We know, real University Doctorate education takes grit, extreme dedication, extensions of finance, and true-blue hard work. On the other hand, to buy a PhD qualification Online, at the Doctorate level , on the basis of Life Experience , takes a mere few minutes and a credit card number. Many purchase their online diploma for accolades, but there are those, whom get their certificate with intent of fraud. for example, a common frivolous practice, is to obtain the parchment in, say. English or Teaching, albeit, with unrecognized accrediting organizations , and attempt to use this for monetary gain in another country. For their economic advantage, others will consider using this for employment or promotion purposes, dubiously, we would add. “To buy--or not to buy,” that is the question. Do your homework, and due diligence. Check all laws pertaining to the use of such accredited online articles, most importantly, regarding any other use, aside from “a Correspondence Doctorate ornament on your office wall.”

An online Ph.D. program or doctorate can offer many compelling features for students, but it might not be the right choice for everyone. Consider the questions below when deciding whether to pursue your doctorate online or in person.

  • What type of schedule do you need? Online programs typically offer more flexibility that appeals to students who work full time or have personal responsibilities to fit around their school schedule. Online degrees allow learners to pursue higher education without putting their career on hold. This is especially true for programs that offer asynchronous coursework that students complete on their own time.
  • What learning style works best for you? Do you work well independently and with a lot of freedom? If so, an online doctorate might be a good fit for you. If you think you’d prefer the camaraderie of an in-person cohort graduate program and structured opportunities to interact with instructors, an on-campus or hybrid program might suit you better.
  • How does the program format affect your budget? Online programs can help you save on tuition, housing and transportation costs. For example, many public schools allow you to pay the same tuition, regardless of where you live. However, you might miss funding opportunities typically reserved for on-campus students, such as graduate teaching assistantships, research assistantships and fellowships.

The U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approve accrediting agencies that give schools institutional accreditation in the U.S.

Institutional accreditation means that a university has met minimum quality requirements related to its academics, financial management, faculty and staff, and student resources and services. To qualify for federal financial aid, you must attend an accredited college.

Programmatic accreditation is a separate process that gives special recognition to individual degrees, programs or departments within a university. Depending on your field, you might need a programmatically accredited degree to get a job or qualify for professional licenses or certifications.

You can search for a prospective school’s accreditation status on CHEA’s website .

Consider Your Future Goals

An online doctorate has the potential to help you achieve your career aspirations. However, not every program in your field will necessarily align with your goals. Before you choose an online doctorate program, think about your post-graduation plans.

For example, some online doctorate programs require professional experience through an internship or a practicum. This type of hands-on learning can help you develop your expertise and professional network. But these experiences usually take place in person and can be hard to fit into your schedule if you’re working full time.

You should also consider if you need a specific license or certification to get the job you want. If so, research the credential’s requirements to learn if your degree needs to meet certain criteria. For example, you may need to complete an accredited program or complete supervised clinical hours.

Understand Your Expenses and Financing Options

Tuition rates for online doctoral programs in our guide vary significantly, from $265 to $2,137 per credit. Most programs required 42 to 60 credits, with some exceptions. In total, the degrees ranked on our list cost between $9,540 and $113,400.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics , grad students at private, nonprofit schools paid an average tuition of $20,408 in 2022–23, while public school tuition cost $11,554 per year. Doctorate programs typically take at least three years to complete, putting total costs between $34,662 and $61,224.

Find funding for your online Ph.D. by filling out the FAFSA®, which can connect you with scholarships, grants and student loans. Many schools also provide funding to graduate students through scholarships, grants and fellowships.

Can you do a Ph.D. fully online?

Yes, many schools offer fully online Ph.D. programs. However, depending on the program and the field of study, you may need to complete on-campus residencies or field experiences like internships or practicums that take place in person.

What is the fastest Ph.D. to get online?

Program length for online Ph.D. programs varies depending on your field of study. You might be able to find some accelerated online Ph.D. programs that you can finish in less than two years. However, the best online doctoral programs on our list take at least three years to complete.

Are online doctoral degrees respected?

An online doctoral degree from an accredited university can provide the same rigorous education and training as a comparable on-campus program. If you’re concerned about whether or not your degree will be respected, consider doing some research about the way that your field or profession tends to view online doctoral degrees.

What is the best online school for a Ph.D.?

The best online school for a Ph.D. depends on your field of study, personal interests and career goals. Make sure that any prospective online school is institutionally accredited. Depending on the degree you want to pursue, it might also be important to find a program with separate programmatic accreditation.

Are Online Ph.D. Programs Worth It?

An online Ph.D. program is an ideal choice if you want to balance your career and family responsibilities along with your education.

While there are some preconceived notions that online programs aren’t legitimate, as long as the program you choose is accredited, the degree is the same as one earned in person.

While the annual tuition cost to earn a Ph.D. online averages $12,596 for a public institution and $28,017 for a private university, doctoral graduates enjoy a lower unemployment rate and higher weekly salary than those with less education, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Did You Know…

  • According to the BLS , workers with a doctoral degree earned a median of $616 more per week than workers with a bachelor’s degree in 2023.
  • Doctorate-holders boast some of the lowest unemployment rates at 1.6%.
  • In 2019, research found that 39.8% of graduate students were enrolled in online learning.
  • The number of doctorates awarded between 2020 and 2021 dropped by 5.4%.
  • Not all Ph.D.-holders end up working in academia.

Does Accreditation Matter for Online Ph.D. Programs?

A college is accredited after being recognized by an independent institution that verifies the school’s courses and programs meet set quality standards.

The school you choose must be accredited in order for your Ph.D. to be recognized by employers , earn professional licensures, and qualify you for federal financial aid.

Legitimate accreditors are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

How Much Does an Online Ph.D. Cost?

In general, you can expect to pay around $13,000-$30,000 per year in tuition and fees for your online Ph.D.

Several factors affect how much your Ph.D. program will cost, including:

  • Whether the program is fully funded
  • Whether your school is public or private
  • Whether you’re an in-state or out-of-state student
  • How long your program lasts (most Ph.D. programs take 5-7 years to complete)
  • How much financial aid you get

While many in-person and online doctoral programs in the U.S. are fully funded, these tend to be highly competitive.

One way to save money on your online Ph.D. is to attend a program that offers in-state tuition to residents. Make sure you submit the FAFSA each year so you can secure federal financial aid .

You may also need to budget for occasional travel to and from campus and research sites, especially as you work on your dissertation.

What’s the Difference Between a Ph.D. and a Doctorate?

While a Ph.D. and a doctoral degree, or doctorate, both signify the same level of education completed, their uses are different.

Doctorate is the broader term — a Ph.D. is a type of doctorate. Specifically, a Ph.D. is an academic degree that prepares you for a career in research or teaching in your field of study (such as science, English, or economics).

Besides a Ph.D., other types of doctorates include a doctor of medicine (MD), a doctor of education (Ed.D.), and a doctor of psychology (Psy.D.). These degrees are typically used in either an academic or professional setting.

Online Ph.D. Programs That Don’t Require a Dissertation

A dissertation is a final written project culminating in a student’s original research at the end of their Ph.D. program. A dissertation is typically presented and defended by its author. It’s typically required for degrees with an academic or research focus.

