Meet David Smook, Lucy Pribas, Anthony Voitik & Louise Fonda
The partnership that makes up Homework came together in 2007 to create a tasteful and trendy shopping experience that Prince George really hadn’t seen much of. The four owners, David Smook, Lucy Pribas, Anthony Voitik and Louise Fonda together made that vision into a reality and a successful one at that.
A top notch customer experience was of the utmost importance for the entrepreneurs. With that being said, Homework was on the front lines of an upward trend towards the revitalization of Prince George's downtown core. Downtown was becoming the place to be.
Unfortunately in 2015, a blaze burned through the business, utterly destroying everything the partnership had worked so hard to build. Thankfully there was a silver lining for Homework and the four partners saw their passion and hard work result in the new Homework, reopened and completely transformed into a space bigger and better than ever.
Without the support of the community, Homework would not have had the opportunity to thrive under such trying times. Prince George truly is a community with compassion.

Prince George Is All Grown Up In Brand-New Birthday Portrait
Senior Reporter, HuffPost
Prince George is 11!
The future king looked all grown up in a new black-and-white birthday portrait, released by Prince William and Kate Middleton on the young prince’s birthday, July 22.
“Wishing Prince George a very happy 11th birthday today!” read the caption on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media accounts.
The photo was attributed to Kate, who regularly snaps photos for her family’s big occasions.

Earlier this year, the Princess of Wales was enveloped in a photo editing controversy after Kensington Palace released the first photo of Kate and her three children after a long public absence following her abdominal surgery in January.
Several international news agencies retracted the image , which was released over Mother’s Day in the U.K. back in March, as it appeared digitally manipulated in a few different places.
The royal apologized for the uproar the day after the picture was released.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,” the Princess of Wales said in a message shared on X , formerly known as Twitter. “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
Just over a week later, the Princess of Wales would go on to tell the world that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer .
Last month, Kate shared an update on her journey with cancer , and told followers that she is “making good progress.”
“As anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she said in a deeply personal note, later adding that her “treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
Since she released the note in June, Kate has appeared in public with family members twice: at Trooping the Color celebrations in June, and again at the men’s final of Wimbledon in July.

The hidden detail in Prince George's birthday portrait many fans missed
The princess of wales took the snapshot to celebrate her son turning 11.
A new photo of Prince George taken by his mother the Princess of Wales was released on Monday to celebrate the future King's 11th birthday.
But some royal fans may have missed one small detail as the black-and-white snap was uploaded to William and Kate's official Instagram account.
It turns out the picture that appeared on the couple's main feed was a slightly cropped version of the original photo, and cut out George 's hands.
The full version was uploaded to their Instagram Stories, very sweetly revealing that the royal tween is actually wearing a friendship bracelet on his left wrist.
Kensington Palace declined to reveal who gave George the accessory.
His mother Kate, 42, took the photo earlier this month in Windsor. The snap shows George beaming at the camera, leaning slightly forwards as he sits on a stone bench, and looking very smart and grown-up in his suit.
The caption read: "Wishing Prince George a very happy 11th birthday today!"
In line with the new precedent they set for Princess Charlotte's ninth birthday in May and Prince Louis' sixth birthday in April, William and Kate posted the image directly on social media on George's special day on 22 July, rather than under embargo to the press as was the tradition.
Attending the Euros
George's birthday portrait may well have been taken ahead of his appearance at the Euros in mid-July as he seems to be sporting the same outfit.
The Prince travelled to Germany with his father William to watch England vs Spain in the Euro 2024 final . Sadly there was heartache for the Three Lions as they lost 2-1, with Spain securing a last-minute goal to take home the trophy.
George shares his parents' love of sport, joining them at various major events in recent years, including the Six Nations, Wimbledon, and the Euros. And like his father, William, he's an avid Aston Villa follower.

