.

What is Zoom Screen Share and why is it important?
Screen Share is one of the most used and most important features of Zoom. It allows you to demonstrate your thoughts, give your peers a glimpse of your ideas. You can either share an application window, your entire desktop, or even a whiteboard — the possibilities are limitless here.
You can also start a screen sharing session without jumping through hoops of creating a separate meeting. Simply click/tap on the ‘Share Screen’ button in the Zoom client — both PC and mobile — and you’re good to go.

Remember you’ll need a sharing key or meeting key for this to work. If you don’t have access to either, you must share your screen while you’re in a meeting.
To share your screen during a meeting, first, log in with the appropriate credentials and start a meeting. Then, hit the ‘Share Screen’ — ‘Share’ while on mobile — button right in the middle of the meeting options panel and what you want to share with the class.
We’ve covered the topic of screen sharing on Zoom quite extensively in a separate article. So, be sure to check that out .

How to present a Powerpoint PPT in Zoom?
Microsoft Office suite is, without a doubt, the most widely-used presentation applications on the planet. It’s been on our computers for ages and it’s likely to stay put for a considerable amount of time.
With that said, Zoom doesn’t straight up give you the option to load the Microsoft Office component in the application. Still, there’s a pretty straightforward method of presenting in front of the class.

You can achieve the desired results with the help of Zoom’s Screen Sharing feature — yes, the bit we covered in the previous section. It simply allows you to pick a window of your choice and share it with the class.
What’s even more awesome is that the participants could even pitch in and share their thoughts if they see fit. Alternatively, you can also share your entire desktop screen, which is the best way to get more screen real estate.
With the basics out of the way, let’s see how you can present a slide on Zoom.

1. Create a separate slideshow window
If you have a traditional single-screen setup, this is the only guide you need to concern yourself with. The methodology is split into two bits — one: PowerPoint and two: Zoom.
First, open up Microsoft PowerPoint and pick the slide you want to share. Now, click on the ‘Slide show’ tab and hit ‘Set Up Slide Show.’
Then, select ‘Browsed by an individual (window)’ under ‘Show type.’ Hit ‘Ok’ to confirm.
Finally, switch to slide show mode by clicking on the ‘Slide Show’ tab and selecting either ‘From Beginning’ or ‘From Next Slide.’
This would open a slide show window, separately. If you do not want to show the slideshow in a separate window, all you have to do is skip the previous step — ‘Browsed by an individual (window)’
2. Present PPT on Zoom
Now, go back to your Zoom meeting and click on the ‘Share Screen’ option.
Now that the PPT has been launched in a separate window, you can easily select that window on the next screen and commence the slideshow. Click on ‘Share’ to begin.
Here’s how it’d look:
How to present using Google Slides on Zoom?
If Microsoft PowerPoint is a little too heavy for you, you could always opt for Google’s adequately powerful alternative called Slides. It allows you to create interesting yet simple presentations and share as you see fit. Of course, it also needs Zoom’s Screen Share feature to work as intended, which, at this point, should feel pretty natural to you.

1. Use Presenter View
Now, if you want a more immersive experience and also keep track of the notes you might have, we recommend using the ‘Presenter View.’ With the View enabled, Google Slides would create a separate window for all your notes, which only you’d be able to see. The main presentation window, on the other hand, would remain clutter-free and free from distractions.
To use the ‘Presenter View,’ first, you simply need to go to your presentation page, click on the little downward arrow right next to the ‘Present’ button at the top-right.
Now, hit ‘Presenter View.’
As soon as you click that button, you’ll get a separate space for all your notes, while another clean window would appear for slideshows.
2. Use Zoom to present
Now that the windows have been separated, you can easily use Zoom to present the slideshow window. While in a meeting, click on the ‘Share Screen’ button and select the browser window with Google Slides on top.
Finally, hit ‘Share’ to start the screen-sharing session.
Some tips for a successful presentation
As we’ve discussed, presenting is one of the most daunting tasks in the world for most, even virtually. The techy jargon often only adds to the tension, making many people dread the sessions, even when they are completely prepared. Below are some basic handy tips for your next presentation.