What Are the Highest Paying Doctoral Degrees?

Highest Paying Doctoral Degrees

Earning a doctoral degree can help scholars build a deeper foundation in their chosen field and open up better career paths. Although getting a PhD almost guarantees a better position, some doctoral degrees are more rewarding.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the following careers and average salaries represent the top 10% of wage earners in their respective fields:

Management Information Systems $161,930
Management $154,260
Information Technology $152,840
Nurse Practitioner $152,160
Public Administration $133,200
Project Management $128,420
Public Policy $126,060
Business Administration $126,040
Accounting $124,450
Supply Chain and Logistics $120,400

Factors that may raise or lower your salary, besides your level of education, include your experience, the industry in which you work, and your location.

Salary Increase

One of the most rewarding benefits of earning a graduate degree is the potential to increase your salary. The U.S. Census Bureau found that over the course of a person’s lifetime, someone with a doctoral degree earns $3.4 million on average.

Compare that with someone with a bachelor’s degree, who earns $2.1 million on average over the course of their lifetime. Earning an accelerated PhD could mean earning more than $1 million more.

Not all doctorates will bring in the same salary increase. LinkedIn indicates that people with PhD’s who work in the fields of Science and Engineering usually see the best pay overall. For example, the top 10% of medical scientists make, on average, close to $160,000 per year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The bottom 10% make just over $40,000 per year.

The primary difference between the top 10% and the bottom 10% is education level and experience. PhD holders in the sciences typically make much more money than those who only hold their bachelor’s or master’s degree.

What Are the Most Popular Doctorate Degrees?

Most Popular Doctorate Degrees

The highest paying doctoral degrees are not always the most rewarding path. Taking up a popular degree, for example, can expose students to more people, and some of them may have years of experience in their chosen field.

Having this academic setting may help students to improve their existing network and might unlock several high-paying positions that seek the specialization that they have.

Management $154,260
Information Technology $152,840
Finance $152,810
Nurse Practitioner $152,160
Psychology $132,070
Business Administration $126,040
Criminal Justice $125,680
Nursing Education $108,790
Higher Education $97,250
Counseling $96,090

Which PhD program you choose should depend on your interests and overall job satisfaction, not the potential salary level alone.

Intellectual Curiosity

Many people pursue their PhD because of their intellectual curiosity and desire to learn. For fields that don’t report a significant pay increase over a master’s or bachelor’s degree (like the humanities), PhD holders often spend the years it takes earning their degree for personal fulfillment and ambition. Sometimes that payoff is enough.

If you’re interested in pursuing your PhD for these reasons, there are many accelerated PhD programs available online to help your dream of being called “Doctor” one day come true. Some people even earn a PhD in a field unrelated to their primary career because of their love for learning and their desire to pursue other topics and subjects.

Careers that Require a PhD

Careers that Require a PhD

There are a handful of careers that require a PhD before you’ll even be considered for the job. This is because the training required to perform well at these jobs is only available through doctoral level programs. Most people obtain their PhD because they have their eye on these specific jobs. The following careers are usually only attainable to people who hold PhD’s:

  • Psychologist
  • Higher Education Administration (President, Dean, etc.)
  • Prestigious Appointments on Corporate and Federal Boards

Many careers and fields, however, still highly value someone who holds a PhD even if it’s not required to perform the job. These are common career fields that look to doctorate holders to lead and innovate:

  • Healthcare (Nursing and Public Health/Policy)
  • Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Neuroscience)
  • Engineering

The reality is that most people who hold a doctorate often automatically receive more respect and reverence than those who don’t. It’s a prestigious degree that only about one percent of the population holds. Many of the most respected intellectuals and leaders of corporations and organizations have a doctoral degree because of this reason.

Some universities even offer a doctorate degree online no dissertation requirement for students who prefer not to spend the extra time required to complete a dissertation.

Even if your field doesn’t require a doctorate, it may be beneficial to your advancement in your field, a potential salary increase, and your own personal ambitions of holding one of the most prestigious degrees available.

How Long Does It Take to Earn a Doctorate Degree?

How Long Does It Take to Earn a Doctorate Degree

There are two major types of doctoral degrees that students can earn; research-based and professional application. Both degrees require them to have a master’s degree, and if they already have one, it usually takes four to six years on average to earn their PhD.

On the other hand, students who are pursuing doctoral degrees part-time may take up to 10 years.

The time they need to complete a doctoral degree will depend on the program design and the area of specialization that they are taking. PhD programs usually require students to take 60 to 120 credit hours or about 20 to 40 classes.

However, some programs are streamlined and accelerated to help them earn their doctoral degree faster. If you have a tight schedule, then part time PhD programs are another option instead of accelerated programs.

Those who are pursuing a doctoral degree full-time can look for programs that have creative credit transfers, which can help them get their PhD within three years. These programs typically offer minimal on-campus obligations, giving scholars better flexibility in earning their degrees.

How to Accelerate Your Online PhD

PhD student studying on her laptop

Whether you’re searching for 1 year online doctoral programs or for a way to finish in 2 years, you may be able to accelerate the path to your doctorate.

Since you’ll already be expected to have completed a good amount of previous college training, there aren’t as many ways to accelerate a PhD as there are an associate, bachelor, or master’s degree. There are many accelerated PhD programs, however, that can help you move straight through a bachelor’s degree to a PhD.

In other words, you can apply to begin a bachelor’s degree with a program with the commitment and intention of following all the way through to a PhD as the final earned degree. These programs are designed so that you can earn your bachelor’s degree along the way and complete your PhD in as little as six years (including all the work you had to do towards the bachelor’s degree).

Most PhD programs take much longer than this, so this can be a great way to accelerate your degree. Alternatively, some programs award a terminal master’s degree as part of the PhD program.

If you don’t finish all the requirements for your PhD, you may still walk away with a master’s degree in your field, all of your work not having gone to waste.

Some accelerated PhD options online include accelerated courses as well. These courses can help you complete more credit hours in less amount of time and are great when you have some extra time to spare in your schedule.

They might not be as prevalent as accelerated courses at the undergraduate level, but many graduate programs online offer them as well. They are worth looking into if you’re itching to complete your degree quickly.

Advantages of Accelerated PhD Programs

Advantages of Accelerated PhD Programs

Many traditional PhD programs can take a long time to complete. In fact, many programs allow students upwards of 10 years or more to complete all requirements of their degree, knowing that some students get stalled in the research and writing process.

Sometimes, having too much time to complete a degree can be detrimental to your progress and completion of that degree, especially when it comes to such an advanced degree like a PhD. Enrolling in an accelerated PhD program can encourage you to stay on track with your studies and finish within a reasonable time.

Just because you’ll be completing your doctorate online and in an accelerated format doesn’t mean the rigor or intensity of the program will be less. In fact, because you’ll probably be doing it in less time, it may be more. Most programs require a dissertation or large research project as a capstone to fulfilling the degree requirements.

Many PhD programs also require lengthy and difficult tests before they will allow students to advance to candidacy. Online degrees are not much different in regards to these expectations.

The Chronicle of Higher Education reports that the attrition rate for PhD programs is only 50%, which means that only one out of two people who begin a PhD program actually finish their degree.