The youngster isn't the only one of his siblings who appears to have a liking for friendship bracelets.
On the same day that George was attending the Euros final, his younger sister Princess Charlotte joined their mother Kate at the Wimbledon men's singles final.

Proving to be her mother's mini-me when it comes to style, Charlotte, nine, accessorised her summer dress with a series of bracelets, including one that featured her name in Arabic script .
Another was a gold link bracelet featuring a turquoise nazar amulet, said to ward off bad luck, while Charlotte also wore two friendship bracelets in pink and green, perhaps inspired by her outing to Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour last month.
George and Charlotte's grandfather, King Charles, has also been spotted wearing a similar braided friendship bracelet, this time in red and yellow, prompting royal fans to suggest it may have been a gift from Kate.
His Majesty was first spotted wearing it on a visit to Cardiff on 11 July and again in Jersey last week.

George's mother, Princess Kate, stepped out of the public eye earlier this year and revealed in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer. In a video announcing her diagnosis , Kate said it took her time "to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that's appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I'm going to be OK."
In June, Princess Kate made her public return at Trooping the Colour , a celebration of King Charles' birthday. Last week, she attended the men's singles final at Wimbledon, her second public appearance since the cancer diagnosis was announced. The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a portrait of Prince George to celebrate his eleventh birthday.
The black and white image, taken by Kate earlier this month, shows the future King wearing an open-necked white shirt and pristine dark suit.
The Waleses shared the close-up portrait of George on social media, alongside the message: “Wishing Prince George a very happy 11th birthday today!”
The young royal’s birthday comes after a tough year in which he, and two siblings, had to deal with the news of his mother, the Princess of Wales, undergoing cancer treatment, as well as his grandfather King Charles’s own cancer diagnosis.
George’s birthday celebrations come after he travelled with his father to Berlin in Germany to cheer on England in the Euro 2024 final and witnessed their defeat to Spain.
The prince and his nine-year-old sister, Princess Charlotte, also joined William at a Taylor Swift concert at Wembley Stadium at the end of June to celebrate their father’s 42nd birthday.
The royals were pictured smiling with the US singer in a backstage selfie, while Swift’s boyfriend, American footballer Travis Kelce, said the royal children were “an absolute delight”.
George, second in line to the throne, also appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the royal family in June to celebrate the King’s official birthday.
It was Kate’s first public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
George had earlier joined Kate, Charlotte and his six-year-old brother Prince Louis in a carriage as they travelled down The Mall for the traditional Trooping the Colour ceremony.
George and his father presented the FA Cup to winners Manchester United at Wembley in May.
The young prince shook hands with both teams, exchanged a few words with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and also spoke briefly with former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson following the full-time whistle.
William is president of the Football Association and a passionate Aston Villa fan, and has taken George to the club’s matches on multiple occasions this year, with the young prince often sporting the team’s scarf.
In April, they watched Aston Villa’s match against Lille in the Europa Conference League quarter-finals – their first public outing since Kate’s cancer diagnosis announcement.
Prince George Alexander Louis was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London, at 4.24pm on July 22 2013, weighing 8lb 6oz.