1. Master your craft
Knowing the material is always the best way to prepare for a hectic presentation. If you know what you’re presenting and have complete faith in the report, you’re ought to do exceptionally well. However, when it comes to Zoom presentations, knowing just the material isn’t enough. You also need to make sure all your components are in order and you’re presenting with confidence.
Try a couple of dry runs, see if your presentation is working just as it’s supposed to. Practice the pitch if you have to. Checking all of these boxes would improve your chances of success, remarkably.
2. Dress for the occasion
When you’re not forced to present in a swanky conference room, it’s not difficult to lose track of the dressing etiquette. However, you must remember the scale of your presentation and try your best to look the part. Wearing a perfectly ironed shirt and fitted trousers would not only impress your peers and superiors, but it’ll also instill a sense of confidence in you.

3. Create a quiet environment
Zoom is quite capable of filtering some noise out of video chats. However, it doesn’t have the quality to cancel out everything you throw at it. So, before you start a video conferencing session and go about your presentation, make sure you’re in a relatively quiet environment. There can be a bit of noise, here and there, but make sure your subtle points aren’t drowned by some rogue barks from the street below.

Presenting slides over Zoom has become very common, especially since the start of the pandemic. Additional Tips
Here are some additional tips for presenting Google Slides smoothly with speaker notes on Zoom:
Being able to privately view your speaker notes while showing slides publicly makes presenting over Zoom much easier. By enabling speaker view in Google Slides and sharing your screen in Zoom, you can confidently present using your prepared notes without the audience seeing behind the scenes. This works seamlessly as long as you remember to share the slideshow window itself and not just the browser tab. How to Zoom in & Zoom Out in Google Slides? A Simple Trick!
By: Author Shrot Katewa
If you are new to Google Slides, figuring out how to Zoom in and Zoom Out on Google Slides can be really annoying! You won’t see any zoom slider, and some of the most common keyboard shortcuts for zooming in don’t work! So, how exactly can you zoom in on a Google Slide?
In order to Zoom in or Zoom Out on Google Slides, click on “View”, then select “Zoom” from the dropdown, and finally choose the zoom percentage as per your preference. Google Slides doesn’t have a zoom slider, and can only zoom in or out as per the preset percentages.
Zooming in and out on a Google Slide works in a different manner than some of the other most common presentation design software. So, let’s understand this in detail below.
A Quick Note Before We Begin – if you want to make jaw-dropping presentations, I would recommend using one of these Presentation Designs . The best part is – it is only $16.5 a month, but you get to download and use as many presentation designs as you like! I personally use it from time-to-time, and it makes my task of making beautiful presentations really quick and easy!
How to Zoom In and Zoom Out on Google Slides? (Step-by-Step)
An interesting aspect of Zoom Function in Google Slides is that it is quite difficult to locate for first-time users, however, once you’ve understood how it functions, zooming in and out on Google Slides becomes a breeze!
There are 3 different ways in which you can zoom in or zoom out on Google Slides. Let’s learn more about all three methods!
Method 1 – From the View Menu
The first method is by using the “ View ” option in the Menu Bar . Here are the steps that you need to follow –
Step 1 – Click on View Menu
The first step is really to locate the “ View ” menu in the Menu Bar. You will be able to find it at the 3rd position from the left. It can be found between “ Edit ” and “ Insert “.
Step 2 – Select the Zoom Option
Once you’ve clicked on the View menu, you’ll immediately see a dropdown with multiple options. One the options would be “Zoom”
The next step is to click on “ Zoom “. You’ll then be shown multiple options to choose.
Step 3 – Click on Zoom In or Zoom Out
When you click on Zoom, another dropdown menu will open on the side, and you will see multiple options present in it.
Click on either “ Zoom In ” or “ Zoom Out ” option as per your requirement.
“Zoom In” will magnify the slides making it easier to see and work with objects on the slide, whereas “Zoom Out” will make the overall slide smaller.
Method 2 – Using Zoom Function in the Toolbar
The method mentioned above works great when you need to zoom in or zoom out just once. But a drawback with that method is that if you have to zoom in more than once, you will have to repeat all the steps again!
Fortunately, Google Slides also provides Zoom In or Zoom Out function directly in the “ Toolbar “. Let’s look at how this works –
Step 1 – Locate the Zoom Feature on the Toolbar
The first thing that you will need to do is locate the zoom function on the toolbar. You can easily identify it as it resembles a magnifying glass with a “ + ” sign inside the magnifying glass.