It’s a sobering statistic, but it attests to the fact that a PhD is not a degree you can earn overnight. Even in an accelerated format, a doctorate takes time, effort, and dedication.

Since many people go back for their PhD’s after having already started a career in their field, choosing an accelerated PhD format might allow you to remain in your career while completing your degree. This is another benefit to completing a degree online rather than having to commute somewhere each week to complete coursework.

Finally and perhaps an overlooked advantage of these programs is that you’ll have the opportunity to network with people from across the nation. If getting a PhD means a potential climb up the ladder in your field, the rewards of moving for a job are probably worth it to you.

What better way to learn about job openings and potentials than in your online classes? Most jobs are advertised through word of mouth, so working with people from different regions and locations from where you are might open your eyes to an opportunity you never knew was there.

Getting a PhD is a serious commitment and not something you should decide on a whim to do. It can be tiring and stressful, but so very rewarding. If you complete your PhD, you’ll be one of only a small percentage of Americans who have one, and the job opportunities for you to do what you really love will most likely increase.

Accelerated PhD’s are convenient and can help you actualize your goals of earning the highest degree you can earn in your field.

Accreditation for an Online PhD Program

logos of six regional boards

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation or CHEA reviews regional accrediting bodies to ensure that students receive the highest standard of education that meets local demands. In turn, these accrediting bodies evaluate academic institutions or online programs within the institution.

This process aims to regulate and ensure that the quality of education is current, practical, and is following the curriculum requirements in PhD programs.

Regional accreditation evaluates the learning process in different online programs, ensuring that students are spending money on education that employers will recognize. Look for accreditation from one of these regional boards:

  • Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
  • Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
  • New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
  • Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
  • WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)

Regional accreditation of a program act as a guarantee of the value of the diploma that students receive upon completion of their course.

Financial Aid for PhD Students

screenshot of the FAFSA pdf

On average, a PhD program costs $18,000, and taking up a five-year plan will cost at least $90,000. This amount is on top of the living expenses that students need to tank when pursuing their doctoral degrees.

However, there are different financial aids that they can pursue to fund their studies and earn their postgraduate degrees without going into debt.

Here are the types of financial aids that may be available for PhD students:

  • Scholarships are the most common merit-based financial aid that students can receive. These programs can help in covering the cost of tuition and other fees that are related to earning their doctoral degrees.
  • Grants are similar to scholarships, but it is for students with the need for financial assistance. Students who want to apply for grants will have to go through different evaluations to be eligible for it.
  • Fellowships are programs that can provide financial aid to students who are pursuing doctoral degrees. These aids often cover the full tuition, together with a yearly stipend that students can use to cover other expenses related to earning their degrees.

You can find out what you qualify for at the federal level by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) .

15 Best Online Doctoral Programs/PhD Programs – 2024

April 24, 2024

If you’re looking to attain a terminal degree but want to skip the commute to campus, an online doctoral program might be a great option for you. As our world becomes increasingly digital, many top universities have branched out into online learning, offering online PhD and doctoral programs that are just as rigorous as their in-person counterparts. Online graduate education can offer aspiring doctoral students flexibility, a high-quality education, and the option to continue working while pursuing a degree.

Many of the universities below in our round-up of the best online doctoral programs offer degrees in education—a common track for teachers looking to advance their careers. But universities across the country offer a wide range of degrees in everything from engineering management to library science. Read on for everything you need to know as you consider applying.

The Best Online Doctoral Programs – How Long Does It Take to Get a Doctoral Degree Online?

Online doctoral programs are often designed with full-time professionals in mind, prioritizing flexibility so that you can complete your degree at your own pace. Program lengths will vary, but most will take four to seven years. For students who need to take things slower, many programs offer options to spread degree requirements out over time. When applying, here are a few good questions to ask your admissions officer:

  • How long do most graduate students take to complete their degrees?
  • Are there flexible options for how many courses you’ll take per term?
  • Will you pay tuition per semester or per credit hour? If paying by credit hour, will you able to choose how many classes you take each semester?
  • Will you be required to write a dissertation? If so, how long do students usually take to write them?

The Best Online Doctoral Programs – Is an Online PhD Program a Good Fit for Me?

There’s no denying it: online doctoral programs are different than traditional ones. Many traditional PhD programs are designed for future academics, aka for graduate students who intend to apply for jobs as university professors after graduation. Traditional PhD programs are full-time, research-focused, in-person, and often offer graduate students funding in exchange for teaching or research assistant responsibilities. Online doctoral programs do also involve research, but most online graduate students are not full-time students. Rather, many students enrolled in online doctoral programs are working professionals who attend classes in the evenings or asynchronously. With that in mind, an online program can be a fantastic opportunity to further your current career.

An online doctorate program could be a great fit for you if:

  • You want to advance your career. A doctorate can lead to further opportunities for promotion and certain fields offer automatic pay increases for people with advanced degrees.
  • You love research and want to develop expertise in a topic that fascinates you.
  • You learn well in online settings, including asynchronous classes.
  • You plan to continue working while you study.

Online doctoral programs typically do not offer their students funding, though there may be scholarships and grants available to you.

The Best Online Doctoral Programs – What to Consider When Choosing an Online Doctorate Program

Since a doctorate can take 4-7 years or more to complete, choosing the right school for you is a huge decision. Our list below dives into many details you’ll need to know like acceptance rate, retention rate, and cost of tuition. It’s important to consider big-picture factors such as:

  • Time to complete degree
  • Professors and mentors—you’ll want to make sure you can study with faculty who have expertise in your academic interests
  • Flexibility—does the program fit with your schedule? Do they require any in-person meetings?
  • Graduation rate—ask your admissions officer for the most recent figures

You’ll also want to consider whether you want to pursue a PhD or a doctorate degree. If you’re pursuing a PhD, you can expect to focus more significantly on academic research and you’ll need to complete a dissertation. A doctorate is an equivalent degree that is less focused on academic research and may not require a dissertation. Doctorates can often involve more career development or hands-on practicum experience.

The Best Online Doctoral Programs – Are Online PhDs Respected?

Yes, online doctoral programs are just as rigorous and respected as their in-person counterparts. If you hope to earn a tenure-track faculty position at a university, it’s likely a traditional PhD program will be a better route. However, if you’re seeking a doctorate for career advancement and further learning, an online doctoral program can be a great fit. Many of the most prestigious universities offer online programs, and your diploma will likely not specify whether you completed an online or traditional degree.

The Best Online Doctoral Programs – What Do I Need to Apply?

Application requirements will vary depending on the program you’re applying to. All programs will require your academic transcripts, many require letters of recommendation, and some require GRE scores. On top of that, some programs will require a personal statement or writing portfolio. Contrary to what you might think, Master’s degrees are not always required for admission to online doctoral programs.

Can You Really Buy A PhD Online?

Much attention has been paid in the UK to the petition aiming to ban the advertising and provision of essay mill services . This says that you can buy a PhD for £6,750 , a figure which has been floating around the media for some time.

But, is it really possible to buy a PhD online and for a price similar to this?

The answer, unfortunately, is yes.

You can definitely buy PhD level writing. And a student who is familiar with how the essay industry works can find a better value PhD thesis than that offered by a typical essay mill.

How Do You Go About Buying A PhD?

