My Future Plan

I often wonder about my future as I am about to finish my schooling. There are a number of questions in my mind, and the one which mostly revolves around my mind is which profession I should choose. It is difficult for me to make a choice because I am aware that the decision will impact my entire life. I always dream of a profession that I can enjoy, that brings a challenge to me and satisfies me. I believe in a job that is like a hobby for me. I just don’t want to do the job to make money. Instead, I want to love my profession and duty. Also, my job should be such that I contribute to society and help people.

From my childhood, I always wanted to treat people and cure their diseases. So, to fulfil this dream of becoming a doctor, I have some future plans. Firstly, I have to complete my secondary schooling. Then, I have to complete my higher secondary education, and thereafter, I would like to study in a prestigious medical college and later become a doctor.

Studying medical science takes a long time. It is a difficult course and requires a tremendous amount of hard work and patience. I hope that I will be able to meet all the challenges and complete my studies well. After the completion of my studies, I would like to work in a hospital, so I can make my dream come true.

During my studies, I will have to work on different biology projects. The experience of working on these projects will give me insight into science and help me in becoming a good doctor. In addition, I also have to develop patience and diligence. During the summer vacations, I will have to work under a good doctor as an assistant nurse. It will help me to get real-life experience of how doctors work. Moreover, the learning will help me to deal with patients, nurses, doctors and staff of the hospital. It will be the best kickstart for my career as a future medical student.

As for now, I am focusing on my studies and looking forward to completing my schooling. I do have a future plan for my family. But, before that, I would like to travel the world. I want to visit different countries like America, Finland and London and travel to all the continents. After finishing my education and going on a world trip, I would like to settle down in my life. So, I will get married and would love to have a small family. I would like to have a small home in a natural and calm place where I can live and enjoy myself with my family.

10 Ways to Prepare a Great Future for Your Family

All Pro Dad

All Pro Dad

In 1993, AT&T had a series of ads called “You Will.” In the ads, AT&T posed the question, “Have you ever?” and followed up that question with a number of scenarios we thought were crazy in 1993. Here are some examples: “Have you ever driven across the country without stopping for directions?” Meanwhile, the ad showed a screen on the center console of the car with a voiced navigation screen. “Have you ever paid a toll without slowing down?” the voiceover says as a car passes through the toll moving fast. “Have you ever sent a fax from the beach?” the voiceover says while the commercial views a man on a beach writing words on a digital tablet and pressing send. A couple of decades later, we know AT&T was uncannily accurate in its prediction of the future. Getting people to prepare for the future was a great business strategy.

But how about a 20-year plan for your family? Your kids will be grown and gone. You may be a grandparent at that point. You’ll probably be looking back over your life wondering how time flew so fast. You can put yourself in a great position then by implementing the 10 ways to plan for your family 20 years from now and achieve your family goals.

1. Live for today.

This may seem counter-intuitive, but it’s not. Jesus told a great story about a man who spent every waking hour accumulating things for the future and building increasingly bigger sheds to put it all in. Unfortunately, he never got to see 20 years into the future. It’s OK to plan for the future, but don’t miss what is going on now. If we’re careful to live for today , then we’re building a solid foundation for years.

2. Practice balance.

Wisdom is not having to go to the store for milk right before breakfast. Living for today includes appropriate planning for tomorrow. Today balanced with tomorrow, family relationships balanced against making a living. Find that balance because it won’t find you.

3. Spend less than you earn—every month.

This is a simple guideline with complex repercussions. Digging out of debt is like building a wall with dry sand—more than half of each shovel load comes right back down. First, stabilize your spending. Second, pay off the debt. Remember that you will pay more interest on your debt than you can earn from your savings. Get rid of debt; then you can prepare for the future.

4. Invest yourself in your children.

Here’s the math (don’t worry, it’s fairly painless!). Parental neglect to your 5-year-old + a couple of years = 40% of the child’s life. But if you turn things around now, by the time he’s 10, you’ll have been the world’s best dad forever. The more years we let slip away, the deeper in the hole relationships become. It’s like negative interest compounded daily. Simply put, today is the right time to be a great dad. You’ll have that investment 20 years down the road and in spades.

5. Make the tough choices today.

Don’t say “I’ll spend time with my kids next year…” Invest in family time today. Don’t deal with your distant relationship with your wife “once we’ve got the kids settled in school.” Face the music before the damage solidifies. Don’t say that “we’ll take care of us, the budget, or our priorities after the kids go to college.” Bite the bullet now.

6. If you’re married, love your wife eloquently.

Too many parents neglect one another in favor of the kids. Big mistake. Your best gift to your children today is to love their mother. If you’re divorced, handle that one by offering respect and support. No matter how old the kids are today, they’ll be young adults in 20 years. Two decades of love and respect is the best way to prepare for the future.

7. Build memories that will make you smile.

This is a direct offshoot of points one through five above. We may or may not live in this neighborhood, at this income level, or in this physical health in 20 years, but our family will have these memories to last a lifetime.

8. Never give up.

Ordinary families struggle. Struggle is part of life, but you can be no ordinary family too. It’s how we respond to challenges that determines what the family looks like 20 years from now. For family, faithfulness is more than just a physical discipline—it’s a modus operandi. This is teaching our children well.

9. Always believe.

Too many families lose hope when they face tough stuff. But if today we maintain hope—if we choose to believe that one day we’ll look back and marvel at how far we’ve come—we’ll get through what we’re going through with a lot more ease. Believe deliberately, repeatedly, and together.

People with unhealed wounds end up wounding the people around them. And if those people don’t seek healing either, they wound others, too. If we choose to stay as-is, we make an impact on generations to come—and not the best impact we could have. Everyone has room to grow and reasons to heal. What wound haven’t you tended to yet? Start that today, and the future of your family will get brighter.

Sound off: What do you think is the best way to prepare for the future?

How Should I Go About Writing My Family Essay?: Examples and Tips

Family is an integral part of every individual's life. Delving into the intricate layers of family relationships and dynamics can yield a captivating essay. Here's a comprehensive guide with examples and tips to guide you through the process.