Step 2 – Click on the Small Arrow on the Zoom Feature
The next thing you need to do is click on the small arrow right next to the magnifying glass.
Upon clicking this downward facing arrow, you will see a dropdown menu appear.
Step 3 – Choose Zoom In or Zoom Out
Once you see a dropdown menu appear with a few different options, you can choose to click on either Zoom In or Zoom Out depending on your requirement.
You can repeat this process in order to Zoom In or Zoom Out once again.
Step 4 – Click on Magnifying Glass for Multiple Zooms (Works only for Zoom In)
If you want to quickly zoom in multiple times, then instead of clicking on the downward arrow, you need to select the magnifying glass by clicking on it.
Make sure that the background of the magnifying glass becomes a light yellow in color. Another thing that you will notice is that your cursor now also becomes a magnifying glass (as indicated in the image). These two indications suggest that you have correctly selected the zoom function in Google Slides.
Once you have clicked on the zoom function using the Toolbar, you will not be able to select any other object or text on the Slide. Upon clicking on the slide, Google Slides will only zoom in further.
To fix this, you can either press the escape key (indicated by “Esc” on your keyboard), or select the “ Mouse Arrow ” icon in the toolbar which is visible immediately to the right of the “ Zoom ” function in the toolbar.
If you feel that you’ve zoomed in a bit too much, then follow step 1 through step 3 in method 2 mentioned above, and in the 3rd step, click on Zoom Out.
Method 2 is slightly faster and also easy to implement.
Method 3 – Using Keyboard Shortcuts for Zoom In & Zoom Out in Google Slides
The last method for Zooming In and Out on Google Slides is by directly using the keyboard shortcuts
If you are using a Windows Computer, then press Ctrl+Alt+”+” (That’s control, alt & + keys together) keys to Zoom In, and Ctrl+Alt+”-” to Zoom Out on Google Slides
If you are on a Mac, the keyboard shortcut to zoom in is Cmd+Option+”+”, and Cmd+Option+”-” to zoom out of Google Slides.
Using the keyboard shortcuts to zoom in and zoom out in Google Slides is the fastest and easiest method of the three processes mentioned above. (provided you can remember the shortcut keys!)
How to Set a Fixed Zoom Level in Google Slides?
Unlike PowerPoint, Google Slides doesn’t allow you the level of flexibility and control in the amount of Zoom In and Zoom Out that can be done on a slide.
That said, Google Slides does provide with 3 fixed presets for the zoom levels of your slides. The presets are set at 50% zoom, 100% zoom as well as 200%.
It can be argued that perhaps having fixed presets enables us to easily maintain consistency across all our slides and even multiple presentations.
Nevertheless, here’s how you set a fixed zoom level in Google Slides –
As indicated in the image above, all you need to do is go to the “ Zoom ” options by clicking the “ View ” menu in the “ Menu Bar ” (just the way we did it in Method 1 described above).
Then, instead of selecting Zoom In or Zoom Out, select any one of the three presets indicated by 50%, 100% or 200%. You will notice that your slide zooms specifically to the level selected in an instant.
You can also fix the zoom levels of your slide by choosing the Zoom Function from the Toolbar (as described in Method 2 mentioned above).
How to Reset the Zoom Levels of a Slide in Google Slide?
It is easy to mess up the zoom levels in Google Slides at least when you are using it for the first time as the zoom function is not really intuitive.
So, how does one reset the zoom of a slide in Google Slides?
In order to reset the zoom of a slide in Google Slides, click on “View”. Then, click on “Zoom”, and finally select “Fit (91%)”. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+[ on Windows and Cmd+Option+[ on Mac!
The above image showcases the steps that you need to take in order to reset the zoom levels of a slide in Google Slides.
Kindly note that you can also zoom to fit using the downward facing arrow as mentioned in the method 2 described above.
How to Zoom In and Zoom Out in Google Docs and Google Sheets?
Zoom function in Google Docs and Google Sheets is a bit different from how it works on Google Slides.
Why Google would want to create this inconsistency and confusion is beyond my understanding!
That said, it is relatively easier and intuitive to adjust the Zoom levels in Google Docs and Google Sheets as compared to Google Slides.
As indicated in the image above, you can directly adjust the zoom levels from the zoom function in the Toolbar.
To do so, click on the “ 100% ” shown in the Toolbar. This will open a dropdown menu with several different zoom levels.
You can easily choose the right zoom level for you by simply clicking on any of the multiple presets provided.
Adjusting the Zoom Levels in Googles Sheets also works in exactly the same manner as that in Google Docs.
Final Thoughts
Adjusting just the correct amount of zoom on a slide in Google Slides can be a bit cumbersome; especially for a new user.
Hopefully, with the methods mentioned above and the steps that describe the process in detail, you will now be able to change the zoom levels in Google Slides quite easily!