You can, of course, buy a fake PhD certificate, or use your “ life experience ” to get a qualification from a fake university . But such qualifications are unlikely to stand up to external scrutiny.

You might try and make connections directly with a writer and work with them.

But I suspect most people will see the type of advertising for PhD mills that appears when you search on Google. It’s hard to avoid it, as even a prospective student looking for advice about which university to study a PhD at will be hit with ads of this type.

purchase a phd

The advertising for PhD writing services is nowhere near as advanced as for essay mills but many of the same marketing techniques are in use. You see guarantees , discounts , promises of fast turnaround times and the old favourite of “ 0% plagiarism “. But, with my marketing hat on, I think you can also tell that these services don’t really understand the prospective PhD market – although I’m not about to provide free consultancy for here to help them improve.

The less developed market for PhD writing services is also reflected in the cost per click prices charged by Google (the amount each advertiser pays every time someone clicks on the link). Advertising for PhD mills is generally cheap .

There are some high value keywords. For instance, Google in the UK suggests that advertisers bid between £11.22 and £20.49 per click for the search term “ phd thesis ” to get at the top of the first screen (the only position that really counts).

But many terms go for much less. A search term like “ buy phd online ” only requires a cost per click between £1.15 and £4.92. These costs are usually far lower than the equivalent terms for essays, coursework and assignments.

How Much Does A PhD Thesis Cost?

The web market for buying PhD level work is nowhere near as advanced as equivalent essay mills for undergraduate level. Many of the essay mills I checked advertise they will write PhDs, but do not have any detail or pricing information available on their website.

I did find a site which sold PhD by chapters. A 75,000 word PhD thesis would cost around £6,000 , not far from the headline figure used at the start of this post. However, the site also advertised having coupons available and I suspect I could have easily have pushed that price below £5,000 had I asked for a discount in the online chat.

There are much more developed PhD mills out there. Some show understanding of the contract cheating PhD level market.

One PhD mill, for example, splits its services to match the stages of the PhD journey where a student might want to hire support.

This includes everything from help with the initial application and proposal , through to chapter writing , to tutorials and mentoring for the final viva . It also claims to offer a premium service of publishable level work , produced in collaboration with an academic expert. For that level of service, enough to build the credentials for an academic job, the 75,000 word thesis would work out at £22,500 .

As my research investigating academic writers has shown , many essay mills find low priced writers and just act as an intermediary. Such budget price writers do exist at PhD level , even if they are harder to find. Presumably, some writers relish the intellectual challenge of completing advanced research as opposed to just writing basic essays.

And, you can buy a custom written PhD thesis much cheaper.

A report in the Indian media has shown that an original PhD thesis can be purchased in India for 50,000 Indian rupees (about £540) , with payment in installments possible. The source claims that PhD writing offers like this one are not uncommon and that academics will moonlight as PhD writers. I also understand that similar services can often be found advertising in newspapers in India.

PhD writing requests also occasionally appear on the major freelancing sites.

purchase a phd

A (live at the time of writing) request for a PhD thesis on English Literature, from a buyer in Pakistan, saw 7 people, mostly from India, offering to complete this in six weeks at rates between £750 and £1,500 (with an average of £1114) for 75,000 words . 4 of the 7 bidders were from India. At face value, fulfilling the request in that time does not seem realistic for anyone, but this may be enough to secure a successful PhD completion in Pakistan.

What About Buying A PhD Literature Review?

Just as one of the PhD mills advertises its approach of completing a PhD thesis in collaborative stages, a student using a freelance site may also outsource their PhD thesis chapter by chapter . This may be because they feel able to complete part of the thesis themselves, but need help with some sections, or they may use it as an opportunity to audition a writer to work with throughout the process.

Here is another freelance site example, taking bids, with 40 people from around the world offering to complete a 3,500 word literature review for a PhD thesis .

purchase a phd

The person making the request states that they are in the UK (this information is mostly reliable as the requester is verified). They are also pricing in pounds, which is not common for people outside the UK.

They have proposed a budget between £20 and £250, with offers received between £20 and £500. The mean (average) offer is at £165 (which would be about £47 per 1000 words – when I looked at essay pricing, I found lots of people willing to work for £7.50 for 1000 words ). Perhaps a better measure is the mode, where 17 offers are at £150 (or £43 per 1000 words ).

This is a prolific group of bidders, with 4884 successfully completed jobs between them, with most coming from Kenya, Pakistan and India, but also including offers from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and Canada.

Just looking at the bidder profiles is interesting. I even found a graduate from a university I used to work at (but not someone I knew), using his MBA as a credential, completing assignments for students and even preparing fake reference letters for them (for which the going rate is around £20 per fake reference).

It just goes to show that there are many ways to get a PhD if you’re creative about it.

Should We Focus On The PhD Contract Cheating Market

The area is very much understudied. Although I’ve provided other examples in previous academic papers and talks the amount of data available is small, so it is difficult to study this systematically .

It does appear that PhDs are easier to achieve in some countries than others . We need employers to understand that not all qualifications are equal.

I’ve often discussed how an MBA is often just seen as a stepping stone to a higher level leadership job . So, people will contract cheat here. In some places, it appears that a PhD is also considered like this.

The good news is that, if academic integrity processes are suitably robust, simply buying a PhD level thesis in the UK should not be enough for its holder to be awarded a PhD title .

The student still has a spoken viva exam to get through.

Yes, students can train for this viva (and, as I’ve shown, there are services offering to prepare them), but here examiners need to have the confidence to fail the candidate if they do not have the in-depth knowledge and understanding that is required.

It all comes down to the academic integrity of the supervisory team and examiners , along with the institutional process this sits within. And getting the right student, with the motivation and ability to complete a PhD is important too. PhD students most certainly have a role to play in preserving academic integrity .

My work focuses on buying masters and doctorates in economics and development. These should be the freshest prices. Dont forget, because they are black market contracts, you may not always get what you expect.

Can you get a PhD based on work or life experience?

Is there any possibility that I could be awarded a Ph.D. degree based on my work or life experience and good educational background?

Can you guide me to any institution offering such Ph.D.s?

  • 50 Short answer: Not from a reputable institution. –  Tobias Kildetoft Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 10:55
  • 9 Not unless your life experience includes several years of cutting-edge research. And even then it would be difficult to get. –  Bitwise Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 12:59
  • 1 If you are rich or famous and adding your name to a roster would benefit an institution, you sure can get an honorary degree by donating a large sum to an institution and asking for one and maybe they will bend the rules for you and your cash donation. –  Giacomo1968 Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 22:01
  • 3 Just to be clear: You do mean awarded a PhD, rather than accepted onto a PhD programme , don't you? –  Tom W Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 8:23
  • 1 I have seen this referred to as an "extra muros" PhD, but institutions that grant them are rare. Columbia University used to but recently stopped. –  giaour Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 21:35

Ph.D.s and other academic titles and degrees awarded for "work experience", "life experience" and so on are products of diploma mills . You pay a lot of money (thousands of USD) for a piece of paper that is completely worthless.

Employers know these worthless "titles". Such a "Ph.D." will not help you get a better job, and it will in particular not help you in an academic career. Instead, using such a "degree" in an application will brand you as naive at best or a fraud at worst.