What Topics Should I Write About for My Family Essay?

Choosing the right topic is essential. Here are some suggestions:

Writing a Family Tree Dive into your roots! A family tree can be more than names and dates; it can narrate stories of ancestors, their challenges, achievements, and legacies. For instance, "When I looked into our family tree, I discovered that my great-grandfather was a sailor who traveled the world and had countless tales of adventures, some of which have become legendary bedtime stories in our family."

Describing My Family in My Essay Discuss each family member in detail. "My sister, with her fiery red hair and matching temper, is the exact opposite of my calm and analytical brother. Yet, when they come together, they create the most amazing music, with him on the piano and her singing."

Writing About a Personal Memory Share a poignant memory. "I remember the time when our cat, Whiskers, went missing. The entire family turned detectives overnight, searching for clues, putting up posters, and even setting up a 'cat trap' with her favorite treats. The adventure ended with Whiskers found sleeping peacefully in the neighbor's shed, unaware of the chaos she had caused."

Dos and Don’ts When Writing a Family Stories Essay

  • Be authentic.
  • Use vivid descriptions and dialogues.
  • Respect privacy; ask permission if sharing personal details.
  • Avoid making generalizations.
  • Refrain from being overly negative or critical.
  • Don't plagiarize; every family's story is unique.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a good hook for an essay on my family? As Tolstoy once said, 'All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.' Our family, though, has found its unique shade of happiness.
  • What should I include in an essay about me and my family? Descriptions of family members, memories, traditions, challenges, and lessons.
  • How should I start an essay all about my family? Every time I think of the word 'home,' an image of our old cottage, Sunday dinners, and loud family debates comes to mind.
  • How long should my essay about my family be? Length depends on the requirement; academic essays typically range from 500-1000 words, while personal essays can vary.
  • How do I make my family essay engaging? Incorporate stories, memories, and emotions.
  • Is it okay to discuss family challenges in my essay? Yes, but be sensitive and respectful.
  • Can I add humor to my family essay? Yes, as long as it's in good taste.

Dreaming and Planning Your Family Future

Have you taken the time to think about your future? Considered what your true dreams really are and what you want to see in various areas of your life ? If not, start imagining!

Or maybe you have put lots of thought into your future and have come up with many different options. Now you need to discover what is the right path for your present life. Clarity is what you need.

It all starts with a dream. A vision. A mission. It requires you to use the fullest extent of your imagination to discover the future you’re meant to have.

Before you can have the family life you’re supposed to have, you’ve got to imagine yourself living it. And imagine everyone else involved living it along with you.

Every goal, every victory, every dream realized begins on the inside of you. It’s got to be a reality in your mind to be able to play out in the physical world. I like to refer to this type of imagining as looking at your life with your spiritual eyes. Believing what your life is before you see it (with your physical eyes) is what will give you the most joy and peace which will give you the hope required to persevere through the many challenges that will come up.

One of my dreams that came up for me 12 or so years ago was to work from home so I could still contribute to our household income and have lots of time to be available for my kids.

That dream started pretty small. I just wanted to do something that I enjoyed at least a bit and that I could make some money with. As I progressed on that little dream, I started to dream bigger and bolder. I didn’t just want to do something that suited my natural talents and gave me money, I wanted to do something that really impacted people.

I believe how it works is that even if you don’t get really excited about some parts of your desires, God will help you along to realize a little dream while gearing you up to do something even more magnificent!

I help people make progress in all parts of their lives, but I’m especially fond of helping moms be more available to their family by running a home business. I know there are lots of moms that wish they could spend more time nurturing their home life and less time meeting the demands of their job.

For those women and the moms who already stay at home but want to nurture their professional side, I encourage you to get a clear picture in your mind – in your imagination – of what your life will be like when you’ve got the flexibility and fulfillment of your home business.

Create the vision of your life by imagining everything you’ve already achieved. And get into detail about what your life will be like.

Visualize….

  • What you do for a business
  • What happens in a typical day
  • Where you live
  • The balance of your bank account
  • What you do for fun
  • The activities you do with family
  • The personal growth you’ve achieved (i.e. the bad habits you’ve stopped and the good habits that you do all the time)
  • The professional growth you’ve achieved
  • This list could go on for a while ….

Hopefully you get the idea that you picture any and every aspect of the life of your dreams. Then after you’ve spent some time day-dreaming your future, get writing. Get a blank lined journal (something that looks special) and write down what you will have in different areas.

You can make those areas anything that feels right to you, but to give you an example, I currently write down my vision in these areas:

  • Physical health
  • Relationships

I’ve put these as headings on separate pages in my Dreaming and Planning Book and write down, usually in point-form, what I want to see for each area.

Some of these sections I’ve wrote short-term and long-term goals. I’ve made a section half-way through the book where I write out quarterly goals. I’ve got a block of a few pages where I’ve been brainstorming and detailing some of the business ideas that have come to mind. I’ve also left a few blank pages right at the beginning of my book where I write some quotes that are meaningful for me and other little phrases and scripture that help to keep me grounded and focused on the right things.

One such reminder I have in my book is:

Your field of focus determines what you find in life:

  • Focus on opportunities and that’s what you’ll find
  • Focus on obstacles and that’s what you’ll find

And directing your focus on the right things is just what your personal Dreaming and Planning Book is for. It’s to help us stay focused on all the opportunities and possibilities so we can find all the blessings of abundance in every part of our lives.

Over the years I’ve written down my dreams and goals in different ways, with varying levels of commitment to maintaining my focus on the right stuff. There are so many ways that you can create your vision and keep it front and centre in your life. So, if you’ve tried the goal-setting thing before without much in the way of achievements or have done some visualizing of your future, but nothing that was a regular part of your life, then we’re in the same club. I’ve been up and down with my commitment on creating my vision and taking action to make it happen. But life has always gone smoother when my mind was focused on the opportunities and possibilities, even when the present was pretty bleak.