Galaxy Z Fold6 vs. Galaxy Z Flip6: Which foldable device is best for your business?
How to videoconference hands-free and screen share with galaxy z fold6.
Hand-talkers, rejoice. With the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 , you can take videoconference calls from anywhere and be as animated with your hands as you like.
In FlexMode, the foldable phone stands alone — literally — as the flexible, mobile videoconference solution you’ve been missing. FlexMode is a product of Galaxy Z Fold6’s foldable form factor, allowing you to set the device on your desk, adjust the angle as you see fit, and video chat hands-free. Be your most productive and personable self, whether you’re working from home, at the office or on the go.
With Galaxy Z Fold6, you don’t just take video calls — you make them more collaborative with screen sharing, whiteboarding and instant access to all your work documents. Here’s how it works:
Launch your videoconference
Knowing that a new form factor requires tailored app development, Samsung has worked with leading videoconferencing solutions and business apps to create FlexMode-friendly user experiences. For example, Microsoft Teams is one of several video chat platforms optimized for hands-free videoconferencing on Galaxy Z Fold6. Whether in smartphone or tablet mode, you can launch a Teams meeting just like you would on your desktop. If you have the new Galaxy Buds3 for instant audio pairing, even better.

Don’t turn your camera on quite yet, though. We’ll get there in a minute. First, move the FlexMode panel button to your desired location on the screen so it’s easy to find but out of the way.
Fold into FlexMode
If you’ve started your Teams meeting from the cover screen, open it up to the expansive 7.6-inch tablet display. (If you’re already in tablet mode, great.) Now, turn the device, fold it horizontally about halfway and set it down on your desk. You’re ready to video chat hands-free. Time to turn on that camera and wave hello.
Share a presentation
After a few minutes of catching up, it’s time to get to work. Microsoft Teams on your Galaxy Z Fold6 looks and functions much like Teams on your laptop, so you’ll notice the Share icon is right where you’d expect it to be, next to the Chat and Participants icons. Tap Share and then choose Share PowerPoint. Select the document you want to share from your files or OneDrive, and it will open in the top portion of your flexed Galaxy Z Fold6. Your video chat will be at the bottom. You can tap the FlexMode panel button to open a touchboard and Scroll wheel at the bottom as well. The Scroll wheel lets you scroll with ease like you’re using a mouse, while an accompanying mouse pointer lets you quickly click links.

To present like a pro on your new foldable, you can add the optional S Pen Fold Edition or S Pen Pro , designed with a soft tip and spring to reduce the impact on the display. Use the S Pen to present, advance slides and navigate your videoconference with precision.
Whiteboard with the S Pen
From the Share button in Teams, you can also choose to share your entire Galaxy Z Fold6 screen. One use case for this is to whiteboard in Samsung Notes (probably with the device laid flat on your desk). You’ll want the S Pen for whiteboarding to quickly sketch, annotate and bring big ideas to life. When you’re done, your creation will automatically be saved as a new note, and you can send it off to everyone who was there — or who wasn’t able to make it — so they have it on hand for reference.
Knowing how busy you are, you probably have a hard stop, so it’s time for us to wrap up this chat and sign off. As with so many other things on Galaxy Z Fold6, you can do that with one tap.
Unfold an entirely new way to videoconference, hands-free, on Samsung’s most powerful foldable yet.
Unfold next-level productivity for your business with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 today. If you’re not currently an Android or Galaxy user, make sure to try Galaxy for work on your current device today.