Depending on your jurisdiction, using a "degree" "awarded" by a non-accredited institution, as these diploma mills usually are, may be illegal.

Nobody here will direct you to an institution that engages in such practices.

  • 5 Ideally your answer would be correct. But in the real world, some people have used such diplomas to further their careers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Callahan We can say that she was naive or a fraud but "she continued to draw a six-figure DHS salary". –  emory Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 21:46
  • 7 @emory: The full quote from Wikipedia is "she continued to draw a six-figure DHS salary until her resignation on March 26, 2004." And Wikipedia doesn't list any occupation after that. It seems like this episode ended her public career. As it should. –  Stephan Kolassa Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 7:18
  • 3 She "earned" more than $100,000 June 2003-March 2004 for doing absolutely nothing. As a juror, I would be hesitant to convict for fraud. Did she misrepresent or did her employer - the government - fail due diligence? Apparently the government does not want to find out. This "worthless paper" got her some easy money and is a keep out of jail card. It was very worthwhile to her. Your answer represents what I hope the world to be, but in reality the OP might find diploma mill paper to be a worthwhile investment. –  emory Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 10:04
  • 1 I thought many prestigious universities awarded degrees for lifetime experience? For example, Harvard ( harvard.edu/honorary-degrees ) and Yale ( secretary.yale.edu/governance/honorary-degrees ). It seems more notable for a university to not award honorary degrees. –  Rob P. Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 12:27
  • 2 I have the feeling that this answers misses two things. (1) It's perfectly possible to be awarded a PhD based on previous research. You do need to demonstrate you have done substantial research work and to have published or publishable material (not merely vague “life experiences”) but it does exist, it's legit and it can actually help an academic career (i.e. people who have worked in industry or as researcher for a long time but need a PhD to meet the formal requirements for a professorship), especially in applied disciplines like engineering or design. –  Relaxed Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 14:55

Many universities award honorary degrees, such as a honorary doctorate . These are not PhDs, but might still be relevant to your question. I have often seen these types of degrees being awarded to people that have contributed a lot to a scientific field from outside of academia (but sometimes for far less, also see this wiki-section on controversies over honorary titles), usually for work that has been connected to the awarding university. Since they are awarded for many different types of contributions, the formal criteria for when to award them is also relatively vague. In all cases I know of, they are also awarded based on external nominations, and not self-nomination. Finally, recipients should usually not use the PhD or Dr titles. An honorary doctorate definately do not carry the same academic weight as a PhD, but can sometimes still be valuable, especially if they are from a reputable institution. As an example, this page provides further information on how the title of honorary doctor is used in Sweden (in this case at Uppsala University).

Also note that besides "legitimate" honorary degrees from reputable universities, some fraudulent insititutions or diploma mills also use the same title for their degrees.

  • 23 Honorary doctorates are rare enough that this is a bit of a cart-before-the-horse situation. If you're reputable enough to be awarded an honorary doctorate, you're almost certainly reputable enough that earning one isn't very important. It's a very nice recognition, yes, but if you're being considered for one you've already arrived. –  chmullig Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 16:26
  • 1 I was under the impression that most people awarded honorary doctorates had a PhD already, albeit in a different but related field. –  kleineg Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 17:44
  • 2 @kleineg, I think it depends on the field: so that e.g. many D. Litt. recipients will be successful authors (J.K. Rowling has six at the last count, although her highest studied degree is a B.A.), whereas probably nearly all D. Math. recipients will have a Ph.D. in maths. –  Peter Taylor Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 18:43
  • 3 @chmullig I agree that a honorary doctorate is mostly an after-the-fact thing, and it seldom serves as an important addition to the CV. In my experience, they are often given to non-PhDs, but this might be field and country dependent. –  fileunderwater Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 19:57

In the UK, there is such a thing as a "PhD by publication/portfolio/published work". This requires firstly that your "work or life experience" has generated novel work of academic value comparable to that of a doctoral thesis. Depending on subject, this might mean publications in academic journals, or non-academic publication of research you've done in industry. If you're in an artsy subject, then sometimes you can get a PhD by publication of literature, fine art, architecture, and so on, that meets the institution's criteria of making a substantial contribution to the field.

It may additionally require substantial new work to review and tie together your existing published work, or at least to put it in the correct context.

This doesn't seem to be so much of a thing in the USA. That might be because the USA doesn't take the same view as the UK that the sole qualification for a PhD is a satisfactory thesis. US universities typically have other requirements in their doctoral programs, passing certain courses and whatnot, that are considered part of the qualifying criteria. They might be disinclined to let you skip that part. Or it might just be that US institutions don't consider it a worthwhile use of their time...

So, your options depend primarily on what country you're interested in, you'll have to check out the situation wherever you are in the world. If you have done work of the right kind and sufficient value, and can work with a university in the UK, then just search "PhD by publication" to find examples of institutions that offer them. Many but not all reputable institutions do.

Unless you count on the one hand honorary doctorates, or on the other hand worthless qualifications from unaccredited diploma mills, nowhere can you get a PhD for "life experience". PhDs are for doing research , they aren't an assessment of your educational background, and certainly are not for having interesting or educational things happen to you ;-)

  • Do you know examples of well-known academics who have gotten a PhD this way? –  Kimball Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 10:04
  • @Kimball Ludwig Wittgenstein? Similarly, in France, it's possible to be awarded a PhD based on previous publications and I have an acquaintance who go a PhD from a prestigious Dutch institution in a few months. She had worked on the topic for ~10 years and had written a lot of material before, but not as a candidate within that school's PhD program. –  Relaxed Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 14:45
  • @Kimball: no, I don't know any examples. Wittgensten didn't use a specific "PhD by publication" route of the kind I'm talking about, it's just that the rules were such that nothing barred him from submitting as a doctoral thesis a work he'd published that just so happened to be acceptable. So the effect was the same, but I don't think Cambridge offers that routinely, they just "dealt with" his case as necessary to appoint him a fellow. –  Steve Jessop Commented Apr 30, 2015 at 10:34
  • Someone who plans all along to be an academic very likely wouldn't even consider this route, there'd have to be some reason that at the point where they could have enrolled in a typical PhD program, they instead did research in a different way. If an example exists of a noted academic whose PhD is by a specific program of this kind, it'd probably be someone who switched careers, or who like Wittgenstein never graduated for personal reasons despite doing good work. –  Steve Jessop Commented Apr 30, 2015 at 10:36

Not as such... at least from a reputable university. I have known a few people to gain a PhD without having to do a full PhD program. However, these people have undertaken a sufficient body of work themselves that, with some additional work, would qualify for a PhD. The people I am thinking of are all 50+, and have had long-term jobs in their field of study. They have already been working alongside academics in the Universities during their career, often contributing to research being produced. They have also had to attend some classes, put together a thesis (which itself requires significant work), do their PhD defence, and any other course requirements. This process still takes years.

On a side note, I would wonder why you want a PhD without putting in the work. Part of the PhD experience is the joy (and at times pitfalls) of conducting your own research.

tea4two's user avatar

  • There are exceptional people who achieve a PhD by publication at a younger age than that. E.g. Ramanujan was only 29. –  Peter Taylor Commented Apr 28, 2015 at 18:48

I do know one chap who, being interested in a certain piece of technology that he uses at work, approached an academic at a reputable university and asked whether he could do research on it. The academic agreed and the last time I spoke to the chap he had been working on his PhD for three years, whilst carrying on his job, and it was going well. That is a case where work experience and original research were very close but the PhD, if granted, will still have been earned with original research.