Visualizing your future and setting goals to get the abundant life you’re meant to have is a lifeline. It is what will keep you moving forward even if you haven’t thought about what you want for months.

Just get back to it. Or start. And keep your spiritual eyes on your future. Make it a daily part of your life to check in with your dreams, take action on your vision or to just sit down, close your eyes and visualize all that extraordinary stuff in your future.

And share some of your methods for dreaming and planning so myself and others can be inspired with new ideas to create the good life.

Family Planning: Dreams and Realities

How to talk about your plans, and stay loose with what comes..

Posted October 18, 2021 | Reviewed by Devon Frye

  • During family planning, preparing a "Plan B" and "Plan C" can help if your first choice (Plan A) doesn’t happen.
  • Infertility is one of many common conditions that can be othering. Talking to a doctor about infertility can reduce stigma and secure treatment.
  • Families come in all shapes and sizes. There is no wrong way to make a family.

There are few things that create greater expectations than the idea of starting a family. When we think of having or adopting a child for the first time, we all have our own set of expectations of what that will look like for our partners and ourselves. We tend to default to a perfectly smooth process, with a happy and healthy baby and couple at the end of the journey. While this can and most likely will happen for many, there are grittier realities that we must consider and talk about with our partners before we get started.

Make a Plan A, B, and C

It’s not fun and may make someone feel like a wet blanket to consider and envision the “What could go wrong?" scenarios, and that is not the aim of this article. Rather, the goal of having the conversation about the “what if’s” is not to sow fear , but to approach a life-changing event with caution and mental preparedness so that in the event that things do stray from plan A, there is a plan B or plan C waiting in the wings.

For couples whose plan A is to have a child biologically, once you get on the same page that this is the avenue you would like to go down, it is not a bad idea to start the doctor appointments early.

At the end of the day, pregnancy is a medical process and medical knowledge and preparation can only better prepare you for a positive outcome. For couples attempting to have a child biologically, consider going to your OB-GYN when you plan to start trying to get an initial checkup. Most OB-GYNs offer pre-conception counseling and fertility evaluations to couples just getting started to make sure everything is set up for conception.

This is an easy, quick, and painless way to get things started on the right footing.

Why You Should Talk About Timelines

Another thing to discuss with your partner is timelines. Hopefully, you and your partner have already discussed timelines on when to try for a child, but the discussions do not need to end there. Talk with each other about how long you and your partner plan to actively try before seeking fertility help. Getting on the same page about this now will prevent fights in the future when emotions will already be running high.

Infertility and Other Factors

Ask your doctor about fertility and infertility . Infertility (defined as being unable to get pregnant after one year of trying) affects about 6 percent of married women aged 15 to 44 years in the United States. Additionally, 12 percent of women in that same age group have difficulty getting pregnant and carrying the pregnancy to term.

Sadly, these topics are still taboo and not often discussed as normal occurrences for many women. The concept of infertility is still very “othering” for women who experience it, in large part because the media doesn’t normalize it as it should; instead, most media normalizes un-aided pregnancy as normal, leaving many women feeling left out and insecure.

But not only is infertility, miscarriage , and child loss common, but one of the leading causes of it, PCOS, isn’t usually discovered in women until they are trying to conceive and have difficulty conceiving. PCOS, a condition that can lead to fertility issues affects between 6 to 12 percent of women.

For comparison, Toyota cars currently make up around 13 percent of the U.S. car market. The vast majority of people know, see, or own a Toyota. They are far from a niche or an exception in the automotive industry. PCOS is the Toyota of fertility issues and deserves more attention and awareness as an issue that many women face.

Car talk aside—because this is a reality for many many women, in your own relationship, have the conversation with your partner about what your plan would be if you do want children biologically and need help making that happen.

Research Your Options

Set times, and dates, and plans. Do research. What options would you be willing to try? What options would you not be willing to try? Research different areas of family planning such as IVF, IUI, fostering, adoption , surrogacy, etc. (This is another reason that it’s important to talk to your doctor early!)

Dreaming

One couple that had their first child through IVF stated that they wished they had done a workup right at the beginning. They had tried for two years without success, and only then did they go to the doctor, and only then did they find out that IVF would be their best chance at conceiving. Now they are proponents of early screening and fertility checks at the beginning of the journey of trying to have children.

If biological children are not in your family’s plan, then discuss and research your options of fostering, adopting, or surrogacy. What do you and your partner feel comfortable with? What roles do each of you want to take in that process? What are your budgets and timelines?

Remember: You Are Not Alone

If you and your partner run into difficulties in getting pregnant or having a child, there will absolutely be disappointment. No one who plans wants to see that plan changed. Yet if you and your partner have established a framework of how to talk about that disappointment and how to process and feel those feelings while staying actively engaged in your journey, then in the disappointment there will also be sober-mindedness to help to cushion what may be a painful fall.

Ultimately, families come in all shapes and sizes—and just as there is nothing wrong with having a vision of what your ideal family plan will be, there is nothing wrong with finding joy in another outcome. Your family is your family, and the love that will grow in that family is nothing less just because it doesn’t look like someone else’s.

There are nations like China where the rise of the population has taken a massive range in the country and now the government is trying to have control over the growth of the population. We can see how the population growth of China is in a stagnant state for the past couple of decades. This is because it has taken control of the growth of the population by asking the citizens for better family planning where they cannot reproduce more than one child in their life. Family planning is not only associated with the personal life of a person but at the same time, it is a national issue. It can be associated with the fraction of youth in the population of a country, pressure on the economy and other resources, and competition for survival. If a nation is lacking a young population there is a fair chance that it is going to face severe challenges in the future. This is because when the working population of the country is less than the old one then it is a great concern for the country which can be tackled by the family planning by the citizens by thinking about the growth of the country on a world scale. Stay up to date:.

As we approach UN International Day of Families , only the foolhardy would try and predict the future of family groups. Previous attempts have, in fact, failed. William J Goode, writing in the early 1960s during the “golden age of marriage”, saw convergence towards the western-style conjugal family as an inevitable consequence of industrialisation. No sooner had his seminal book World Revolution and Family Patterns been published than divorce rates started increasing, and married women began moving into the labour force.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained, however. And there are some clear clues we can draw on to guess at how family life might change in Europe over the years.