What Back-to-School Looks Like For Royals: Here's What Prince George Can Expect in Year 1
In September of last year, Prince George made headlines when the adorable photos of him on his first day of full-day school at Thomas's Battersea School were released. Then he made headlines again when Prince William commented that his 4-year-old wasn't exactly fond of school a few days in. Now we're about to start the cycle over again since the new school year is about to begin, and spoiler alert: royals aren't spared from homework, so there's no telling what the young prince's reaction to his Year 1 (equivalent to kindergarten) curriculum will be.
According to the school's curriculum guide for the 2017-2018 school year (assuming it won't change too much for this year), it looks like George's time spent in Year 1 will be busy . "Year 1 sees the beginning of a more formalized learning program. Children in Year 1 become increasingly independent and confident and begin to relish the opportunity to tackle new challenges presented to them across the broad curriculum," the Year 1 guide reads.
The guide reports that George and his peers will spend their learning time on the subjects of literacy, math, science, history and geography, religious studies, French, computing, art and design technology, drama, music, physical education, ballet, and, last but certainly not least for this particular age group, personal, social, health, and citizenship education. Although that seems like a full plate, not much of it will follow the young prince home. According to the homework section of the Year 1 guide, George will have 10 minutes of reading homework per night, as well as a new spelling rule or pattern each week.
However, that's not to say that Kate and Will won't have to do their parts at home. "The School recognizes the importance of a healthy home/school partnership and values the role of parents in the home," the guide reads. "It also provides opportunities for them to contribute to the personal and social development of the children through active involvement in the life of the school."
Looks like Thomas's Battersea has high expectations for its students and their parents, so we're wishing George, Will, and Kate the best! Until George's new first-day-of-school photos are taken, keep reading for a peek at his first day of Reception (preschool) photos from last year, as well as his sweet nursery school portraits from 2016.

Due to the high demand of the program, submitting a request form does not guarantee a position in the Homework Help program.
The Homework Help program has been a cornerstone of our community since 2015, offering a profound impact on many young lives. It is with great excitement and thankfulness that we can bring back this program once more in-person for those who need extra supports in their learning and are wanting to build their academic confidence and skills in a safe and welcoming space.
This educational program is made possible this year thanks to the Enhancement Grant funding from the Province of British Columbia.

Royal friends forever.
Prince George looked all grown up in his 11th birthday portrait , released Monday, but eagle-eyed fans spotted a sweet detail in his picture: a braided friendship bracelet just like the ones his sister, Princess Charlotte, and grandfather, King Charles III, have worn this summer.
The future king looked dapper in a black suit for the photo — snapped by mom Kate Middleton, 42 —pairing his business-like look with what appears to be the same embroidery thread bracelet he wore with a navy suit to the Euros finals on July 14.
King Charles III, 75, and Princess Charlotte, 9, also got in on the friendship fun at recent royal events, sporting the homemade-style pieces as well.
Charlotte — who fans speculate could be the artist behind the looks — wore two during a trip to the Wimbledon championships with mom Kate Middleton , 42, and aunt Pippa Middleton, 40, while George and dad Prince William, 42, were in Germany.
She wore her pink-and-purple and rainbow-hued bracelets with a navy polka-dot dress and pink Ray-Ban sunglasses ($102) while taking in the men’s tennis finals.
Her grandpa (otherwise known as the king) went on to wear a similar style around his wrist for a royal visit to the Channel Islands with Queen Camilla last week.
The British monarch revealed a bracelet made from twisted fuchsia and white thread as he waved to crowds in Guernsey on July 16, wearing the knotted design with a gray suit and white dress shirt.
Perhaps one of his grandkids made the style so they could stay close (and match) wherever they go.