A PhD is not like a master's degree - that is just a statement that the person in question has mastered a subject and could, in principle, be awarded simply by examination. In my opinion mastering a subject is undervalued in the academic community but that is another matter. A PhD should be awarded for original research only, but how and where you do that research should be open to flexibility, as in the case of my acquaintance.

  • This sounds similar to how I got my master's. I explained the methodoly as being "Action Research" . –  Thomas Ferris Nicolaisen Commented Apr 29, 2015 at 8:04

A Ph.D. is not awarded for just knowing a certain body of knowledge or taking a specific number of courses. You must perform and document original research and defend it. Also, a Ph.D. is not lost if one does not continue doing research (although one's reputation as a scholar might be lost). Because of ethical conduct (plagiarism, falsification of data), a very small number of Ph.D.s have been revoked. I believe this can be done only by the University that originally awarded it. Anyone else can just fire or shame the miscreant.

In my experience, you won't get a Ph.D. degree with just work experience. You need to contribute to the community by producing journal articles and research papers. So as long as you have significantly contributed to the academic or social environment and the university recognizes your talent, yes you can get a Ph.D. on successful review of your publication.

Note: Ph.D. award is given for your contribution alone, not as a company or as a team.

Can You Get Your Doctorate Online? (And Should You?)

Looking for an effective way to earn your doctorate degree?

If you’re considering a doctorate, you’ve likely taken an inventory of what will be expected to earn the degree. And that inventory likely includes a huge chunk of time, energy and resources. For already-too-busy-professionals, this can be a dream killer right out of the gate.

Enter the online doctorate degree.

Can I Get My Doctorate Online?

With the reward in mind (think bigger salary, greater recognition, upward mobility), many professionals jump out of the gate by asking, “Can I do this online?”

The reason is simple – Americans are working more than ever before. According to a United Nations Study, 85 percent of American males and 67 percent of American females are working more than 40 hours per week. Beyond the bloated work schedule, people are often struggling to balance hectic home schedules, social calendars and additional commitments.

An online program offers an attractive format to earn a doctorate while balancing the ins and outs of daily life.

It turns out, this advantage is appealing to many. Online doctorate programs are rising in popularity as more and more professionals see the value of refining their skillsets via efficient and convenient programs. Today, there are 205 accredited institutions in the United States offering more than 1,000 online doctorate programs.

Earning a doctorate is challenging and rewarding, but do you know what to really expect? Download this free guide for tips and insights to help you prepare for success.

So how exactly does an online doctorate work?

Going Virtual: How It (Typically) Works

The online doctorate program is really a hybrid version of the traditional campus experience. Online students engage with professors and coursework through various formats—including webcasts, emails, messaging apps and semi-annual campus visits.

While every program is different, the process typically follows a similar structure. If you choose to get a doctorate online, here’s what you can expect:

  • Choose a program. Work with your academic advisor to build the program that is right for your career goals and objectives.
  • Determine your bandwidth. Inventory your time and priorities to identify how much time you will need to complete your program.
  • Select a path. Based on your availability and pace, you’ll identify how many credit hours you will take each semester.
  • Enroll in your courses. Each semester, you’ll join the online classes that will keep you on pace to earn your degree.
  • Get notified about current lectures and assignments. When a new lecture is available, you’ll be notified via email. Then, it’s up to you.
  • Download lectures and watch on-demand. Classes are typically delivered in a webinar-style format, complete with screen shares and presentation slides. Some programs utilize a synchronous format that requires students to log in and watch at a defined time. Others use an on-demand format. You watch them when you want, where you want, as long as you are able to keep pace with the schedule.
  • Use tools to enrich your education. Leverage tools like Slack, Skype or other messaging platforms to communicate with professors, research assistants and advisors.
  • Complete research assignments and submit via portal or email. As you complete the associated work with a lecture or course, you’ll submit to your professor for input and reaction.
  • Visit campus for important events. Depending on the program you choose, you’ll likely be required to visit the campus for a group class or meeting on a semi-annual basis.

It is possible to get your doctorate online—and the online experience offers several advantages to busy individuals. But, the real question to ask is:

Should you get your doctoral degree online?

The Online Debate: 4 Big Myths About Online Doctoral Degrees

Let’s start to answer that question by dispelling some myths.

As the popularity of online programs has risen, so has skepticism. It may be that the program sounds too good to be true, or it may be that they’ve heard too many “diploma mill” horror stories—for a variety of reasons, people tend to write off the online doctorate before they really research it.

The most common myths people believe about doctorates are:

  • They are only given out by degree mills. While there are certainly degree mills out there offering paper degrees for money, they aren’t the only ones—nor are they in the majority. There are plenty of reputable, regionally accredited institutions taking their doctorates online.
  • They are an easy way to earn a doctorate. While the program may require less face-time or physical presence on a campus, accredited programs are by no means a shortcut to earn your degree. You’ll still be expected to research, write your dissertation, and defend it successfully. In addition, the freedom comes with a challenge: learning to balance your time. No strict class schedule means you’ll need to have excellent time management skills. There’s no shortcut for that.
  • Online degrees are not credible as traditional degrees. This is a false narrative. The key is to understand the accreditation of the online program. If the institution you choose is regionally accredited, the degree carries just as much weight as a degree from a traditional program.
  • Online doctorates cost less. This also isn’t necessarily true. Just because a program is online doesn’t mean it will be cheaper. Online programs may also cause you to incur additional expenses if you need to invest in new technology (i.e., laptop and wi-fi).

Many people leave a doctorate on the table because they discount online programs early on—and fail to adhere to the standards and time-constraints of a traditional program. While there are certainly some outliers, online degrees offer a valid and creative solution to earn your doctorate degree.

The key is to pay attention to where you are choosing to get your degree.

Where Can I Get My Doctoral Degree Online?

So, you’ve settled on an online program as the preferred method for your doctorate.

The next question is where you’ll look to find a program. There are lots of institutions offering online or distance-learning doctorate programs—and it can be challenging to know where to invest your time, energy and money to ensure you’re getting the degree you want or need.

It helps to understand the guiding forces behind a school offering the program. A general rule of thumb is to understand how that type of school operates, how they make decisions, and what their chief priorities are. Online programs are offered by two types of schools: for-profit, and not-for-profit.

Most colleges offering online doctorates today are good and trustworthy institutions. There are great public, private, for-profit, and non-profit options out there (for more information, check out our blog post Non-Profit vs. For-Profit Colleges: What You Need to Know . But, there are some outliers who dangle the promise of a cheap, fast degree to get your dollars.

Avoid those types of programs at all cost.

5 Questions To Ask About an Online Doctoral Program

Once you’ve narrowed your choices down to a few select players, you’ll want to take a few additional steps to fully validate the program—and the outcome you can expect to receive. It’s best to meet or talk with the program chair and ask five big questions about their accreditation legitimacy and what the student experience will look like.