From the early 1970s, marriage and childbearing began to be postponed and cohabitation and non-marital childbearing started to increase. The trend is clear in the chart below.

births-outside-marriage-percentage-chart

Demographers Dirk Van de Kaa and Ron Lesthaeghe interpreted these changes as the consequence of changing values, increased self-fulfilment and individualism. They suggested that all European countries would experience a “second demographic transition”. Marriage, sex and parenthood would be separated, and we would see a convergence to sustained low fertility and a new set of family forms: non-marital fertility, lone parenthood, cohabiting couple families.

There has been movement in most countries towards new family forms such as cohabitation and non-marital childbearing. Even in what are generally considered to be more religious countries in Southern Europe. In Spain, births outside marriage rose from 2% in 1972 to 39% in 2012.

Countries still differ , though, in the way in which cohabitation, marriage and childbearing are related. The extent to which governments have acted to recognise and regulate non-marital cohabiting unions and same-sex couples suggests that the acceptance of new family forms will continue to vary greatly between countries.

Poverty effects

As family biographies have become de-standardised, so there has been a “ convergence towards diversity ”. In other words, people today experience a greater range of ways to organise their family lives, and we expect such diversity to characterise future families. However, according to US scholar Sara McLanahan , socio-economic differences in the types of parenting structures and behaviour in evidence can be seen as fuelling poverty by creating “ diverging destinies ” for children.

Partly in response to economic precariousness and reduced gains to marriage, less well educated people are more likely to enter partnerships at an earlier age and to have children outside marriage . They are also more likely to see their relationships fail, or to go through pregnancy with multiple partners, compared to those with higher levels of education in the US and possibly also in the UK .

You can also see the evidence of persistent diversity in large cross-national differences in the level of childbearing. As can be seen in the chart below, there is persistently low fertility (around 1.3 to 1.4 births per woman) in Southern Europe and the German-speaking countries, compared to much higher fertility (between 1.8 and 2 children per woman) in Nordic countries and Western Europe.

Childbearing is higher in countries with higher levels of female labour force participation , economic development , generosity of paid parental leave provision for mothers and paternity leave .

Drivers of change

There are several factors likely to affect how families are structured and organised, and which could impact on shaping the future families. These include increasing longevity which has important implications for how we plan our lives , care needs and inter-generational relations .

Increased international migration will create more transnational families – especially since for the first time women account for more than 50% of all international migrants . Technology is likely to influence the future of families too. As mobility increases, family members are increasingly geographically separated, but more connected via mobile technologies. Flexible working becomes more possible, allowing men and women to better combine their work and family roles.

Home life will define family of the future

Another driver of change in future families is gender equality. The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets, among others, the goal of achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls. But which type of gender equality matters for the future of families?

The adaptation of women to their new role in traditionally male activities in the public sphere and the acceptance of their new roles as equal or primary earners has been faster than the adaptation of men to traditionally female roles as care providers.

Men’s share of housework and childcare is highest in gender-egalitarian countries such as the Nordic ones, and lowest in areas of low gender equality such as Southern and Eastern Europe.

weekly-housework-hours-gender-country

However, look at the chart above and you can see that in all countries women still devote more time than men in housework activities. The gender revolution is far from being fully completed, even in the gender-egalitarian Nordic countries.

Sharing the load

Proponents of the gender revolution theory predict a happy ending for the family of the future. Once gender equality in all spheres of life is reached, a new model of the family will become widespread, with higher fertility and more stable unions.

However, current data highlight striking differences across social classes: gender-egalitarian ideologies and decreased risk of divorce are a prerogative of the highly educated. Whether the gender revolution will translate into a positive outcome for families in the future may depend on whether and how fast men, especially from lower social classes, embrace gender equality in the home.

This is the equality that seems to matter most for promoting more stable families and higher fertility. The hope has to be that attitudes towards an equal division of tasks in and outside the home will continue to spread until we arrive at a new model of the family where partners become increasingly more similar in terms of their employment and caring responsibilities.

Educational Plan

Lifestyle plan, works cited.

Planning ten years of my life seems like a kind of challenge now. We can’t predict what will happen to us after several months. However, I believe that great success is impossible without personal motivation and clearly defined goals. Thus, my life plan essay should start with a clear objective.

In ten years, I want to own an event company that can be the best in its field. I have always been fascinated with this idea. The following 10-year life plan essay will consist of three parts that can help me structure my future and achieve all my goals.

I would like to organize great performances at different events every day. Can you imagine a holiday that never ends? And this will be my work. I will make people happier. Now I need to plan all the steps to help me achieve my dream.

The first step of the way of my goal’s achievement is education. My education will be done at the University of Nevada, where I am planning to study hospitality management as a major and event management as a minor. I am sure of the importance of hard study for my future work. I need to get at least a 3.5 GPA. The multiple locations can help me gain a diversified background and extend my knowledge.

Therefore, I want to do some internship while studying. Perhaps, I will visit different countries to explore the modern tendencies of business start and its future development. Swope says: “I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure, which is: “Try to please everybody” (Swope).

Therefore, I am planning to get experience in different fields because I am sure of their future importance for my business. The examples of some international companies can help me understand how to make my business prosper. To extend my experience, I will start my practice during the study.

I think that education is very important. The lack of knowledge can lead to the business’s incapacity and collapse. Today, the diploma plays a significant role. It gives an appropriate status and respect. A man with a diploma looks more confident and, of course, qualified.

Accreditation provides much more opportunities in life. Therefore, I am planning to study hard and get as much knowledge as possible. I am sure that the university I chose can help me achieve my goals. My education will give me the base for my future business.

It is the most important part of the life plan, which should clarify the goal and approaches to its achievement. Nowadays, the leaders of all companies know the value of settings achievable and understandable goals. Such issues are called smart goals, which need to get better results. These smart ideas help me share my vision of the business with the possible assistants (“Life Planning”).