Prince George's Workload For The Upcoming School Year Is Pretty Rigorous
If your kiddos haven't returned to school already, then they're probably gearing up for back-to-school time within the next couple of weeks. And guess what? So are the royal children! Both Prince George and Princess Charlotte will attend Thomas's Battersea starting in early September. And naturally, some royal fans might be wondering: Does Prince George do homework ?
The young prince will officially begin Year 2 at the Thomas's Battersea on Sept. 5, People reported. And it looks like he's got a demanding school year in store for him. Prince George, who is third in line to the throne, behind Prince William, and Prince Charles, will focus on core subjects like english, math, science, history, and geography, a pretty standard lineup However, the young royal will also study French, computing, religious studies, art/design technology, music, dram. P.E., and ballet. Whew! His curriculum seems like it will be well-rounded, that's for sure.
“ The curriculum presented in Year 2 reflects the increased ability of the children, both academically and socially,” Helen Haslem, Head of Lower School, explains on the schools website, according to E! News. “It sees the completion of the basic skills in literacy and numeracy in Key Stage 1. Individual strengths and talents begin to emerge, which you will undoubtedly begin to see.”
So will Prince George have homework this school year? It appears so, according to Thomas's Battersa's website. Haslem continued:
The children are asked to become more responsible in Year 2; this may start with the children recording their own homework in their diaries. This increasing independence allows for a smooth transition to the Prep School.
It looks like Prince William and Kate Middleton will have to make sure Prince George completes his daily homework, which will include 10 minutes of reading homework every night, according to She Knows. Additionally, George will bring home a spelling rule on a weekly basis, while 20 minutes of other homework tasks might be sent home every once in a while, according to the outlet.
Is it just me, or does this all seem a bit intense for a 6-year-old? Then again, Prince George is a royal, and Thomas's Battersea does cost $23,000 per year to attend. Not to mention, the school's website describes it as “a big, busy, slightly chaotic school for cosmopolitan parents who want their children to have the best English education money can buy ,” according to the Good Schools Guide. “That is what they want and, to a large degree, that is what they get.”
So yeah. I guess expectations are high and the school is a bit competitive.
It's worth noting Princess Charlotte, 4, will be joining her big brother at Thomas's Battersea in September, too. “ She can’t wait to be with George at big school” an insider told People . “She’s so excited about it all.”
Considering there were photos taken of Prince George's first day at Thomas's Battersea, I have a feeling the world will be seeing shots of the royal siblings heading off to their first day of school together in just a few weeks. And on that note, have a great school year, Prince George and Princess Charlotte!
Prince George Can Expect More Homework at School This Year
The young royal goes back to school next month. Here's what he'll be learning from math to music.
Prince George is scheduled to head back to school early next month, and it looks like the young royal will have a lot to look forward to.
Last year was George's first year of full-time education, as a "reception year" student. This year, George will settle into more structured learning courses. As the Thomas's Battersea curriculum guide explains, "Year 1 sees the beginning of a more formalized learning program. Children in Year 1 become increasingly independent and confident and begin to relish the opportunity to tackle new challenges presented to them across the broad curriculum."
As Vogue notes, George will take classes like math, English, science, history, geography, and religious studies this year. Special courses include French, music, drama, ballet, and physical education, which features games, gymnastics, and swimming.
Parents Prince William and Kate Middleton will also help out at home, as the school's curriculum guide also mentions that the school values "the importance of a healthy home/school partnership and values the role of parents in the home. It also provides opportunities for them to contribute to the personal and social development of the children through active involvement in the life of the school."
And George will have some work to do when he gets out of class. Reading homework is sent home every night, and a spelling rule or pattern is sent home each week.
George first started at Thomas's Battersea last year , where he was greeted by Helen Haslem, the Head of Lower School, who escorted the new student to his classroom. Haslem and Prince William walked the tot through the school gates, but Kate wasn't able to join them, as she was expecting the couple's third child at the time, and was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of extreme pregnancy nausea.
Kensington Palace hasn't announced if Kate will accompany George to school this year, but it's likely she will, as she was on hand to take pictures of Princess Charlotte when she started nursery school earlier this year.

Kate Middleton shares new photo of Prince George on his 11th birthday
Prince George, the eldest child of Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales , is celebrating his 11th birthday.
The royals marked George's birthday by sharing a new photo taken by his mom, Kate.
The photo was taken earlier this month in Windsor, England, where the Wales family lives, according to Kensington Palace.
George, second in line to the throne after his father, is the older sibling of William and Kate's two other children, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
Just one week before his birthday, George enjoyed a one-on-one trip with William to Berlin, where the soccer-loving pair watched England take on Spain in the 2024 UEFA European Championship final. (Unfortunately for the royal pair, England fell 2-1.)
Earlier this summer, George and his sister Charlotte joined William at Taylor Swift's first London show of her "Eras Tour" on June 21.
Swift shared a sweet selfie on Instagram of herself and her boyfriend Travis Kelce posing with William, George and Charlotte at the concert at Wembley Stadium.