  • Are you regionally or nationally accredited? And, what is your accreditation status?
  • What is the student experience at this university like?
  • What resources will I have in this program?
  • Will I have any dissertation support? If so, what does it look like?
  • How easily accessible is the faculty here?

If you have any doubts about the legitimacy of the accreditation agency, make sure it is recognized by one of two authorities on the matter: the  Council for Higher Education Accreditation  or the  Department of Education . The latter has a  College Navigator tool  allowing students to verify the accreditation of any school they may be considering.

Why Get My Doctorate Online?

Earning your doctorate is no easy task, especially if you’re a busy working professional balancing a career, home life and social calendar. An online doctorate program may be an ideal solution for you to earn your degree. With an online program, you are in greater control of both your schedule and academic pace.

That can make all the difference between the start and finish lines of your degree.

5 routes to getting a Doctorate

While most of those studying for a PhD take the PhD by thesis pathway, there are five viable routes to achieving a Doctorate, with both full-time and part-time options available

PhD by thesis

This is the most common means of getting a Doctorate. Over the three or four years of research at university, your PhD supervisor will support you as you aim to produce a thesis based on your research proposal .

A thesis is typically 60,000-90,000 words in length - although this can vary between institutions. For instance, the University of Glasgow's College of Social Sciences expects a thesis to be 70,000 to 100,000 words including references, bibliography and appendices, while the University of Cambridge has set an upper limit of 80,000 words.

Once completed, you'll need to defend your PhD thesis in front of a panel of examiners during your viva voce .

Doctorate by publication

This route involves submitting previously published work - such as books, book chapters and journal articles, which together form a coherent body of work and show evidence of an original contribution to a particular field of study.

The PhD by publication route is often taken by mid-career academics that haven't had the opportunity to undertake a standard Doctorate degree.

Generally, a minimum of five to eight published pieces are required, but this varies between institutions and depends on their length. The published work will be assessed to the same rigorous standards as a traditional PhD by thesis.

You must also provide a written supporting statement, which typically ranges from 5,000 to 15,000 words.

For instance, the University of Westminster asks for a commentary of 5,000 words (science and technology subjects) or 10,000 words (arts, social sciences and humanities). On the other hand, Queen Margaret University Edinburgh requires 12,000 to 15,000 words on the rationale and theoretical context for the portfolio of published work.

The work will then be presented to an academic committee. A supervisor will assist you with selecting which publications to submit, as well as guidance on the supporting statement.

Some universities accept only their own graduates for a PhD by publication, while others restrict this route to their academic staff. In general, you should have graduated from your first degree at least seven years ago to be eligible.

For example, The University of Manchester has published its own Guidance for the PhD By Published Work , with eligibility only extending to current members of staff.

Professional Doctorate

This type of Doctorate includes a significant taught component and a smaller research project, and is geared primarily towards current professionals in vocational sectors such as:

  • engineering and manufacturing
  • teaching and education .

Professional Doctorates are often taken on a part-time basis and can last between two and eight years. Like their standard PhD counterparts, they usually begin in October or January.

While you won't typically be looking to get an academic job , your research is expected to contribute to theory as well as professional practice. Projects often revolve around a real-life issue that affects your employer.

Several professional Doctorates, such as the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), are accredited by a professional body - for instance, the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and The British Psychological Society (BPS) - and may also lead to a professional qualification .

Common titles for graduates of professional Doctorate degrees include:

  • Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
  • Doctor of Education (EdD)
  • Doctor of Engineering (EngD)
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD).

Unlike many professional Doctorates, the EngD is typically offered as a full-time course and is aimed at young engineering graduates with little or no professional experience.

Integrated PhD

This four-year qualification, also known as the New Route PhD, involves studying a one-year research Masters degree (MRes) before progressing onto a three-year PhD.

Offered by a select number of universities across the UK, integrated PhDs are supported by the government and the British Council through UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) .

Visit Research Council funding for further information on research and funding for different types of PhD.

The integrated PhD involves a combination of taught materials, practical experience and advanced research. This allows you to learn subject-specific methodologies, while building the transferable skills that will enable you to become a leader in your chosen profession.

Institutions can also develop personalised integrated PhD programmes to meet each student's needs. For example, universities may offer you the opportunity to gain a postgraduate certificate (PGCert) in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education - perfect if you're considering a career as a higher education lecturer .

Online/distance learning PhD

As PhDs are based primarily on independent research rather than time spent in lectures and seminars, distance learning has always been a viable route for many Doctoral students.

PhDs by distance learning offered by course providers such as The Open University are therefore a good option to consider if you've got family or work commitments or are an international student - as this gives you the chance to undertake Doctoral research without having to live close to your chosen institution. It's also a suitable mode of study if your subject requires you to be based in a specific location away from the university.

For the most part, you'll be in touch with your supervisor by phone, email or Skype/Zoom. You'll need to bear in mind that even if you opt for this form of research, you'll generally still need to attend university for one or two weeks of each academic year for meetings and to receive research skills training. Your final exam may be undertaken either face-to-face or virtually.

With online PhDs, you can usually register as a full or part-time student. The level of fees you pay varies between institutions - some charge the same as for a standard PhD while others offer a reduced rate.

Check that any funding you plan to apply for is available to distance learning students, as this isn't always the case.

Search for online/distance learning PhDs .

You might not have a real degree, but you have the knowledge and the skills to do the job. Isn’t the countless years of experience not enough to qualify for a higher position? You hit the glass ceiling because the next higher rank requires a degree. You start to think that it might be impossible to get a better job unless you attend university after all. And that comes after committing to going back to university for the next 4 or 5 years of your life.

You feel downright depressed. Inadequate with how you’re faring with life. Stuck on a dead-end job with no promotion in sight. You see people with degrees effortlessly moving up. They even get to choose the position they want to be in. Your friends who have degrees tell you there’s really nothing you can do except get back to college. But you don’t want to waste time. You want to acquire an accredited college degree as soon as possible. Wouldn’t life be better for those who don’t have degrees an equal opportunity to show what they can contribute? But reality hits and every company wants to see a degree.

What You Can Be With A Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate Degree

People who have college degrees get more respect. they also get better job opportunities than those without..

According to the statistics provided by the National Center for Education, people who have a bachelor’s degree can earn up to twice as much as people who don’t have a high school diploma. Plus, they earn more than young adults who have associate degrees.

People will tell you that earning a college degree is one of the most satisfying goals in life. Holding one will make you feel accomplished and proud of yourself. Here’s 5 solid reasons why having an accredited  college degree is worth the effort:

1. Pay Increase

Once you buy a degree , you will be able to choose from a lot of job options available for you. The jobs that weren’t available for you will be unlocked. More often than not, these are the high-paying jobs you are looking for all your life.

2. Choose A Desirable Field

Before getting a degree, you had limited job field options to choose from. You had to choose a dead-end job to support yourself, or your family. Now, you’ll be able to work in an industry where you can fit in naturally.

3. Make Yourself Desirable To Employers

4. Promotions

Degrees are not only used to apply for a job position. They are also essential if you want to get promoted to a higher position. You’ll need a university degree to increase your market value in today’s industry. Suffice to say, a degree is literally the thing that will put you head and shoulders above the competition.