My attention is turned to the use of certain tools that may help my project. For instance, I need to identify and list all the barriers that may be between me and my goal. I shouldn’t be scared of possible problems because it is an integral part of my future success. Being realistic, I realize all the difficulties I should overcome.

In the beginning, I have to clarify who will be involved in my business. This can be a family company, or I can cooperate with a wide circle of partners. What results do I want to achieve? I want to own a successful company that will be famous around the country.

Choosing the place location, I prefer my native city because it will be easier to find clients and partners. Thinking about these questions, I can clearly understand all the important keys to my goal’s achievement. I will get so many opportunities, so I shouldn’t be lazy in its use (Ashton 8). This is why I think it is the most important period of my life.

My lifestyle should accomplish my educational and professional background and skills. I am planning to do a huge social work and to promote equality among people. I want to help everyone that I can. But I have to learn more from the closest one.

My business will be closely related to people from different communities. Therefore, matching my wants, I should be ready to keep my mind open to different cultural issues and views. I plan to visit many countries to learn about cultural features. This will help in my work with clients.

According to Bukofsky, even my religious and spiritual conditions are very important for my business (34). Family relations also play a huge role in the business success achievement. Life planning is a process that may lead a person to take a more active role and to think about the future. Thinking about my future, I imagine a family that will support me and give me more motivation.

I totally agree with Carlson that “self-actualization is the key to self-help” (9). Although no one can control all life’s events, it is better to try being over random chance and fate.

There is a difference between the person who goes to one’s goal and the man who can easily be influenced by random events. I will structure my life according to the daily plan. This will allow me to follow the main idea, which will lead to success. The life plan is a perfect method to figure out what is really important in life.

I have so many ideas and interests in different fields. I am fascinated by people who can concentrate on the most important idea and follow the plan. However, I should follow my own life plan for the future result. I agree with the statement of Barnett that people should discipline themselves. Following the main idea of life, it is possible to get better results and to make it fast (Barnett).

I have always been a goal-setter. Thereby, my Ten Year Plan is focused on achieving my high ideals and realistic goals. From time to time, it seems that goals are something that we strive to achieve but fail due to personal reasons or social barriers.

However, I am completely sure that a good life plan and motivation can lead to success in spite of all problems that may occur. My Ten Year Life Plan helps me to specify my goals and to see the key moments and the most important steps which can lead me to success.

Importance of Future Plans Essay

“Winging it” might sound like an excellent mantra for today’s generation, but in an ideal world, you must remain practical. In present times, we are all hustling to become the best version of ourselves, to improve our standard of living in the future. However, that is not possible unless you sit down and think about future plans properly, way ahead of time. It is only if you have the plan sorted out and the strategies in place that you can meet your intended and desired goals. Besides, you are working to save yourself a significant amount of time, money, and hard work. If you are sure about what you want from life, there is no getting sidetracked. You will be motivated to work towards your goal. Otherwise, you might end up wasting the prime years of your life trying to figure out your plans for the future. One excellent way is to encapsulate your ideas in essay form. It will also be helpful to you while applying for colleges and universities.

Catchy Titles for An Essay About My Future Plans

  • Where do I see myself in the next ten years?
  • A note to my future self
  • A recipe for future success
  • A blueprint for my plans
  • A guide for a perfect future
  • A conversation with my older self
  • The milestones I want to achieve
  • Engineer in the making
  • My strategic career action plan
  • Plan my future 101

Do not jump directly into writing; start with an outline instead. It is pretty easy to be forgetful about things when your mind is occupied while writing. If you face the issue of getting sidetracked midway through your writing, it will be solved. By following a blueprint, you will be including the details that are entirely relevant to your essay. You will see the bigger picture from the very start instead of just going with the flow. It might seem unnecessary and a waste of time, but an outline can save you a significant amount of time in the end. Also, the quality of future plans and goals essay will not be compromised. Why is that? Well, you will be jotting down all the significant points in advance so that when you start writing, no idea is missed.

Outline writing

“What are your plans for the future” is an essay written without an outline that is likely to be cataclysmic. Always begin your essay writing process by forming an outline that stays in line with the topic. For instance, when attempting a “what are future plans” essay, jot down all the points in chunks. So, your financial goals will fall in a different cluster than your family plans. Let’s just cut to the chase; you need to brainstorm first. Next, group the points that are somehow related. Give headings to those clusters, and voila, you have an outline!

Tips concerning writing a Future Plans essay introduction

A boring introduction is likely to provoke your reader to grab a coffee mug. Nobody wants that. Try to start with an engaging hook. In this case, you are writing about “what are your plans” and writing something lively. It will send good vibes to the reader as they will unconsciously receive the idea that your plans must be excellent. Next, give a background about your past achievements. Do not get carried away. This paragraph needs to be holistic yet short and crisp. The last line of your introduction part must serve as a bridge to the first body paragraph. Try to check a future plan example essay before you start with your essay.

Keep a strict check on the length of body paragraphs as they must be equal. Divide your plans for the future into several chunks. Every paragraph must be dedicated to one central area. The last line of each one should be written so that the reader does not feel in a different realm when they get to the next paragraph. Remember, your words must help the reader spiral down smoothly to the conclusion. So, transition words and connectors will help a lot.

Writing Conclusions for a Future Plans Essay

Now, most of you might have developed the habit of writing a conclusion carelessly. It is always treated as a foster child in the world of writing by many. Do not repeat this. Keep it as breezy as you wrote your introduction paragraph. A summary of your plans will not do justice. Instead, highlight the main points and end your essay with a positive future-oriented note. Before writing this essay, check out some future plan examples and not forget to see how people make future plans.

The last finishing touches before finalization of your essay require you to edit your work to perfection. Here it would help if you were doing the following:

Essay Revision

Revise your work for any structural or organizational problems. It means checking your paragraphing and the way you have used transitions throughout. Look out for instructions like the word count and formatting, and make sure you have done what is expected.

