विमुद्रीकरण एक महत्वपूर्ण अर्थशास्त्रीय कार्य है जो किसी देश की मुद्रा को अन्य राष्ट्रों की मुद्राओं के साथ तुलना करने के लिए किया जाता है। भारत का विमुद्रीकरण भी एक महत्वपूर्ण विषय है जिसने देश की आर्थिक इतिहास में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है।

भारत का विमुद्रीकरण निरंतर उन्नति का मार्गदर्शन करता रहा है। सन् 1947 में भारत की स्वतंत्रता के बाद से आज तक, विमुद्रीकरण ने देश की अर्थव्यवस्था में विशेष महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है। पहले, भारत की मुद्रा का मूल्य ब्रिटिश पाउंड के खिलाफ निर्धारित था। इसके बाद से, भारतीय रुपया ने अपनी अलग पहचान बनाई है और अब वह एक स्वतंत्र और सशक्त मुद्रा है।

भारत का विमुद्रीकरण अनेक चुनौतियों और परिस्थितियों का सामना करता रहा है। इसके बावजूद, विमुद्रीकरण ने देश को अनेक लाभ प्रदान किए हैं। यह देश के व्यापार, उद्योग, और वित्तीय संस्थाओं के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है और इसने भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था को विश्वस्तरीय बाजार में बढ़ावा दिया है।

भारत सरकार ने 8 नवंबर 2016 को सभी 500 और 1000 रुपये के नोटों पर प्रतिबंध लगाने का एक बड़ा फैसला लिया। प्रधानमंत्री ने इसे "सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक" के रूप में वर्णित किया, जिसका मुख्य उद्देश्य था नकली मुद्रा पर रोक लगाना और अर्थव्यवस्था को स्वच्छ करना।