5. Example For Others

Aged learners walking up the graduation stage will most likely share the moment with their kids. You will be a hero in their eyes. They will be undoubtedly proud of you and your educational accomplishment. Your children will have a desire for educational attainment instilled within them. Your household will come to value career aspirations through higher education.

What You Need To Know About Buying A College Degree

The advent and proliferation of the internet has made it easy to buy a degree from an accredited college . You can buy a degree of your choice without ever leaving the comforts of your own home. Instead of going out, you can just turn on your computer, your smart phone or laptop and within minutes, you’ll be scrolling through college degrees in no time. However, you’ll need to be careful of degree mills and diploma mills, as they won’t provide you the degree you need to succeed in life.

Fake transcripts, fake diplomas and fake degrees from a diploma mill are no good. These diploma mills issue fake diplomas that are provided by “real” universities. Degree mills are entities that pose as “real” universities.

istock_000086480575_medium

One reason to buy a college degree is for when an employer is asking for one before promoting an employee. A degree is a direct medium in improving job prospects. You run the risk of your employer doing a background check and finding your qualifications are not quite authentic as they appear to be.

Recruiters have an equal opportunity to see if your advanced degree is as real as it seems. No employer or company will ever recognize a fake diploma mill as they are in the blacklist on most online forums.

Now that you know the dangers of buying an accredited college degree from a diploma mill, how do you spot one when you search on the web? Here’s a list:

– they are offering a degree for a lump sum cost., – they are offering an instant degree. a diploma mill gives you a piece of paper, then runs off with your money., – they are offering college degrees, but they ask for a review of your faxed resume and work experiences., – the whole criteria for admission is based on whether you have a valid mastercard or visa., – you find your chosen university isn’t accredited., – you find your chosen university is accredited, though the agency isn’t recognized by either the us department of education or the chea (council on higher education accreditation)., how to choose where to buy a college degree.

Maybe you’re still at the crossroads and hesitant to take that final step to college. You fear you don’t have the credentials to make it. You still wish to change your career because that last job doesn’t have an opportunity for a better promotion. Here’s how to make the best move of your life:

Know The Duration of Degree Studies

For a bachelor’s, there’s a 4 year requirement for US universities and 3 years of UK universities. Master’s require 2 years for US universities and 1 to 2 years for UK universities. A PhD requires 4 years for US universities and 3 years for UK universities. Options-wise, you should be able to backdate your degree and change your graduation year. When you buy a degree from an accredited college with transcripts, fill in the exact graduation date and we will fill in the matching university and major. You can then use the credentials to apply for government positions and senior job openings.

From maximizing efficiency to proposing innovative solutions that take care of existing problems, the choice to buy a PhD is a fast and secure way to get ready for your next job.

What is a PhD?

A PhD is a research degree and is the highest award available at universities in the UK. Study is based around a substantial research project on an area of academic interest, typically up to 100,000 words in length, written as a thesis which then must be defended in an oral examination in front of a panel of experts. Students are assigned a supervisor and the duration of a PhD is typically three years full-time and six years part-time.

Very few research degrees feature taught modules, and as such a student is expected to take more responsibility for their work and schedule. Buy Doctoral Degree Online UK

PhD Entry Requirements

UK universities are free to admit anyone to a PhD programme, with admission generally conditional on the prospective student having successfully completed an undergraduate degree with at least upper second-class honours, as well as a masters degree. English language ability will need to be proved and a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 is generally required.

PhD Research Proposal

A research proposal (example) is required by all students when applying to study a PhD. The proposal should clearly address the research you wish to undertake, how you will do it, and why it is important. The proposal must be accepted by a panel of experts before your programme can begin.

Other types of Research Degree

  • MPhil (Master of Philosophy)

If you wish to study a PhD, you may first need to begin an MPhil and then transfer to a PhD programme after 12-18 months. An MPhil is also a qualification in its own right and is generally thesis-only, lasting one year full-time and two years part-time. The thesis must present the results of a study and research and be a maximum of 60,000 words.

Students choose to study an MPhil if the proposed research has insufficient scope for a full PhD.

  • MRes (Master of Research)

An MRes is an advanced postgraduate research degree within the areas of art, humanities and social sciences. Some PhDs require an MRes qualification before beginning a PhD proper, and the student is required to complete a 40,000 word dissertation.

An MRes is a good test to see if you enjoy conducting your research without fully committing to and funding a full PhD.

  • Professional Doctorate

Professional doctorates are similar to a PhD, but are intended to advance professional practice, rather than improve academic ability. Common professional doctorates include law, education, business, engineering and medicine. How much does a PhD cost?

Funding and researching a PhD can be expensive, with EU students paying up to £6,000 per year, and international students more.

It is rare for a PhD student to not be supported by some form of bursary, grant or scholarship though, and many universities and research councils provide monetary support for part or all of a PhD programme. How do I apply for a PhD?

Once you have decided on an area of research and have looked into how you will fund your study, there are a number of documents required when submitting your application. They can include:

Students will also need to identify a supervisor who will oversee their PhD

Doctoral Regalia:

Doctoral regalia is the most elaborate and sophisticated type of academic regalia. It is worn by individuals who have earned a doctoral degree, such as a PhD, EdD, or MD. Doctoral regalia consists of three main components: the gown, the hood, and the tam or bonnet.

The Doctorate Gown:

The gown is usually made of black material and has long, flowing sleeves. The front of the gown is open and often features velvet panels or decorative piping. The gown can be worn with a formal shirt and tie or a blouse and skirt for women.

The Doctoral Hood:

The hood is the most distinctive feature of doctoral regalia. It is worn over the gown and is usually made of silk or satin. The color of the hood represents the field of study or academic discipline of the wearer. For example, a blue hood signifies a degree in philosophy, green for medicine, and purple for law. The color of the lining of the hood represents the institution that conferred the degree.

The length and shape of the hood also vary according to the degree being conferred. The length of the doctoral hood is determined by the level of the degree, with the doctoral hood being the longest. The shape of the hood is also determined by the degree, with the doctoral hood having a bell-shaped design.

The Doctoral Tam:

The academic tam is a hat worn with the gown and hood. It is usually made of black velvet and features a tassel in a specific color that represents the degree being conferred. For example, a blue tassel signifies a PhD degree, while a gold tassel signifies an EdD degree.

Importance of Wearing Doctoral Regalia:

The wearing of doctoral regalia is an important tradition in academia. It symbolizes the wearer's academic achievement and expertise in their field of study. It is also a way to honor and recognize the years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice that went into earning a doctoral degree.

Doctoral regalia also serves as a visual representation of the academic community. It creates a sense of unity and belonging among scholars and helps to identify individuals who have earned a doctoral degree. It also promotes a sense of pride and accomplishment among those who wear it.

Furthermore, wearing doctoral regalia is a sign of respect for the institution and the academic community. It shows that the wearer is part of a larger network of scholars who are committed to advancing knowledge and making a positive impact on society.

Conclusion:

Doctoral regalia is a traditional and important part of academia. It represents the wearer's academic achievements, field of study, and institutional affiliation. It serves as a visual representation of the academic community and promotes a sense of unity, pride, and accomplishment among scholars. The wearing of doctoral regalia is a sign of respect for the institution and the academic community and is an important tradition that should be honored and respected.