Essay Proofreading

It is a practice of going through your work again to identify any surface mistakes. These include typos, spelling mistakes as well as grammatical ones. You can take help from editing tools like Grammarly or turn towards a reliable friend to provide an unbiased and unfiltered review of your essay on future plans in life.

Make Citations

Finally, if your work demands you to insert references from other sources, do not forget to include them at the end of your essay about the future. A failure to do so, in that case, can mean a reduction in scores.

My Future Plans Essay

It is said that the future is unpredictable. However, it does not mean that we cannot prepare and make plans for it. Having plans are like motivators; they guide us all along. I happen to have a clear set of goals and aims. It does not stop here, as there are plan Bs and Cs too. Being a college student, I am open to the thought of having much turbulence in life.

My education and career goals are somewhat elaborate. I want to get a business degree from the finest business school out there. In the long term, I expect to become a marketing manager. For this reason, I have started working as an unpaid intern in several marketing departments to get experience. Other than this, I am also offering free sales services. It will polish my negotiation skills as I ultimately want to be someone who runs a department.

Apart from the financial goals, I plan to visit the Grand Canyons. The adventurer inside me wants to experience an adrenaline rush in the wild. The plan does not end here as the mountaineer inside me wants to attempt a climb at Annapurna. I have been practicing mountain climbing all my life, which I have been looking forward to. Next year, I plan to visit Dubai. The famous base jump from Burj Khalifa is on my bucket list.

Speaking of the bucket list, I want to marry jill, my fiancé. We have been planning our wedding since forever. A house in the suburbs, two beautiful kids, and peaceful life is what I want. To give my family complete attention, I have started investing my savings in multiple businesses. So, in the long term, I will not have to worry about supporting myself and my family. Like the other adventures that I have planned, I want to go on multiple vacations with my family.

Future planning has helped me stay positive. It has aligned everything that I do with the more significant goals. Without this bucket list, I would have never wanted to work as an intern. The hustler inside me wants to go on all of the adventures, from the base jump and Annapurna to hosting a birthday party for my 2-year-old. My plans are huge yet achievable, and the catch is that I have to take every step mindfully and stay determined.

Thank you for subscribing!

For your college scholarship essay, you may be asked about your career goals. The scholarship committee wants to see how investing in your education will help your career. Do you have a definitive plan? Will a college education fit into that plan? These are the answers they want to see.

In this guide, we will provide some scholarship essay examples about career goals to jumpstart your essay writing.

Writing tips for career goals scholarship essays

Here are some quick tips for writing career goal scholarship essays:

  • Write about career goals that tie into the scholarship. This doesn’t mean you have to lie about your career goals to make them fit. Find a way to relate them to the scholarship committee or other elements of the scholarship.
  • Be precise about your career goals. Avoid vague statements that suggest you do not have a plan. Judges like to see determination because it shows they’re making a worthy educational investment.
  • Discuss how your education will help you achieve your career goals. The scholarship will assist with your education. Show a connection between the two so they can see why you deserve this scholarship.
  • If you mention multiple goals, indicate which one you feel most strongly about. Longer essays may allow you to mention a backup plan, but the committee needs to see where your focus lies.
  • Avoid cliché statements. Describe how your specific talents, experiences, and degree pursuits will help you succeed.
  • Point out solutions, not problems. You may mention struggles you’ve had in the past, but pinpoint how you will learn from them. Moreover, show how those struggles led to your career goals.
  • Organize your thoughts in a fluid manner. This will most likely be in chronological order, starting with your degree and progressing through your career growth.
  • Write, revise, rest, revise. This goes for any essay writing. Write the first draft from start to finish. Then read through it and edit any grammar or flow errors. Take a break, preferably overnight, and then re-read your content with fresh eyes.

Writing tips for college students

Example 1: Scholarship essay about career goals (100 words)

In a 100-word scholarship essay, you need to quickly make your point. There is not enough room for a lengthy intro or backstory. Use concise, comprehensive statements to deliver the most information in the fewest words.

I’m a sophomore at Texas Tech University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Companion Animal Science. After graduation, I hope to attend Texas A&M to become a veterinarian serving rescue organizations and animal shelters. I was born and raised in the south, where it is common for people to abandon animals in rural areas. Those animals then go into a rescue – emaciated, frightened, and confused. I want to work with rescues to provide affordable veterinary medicine to the animals they save. This scholarship would help me continue my education and potentially save thousands of abandoned animals in the future.

Word count: 99

Example 2: Scholarship essay about career goals (250 words)

With a 250-word scholarship essay, you have a little more room to discuss the details of your career goals. You can explain situations from your past that inspired your career pursuits. You could use one paragraph to talk about your short-term goals and another to talk about your long-term goals. Just make sure the big picture ties into the scholarship.

My name is Patrick Holden and I am a freshman at the University of Michigan, majoring in English and minoring in linguistics. I plan to become an English teacher, but this wasn’t always what I had in mind.  When thinking about my future, I always saw myself in some sort of corporate office, perhaps as an executive assistant or a loan officer at a bank. My father works in the finance office for a car dealership and my mother works at a call center. I assumed I would follow a similar, albeit boring, path in life. In my junior year of high school, everything changed. My English teacher inspired me in ways I could have never imagined. She got me to love writing, literature, etymology, and everything about the English language. She made me want to be a better student in all of my classes, and she helped me see the value of education. I decided then that I wanted to inspire other students just as she did for me. My parents are unfortunately not able to contribute much toward my college expenses. I have earned a tuition scholarship based on my ACT score, but I still need additional funding for books and supplies. English majors have particularly high book costs because we have to purchase multiple books for each class. With the help of this scholarship, I could afford to continue my degree and become an English teacher.

Word count: 240

Example 3: Scholarship essay about career goals (500 words)

With 500 words or more to play around with, you have plenty of space to talk about your career goals. Maintain the same theme throughout the scholarship essay. Each paragraph should connect to the next, and they should all work together to describe your career plan. Avoid making disconnected statements for the sake of word count. In the end, the scholarship committee should have a clear view of your educational plans and professional aspirations.

Internet marketing has gone from an optional method of advertisement to a vital step in business outreach. Even small businesses in remote towns look to the internet to attract customers and spread the word about their services. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing with an emphasis on Digital Marketing. With this training, I will be able to enter a profession that will only grow year by year. When I was younger, I found print advertisements to be fascinating. I loved reading the newspaper with my father just to see the full-page ads in between stories. When I got older though, those ads became less appealing because they were not adaptive. They seemed dated, static and ill-fit for changes in society. That’s when I discovered internet marketing. It was still in its infancy when I was in middle school, but by the time I graduated high school, it had become a staple in business development. I loved the way internet marketers had to constantly adjust to fit Google’s algorithms, new mobile devices, and new audiences. I knew this was the career for me. Originally, I planned to focus solely on business marketing because there were not many digital marketing degrees available. Over the last two years though, several schools throughout the country have developed internet marketing courses that explain fundamental methods of search engine optimization, website analytics, and more. These are the foundations I will build my career around. The best part about internet marketing is that there is always something new to learn. I can use my creative mind and exploratory nature to try new advertising methods that help businesses succeed. Every time they do well, I do well. This is the kind of job fulfillment most people can only dream of, but my educational plan and job prospects will allow me to achieve it. I have picked up some freelance jobs online to supplement my studies and help pay for my education. It is difficult to maintain a steady stream of income in freelance because I spend so much time on my school work. This scholarship could offset some of the costs and reduce my workload as a whole. While I will still work throughout the semester and full-time in the summers, having extra financial aid would greatly reduce my stress in college. I look forward to a future where I can use my marketing skills to help business owners achieve their career goals. I plan to spend the first few years after graduation working for a successful, long-standing digital marketing company. After I have enough on-the-job training to feel confident in my abilities, I will open my own internet marketing company in Chicago, where my family lives. I have a clear picture of where I will be in the next 10 years, and I know this degree is going to help me get there.

N.C.A.A. Athletes’ Pay Deal Raises Questions About Future of College Sports

The landmark settlement made many wonder what the reality — and impact — of revenue-sharing plans with college athletes would look like.

Teams play on a football field. One set of goal posts is in the foreground. In the distance, behind some seating, is a sign that says, “Welcome to Folsom Field.”

By David W. Chen ,  Jacey Fortin and Anna Betts

Brent Jacquette knows a thing or two about college sports. A former collegiate soccer player and coach in Pennsylvania who is now an executive at a consulting firm for athletic recruiting, he’s well aware of issues surrounding pay for college athletes.

But even for an industry veteran like Mr. Jacquette, the news of the N.C.A.A.’s staggering settlement in a class-action antitrust lawsuit on Thursday came as a surprise, with more than a little anxiety. The first words that came to mind, he said, were “trepidation” and “confusion.”

And he was not alone in feeling unsettled. Interviews, statements and social media posts mere hours after the settlement was announced showed that many were uncertain and concerned about what the future of collegiate sports holds.

“These are unprecedented times, and these decisions will have a seismic effect on the permanent landscape of collegiate athletics,” Phil DiStefano, chancellor of the University of Colorado Boulder, and Rick George, the school’s athletic director, said in a statement .

If the $2.8 billion settlement is approved by a judge, it would allow for a revenue-sharing plan through which Division I athletes can be paid directly by their schools for playing sports — a first in the nearly 120-year history of the N.C.A.A. Division 1 schools would be allowed to use about $20 million a year to pay their athletes as soon as the 2025 football season.

Mr. Jacquette thought of the word “trepidation” because of the impact that the settlement, shaped by the biggest and wealthiest universities with robust football programs, could have on coaches and athletes at smaller institutions and in low-profile sports.

And “confusion," because families of college athletes might soon be overwhelmed by all the possible ways for a student to get paid. In past years, the only form of compensation that students could get was athletic scholarships. But now, with the possibility of a revenue-sharing plan and pay arrangements involving students’ name, image and likeness , they have a lot more to consider when planning their collegiate sports careers.

“As this makes big news, people see this pot of gold at the end of the tunnel,” Mr. Jacquette said.

Many questioned what the financial burdens stemming from a revenue-sharing plan would look like.

Smaller conferences, such as the Big East — which includes Georgetown, Villanova and the University of Connecticut — have voiced “strong objections ” to the settlement, worried about shouldering an unfair burden of costs involved in revenue sharing. They said schools that have higher-profile sports teams and are part of bigger conferences, which often have TV contracts and much higher revenues, should be responsible for covering more of the costs.

Even coaches at powerful athletic programs, such as the University of Florida, which is part of the Southeastern Conference, had qualms. Tim Walton, the school’s softball coach, wondered in an interview with The Associated Press what this would mean for smaller sports programs on campus, and how the university would handle sharing revenues with athletes.

Another concern from critics of the settlement was whether female athletes would be compensated fairly. The settlement did not address how they would be paid compared to men, but Title IX prohibits sex-based discrimination in educational settings.

“Oftentimes, we put all of our eggs in the revenue-generating sports, which is comprised of mostly male sports,” said Jasher Cox, athletic director of Allen University, a historically Black and Division II school in South Carolina.

But many still questioned how the settlement would pan out in practice. Terry Connor, the athletic director at Thomas More University in Kentucky, said in an interview that the reality of revenue sharing felt somewhat distant. Although his school is Division II and would not necessarily be part of a revenue-sharing plan, Mr. Connor said that this still affects college sports as a whole.

The settlement is only the latest in a series of big changes at the N.C.A.A. in recent years, Mr. Connor said, and “how we’ll have to adapt to that is going to be the big question.”

Mr. Jacquette cautioned that it was still “premature” to assess the full impact of the settlement, since the details had not been released. And Sam C. Ehrlich, a professor at Boise State University who has written extensively about college athletes, said that while the settlement was a milestone, it should not be seen as the be-all and end-all of college sports.

Pointing to the Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling in 2021 that the N.C.A.A. could not bar payments to college athletes, Mr. Ehrlich said the college sports landscape has been ever-changing. That decision paved the way for N.I.L. arrangements, or payments based on an athlete’s name, image and likeness. He also cited Johnson v. N.C.A.A. , a pending case over whether college athletes should be classified as employees, which could have profound labor and tax implications.

“This is a big moment, for sure, but it’s not like we have reached the finish line,” Mr. Ehrlich said. “I wouldn’t even necessarily go as far to say, ‘this is the climax here.’ This is still going to be ongoing for several years.”

“I wish I had more downtime — I would’ve done stuff already,” she told the outlet. “[But] because I’m in front of the camera, it’s not like I can do something and then sit in my house recuperating for weeks.”

And while she hasn’t gone under the knife yet, Vergara said that she’s a regular fan of Botox and dislikes fillers.

“I don’t believe in filler,” she confessed. “I feel filler does good when you’re really young and you want a little bit more cheeks or to plump your lips a little bit.”

“At my age — 51 — I feel it’s not going to make you look younger. It is going to make you look more done,” the Colombian beauty added.

When asked why she’s such a fan of plastic surgery, Vergara praised that it can alter whichever aspect of your appearance you want.

“I feel like you have to take advantage of everything that is out there,” she explained. “I mean, if you care about aging. Nothing wrong if you don’t care about it. It’s not the end of the world. But if you do, now there’s so much stuff out there.”

Earlier this month, the actress expressed her dislike for aging and admitted she would do everything to slow that process down.

“I’m going to fight it every step of the way,” Vergara told People . “I know I don’t look the same. But I don’t think I am going to ever be the woman that has the courage to be, like, all-white hair.”

“Life has not always been easy,” she continued, “but I’ve never felt stronger.”

Financial Steps to Take Before, During and After a Divorce

Yes, your life is already plenty complicated, but taking these steps may save you future headaches.

Financial Steps to Take During A Divorce

A divorce does not have to be messy if you careful plan your finances before decisions are binding.

Key Takeaways

  • Before the divorce, assess your shared financial situation and seek guidance from a certified financial planner or other licensed professional.
  • During the divorce, focus on your priorities, be vigilant about the proceedings and consider necessary lifestyle changes.
  • After the divorce, reexamine your goals, construct a new plan with a financial advisor and give yourself grace as you adjust to a new chapter.

Divorces involve settling a wide range of issues – including the division of assets and debts, and in some cases the assignment of alimony or spousal support.

While the proceedings can be lengthy, it's important to advocate for yourself throughout the process because the decisions are binding.

If you're not sure about the best course of action before, during and after a divorce, read on for advice from financial experts.

Financial Steps To Take Throughout a Divorce

Navigating a divorce is often complicated, but these steps can help you protect your financial interests.

Before the Divorce

As you prepare for a divorce, set aside time for an in-depth assessment of your financial situation .

" The most important thing for someone going into a divorce to do is to become knowledgeable about their own family finances," Reid A. Aronson, partner at family and matrimonial law firm Aronson, Mayefsky and Sloan, said in an email.

Aronson recommended asking yourself the following questions:

  • How much do you and your spouse make?
  • What account or accounts does that money go into?
  • What are your monthly expenses?
  • Which of those expenses are fixed (e.g. housing, private school tuition, medical insurance) and which are flexible (e.g. food, clothing, vacations)?
  • What assets do you have and what institutions hold them?

"Uncertainty about finances can create a tremendous amount of added anxiety, and anxiety can lead to very poor decision-making, including decision-making regarding litigation or settlement," Aronson said. It's important to gather the information without the help of your soon-to-be ex-spouse.

"Don't rely on the information your ex gives you because they're not on the same team anymore," Rachel Burns, a certified financial planner at True Worth Financial Planning, said in an email.

Further, consider getting professional guidance.

"Once you know you’re about to go through a divorce, it's prudent to bring financial professionals into the mix," Sarah Jacobs, co-founder of New Jersey-based matrimonial and family law firm, Jacobs Berger, said in an email.

She explained that accountants and financial planners can bring you immense value, especially if you're moving, selling assets, filing taxes and looking to build credit.

"While your divorce attorney should be savvy and ask the right questions, they aren’t financial experts," Berger said.

During the Divorce

Once the divorce is underway, make sure you know where your priorities lie.

"Thoughtful, educated decisions, focused on what matters to you, are the best way to settle a case. Define what 'winning' really means, and then let the law work for you to achieve those goals," Jacobs said.

From there, the key is staying focused on the outcome you want and engaged in the proceedings.

"Divorce can be a long, draining process, but you need to stay vigilant when it comes to the finances. You'll be making decisions that will likely impact your finances for many years to come, and you can't go back and change them once it's done," Burns said.

It can also help to start thinking about lifestyle adjustments you may need to make.

"Many of a family’s largest expenses, especially housing, are going to be much higher post-divorce. This means that for the vast majority of people, their lifestyle post-divorce is going to have to change because the family income cannot maintain two households at the exact same level that it maintained one household," Aronson said.

The sooner you can accept the changes you need to make and adjust your expectations, he said, the easier it'll be to resolve the divorce and move forward.

After the Divorce

When the divorce is settled you can breathe a sigh of relief and begin building the future you want. A good place to start is reassessing your financial goals, which may have drastically changed during the divorce.

"These might include short-term goals like replacing a car or buying a home or long-term goals like retirement," Burns said.

From there, strategize a plan to bring your goals to life.

Once a person knows what their finances will look like after the divorce, they should put together a long-term financial plan with a certified financial planner if they can afford to do so, Aronson said.

"In particular, if your settlement agreement creates future obligations, like paying for college, make sure that your plan provides for paying those obligations," Aronson added.

He also recommended planning where you want to be 10, 20 and 30 years down the line.

On a final note, don't be too hard on yourself. You're starting over, so give yourself time to find a new rhythm.

"If you're feeling overwhelmed by your post-divorce finances, you're not alone," Burns said. "No one expects you to be a financial expert, and you don't need to feel embarrassed about a lack of financial savvy. However, you are solely responsible for your finances going forward, so now is a great time to take an active role."
