Glass domes serve not only as protective covers but also add elegance to your cookie presentation. By creating a visible boundary, they focus attention on the confections beneath, turning ordinary cookies into eye-catching displays.

Here are some ideas to consider:

  • Size Variation : Utilize a mix of different-sized domes to create a dynamic display. Place larger cookies under bigger domes and smaller ones beneath petite covers.
  • Thematic Backdrops : Line the base of each dome with thematic elements, such as colored paper or fabric, to complement the cookie design. For example, a red velvet liner can enhance the appeal of Christmas cookies.
  • Layering Technique : Within the dome, you can layer cookies using cake stands or tiered servers to add depth and make effective use of the vertical space. Arrange in a cascading style for visual impact.
  • Personalization : For added charm, tie a ribbon around the dome’s handle or base that matches the event’s colors or theme. Consider attaching a label or a tag with the cookie type or a personalized message.
  • Careful Placement : Select a central, well-lit location for the glass-domed cookies to become a focal point. Ensure the dome is placed on a stable surface to avoid accidents.

Transform your holiday dessert table into a winter wonderland by using Christmas tree-shaped stands as the focal point for your cookie presentation. These tiered stands offer a fun, festive way to showcase a variety of cookies while maximizing table space. Imagine gingerbread stars, snowflake sugar cookies, and green-red sprinkled butter cookies hugging each tier, creating a delightful and edible Christmas tree.

For a cohesive look, consider arranging the cookies by size, placing the larger cookies on the bottom tiers and topping off the stand with the smaller treats. Not only does this support stability, but it also mirrors the natural shape of a tree . Incorporate a dusting of powdered sugar to mimic a fresh snowfall or edible glitter for a touch of sparkle.

Remember, the creativity doesn’t stop at cookie selection; enhance your display by weaving strands of cranberries or fairy lights between the tiers. This charming approach to presenting your baked goods is bound to draw guests and add a twinkling, cozy touch to your holiday gathering.

Stacking Cookies in a Spiral Tower Display

Creating a visually striking centerpiece for your event can be easily achieved with a spiral tower display. To construct this elegant presentation:

  • Choose cookies with a consistent size and shape for uniformity.
  • Begin with a sturdy base; a round cake stand can serve as a reliable foundation.
  • Stack cookies at a slight angle in a circular pattern around the edge of the stand, gradually working upwards.
  • Ensure each cookie overlaps the one below it to create the spiral effect.
  • Continue stacking until you reach the desired height, with the option to top the display with a special cookie or decorative element.
  • Use a dab of icing between cookies if additional stability is needed.
  • This method maximizes space and showcases the cookies from all angles, making it easy for guests to admire and select their desired treat.

How to Decorate a Cookie Booth for a Bake Sale

Achieving an attractive and inviting cookie booth at a bake sale is essential to draw attention and entice customers. Begin by selecting a color scheme that complements your cookies, creating a cohesive visual appeal. A well-chosen tablecloth can serve as the base of your display. Consider adding a banner or signage with eye-catching fonts to highlight the name of your booth or to advertise your baked goods.

Use tiered stands or stacked boxes to create varying heights, which make your cookies more visible and accessible. This not only adds dimension to your display but also allows for a more organized presentation of different cookie varieties. Incorporate price tags that match your theme and are easily readable to streamline the purchasing process for buyers.

Interactive elements, like free samples on a separate platter, can engage customers and encourage them to try before they buy . Be sure to maintain a clean and tidy space, regularly sweeping away crumbs and replacing any sold-out items to keep your booth looking abundant and fresh.

Finally, personal touches, such as twine or ribbon-tied packaging and handwritten labels, can add charm to your cookie booth , making your treats irresistible to bake sale patrons.

Cookie Display Ideas for a Baby Shower

cookie display ideas for a baby shower

Expectant creativity flourishes when cookies double as both treats and decor at a baby shower. To marry form with function, consider pastel-colored macarons arranged in the shape of a baby rattle, each delicate cookie contributing to the larger picture when viewed from afar.

Alternatively, cookies iced to mimic baby items such as onesies, booties, and bibs can be presented in a tiered fashion, each level a canvas for these edible art pieces .

For a touch of whimsy, use clear baby bottles as cookie holders, their transparency showcasing the goodies inside. Cookies held upright in custom stands also offer guests easy access and an appealing visual; plus, they can double as adorable take-home favors.

A dessert table centerpiece might feature a bouquet of cookie pops, frosting-decked and sprinkled, poking out of a decorative vase. Personalized sugar cookies with guests’ names serve dual roles as placeholders and snacks, bridging the gap between utility and delight.

In the realm of practicality, ensuring cookies of different flavors and dietary options are labeled is key. Small signs help guests navigate the offerings with ease, making taste matching a breeze. It’s these thoughtful details that transform a simple cookie offering into a shower highlight, sparking joy and satiating sweet tooths.

Using Vintage Tins to Display Cookies

using vintage tins to display cookies

Transform quaint vintage tins into charming showcases for your baked treats. Start by selecting tins with colors and designs that complement the event’s theme.

Arrange them at varying heights to create dimension on the table. If possible, stack smaller tins atop larger ones or use books to elevate them for visual interest.

To ensure hygiene, line each tin with parchment paper or doilies before arranging your cookies inside. This also adds a decorative touch and makes it easier to pick up the cookies.

Mix and match shapes, sizes, and patterns of tins for a whimsical, eclectic look, or keep it uniform for a more classic feel.

For added nostalgia, consider using tins that hint at the cookie flavors within, such as vintage cocoa tins for chocolate chip cookies.

When guests reach for a cookie, they’ll not only enjoy the flavor but also the unique presentation that harks back to a bygone era.

Rustic Log Slice Cookie Displays

To create a charming and earthy setting for your cookies, consider using log slices as platforms for your treats. The natural wood rings and bark edges of log slices add a touch of rustic elegance and bring an outdoor, woodland vibe to your table setup.

Here are some tips to effectively use log slices in your display:

  • Choose logs with flat surfaces: Ensure stability by selecting slices that lie flat on the table so that cookies can be arranged without wobbling.
  • Vary the heights: Use multiple slices of different thicknesses or stack them to create a dynamic, multi-level display.
  • Protect the wood: To prevent oils or cookie crumbs from seeping into the wood, place a clear food-safe sealant on the wood or use doilies or parchment paper under the cookies.
  • Arrange cookies with care: Space cookies out evenly, and consider the arrangement—perhaps in a circular pattern that mimics the rings of the log for a harmonious look.
  • Accent with greenery: To enhance the natural theme, tuck sprigs of greenery or flowers around the cookies, ensuring they are non-toxic and food-safe if they come in direct contact with the display.

The key is to let the simplicity of nature do the talking, allowing the cookies and the log’s natural beauty to coalesce into an inviting presentation.

How to Make a Cookie Wall Display

how to make a cookie wall display

Creating a cookie wall involves a combination of culinary art and visual design. Begin by selecting a sturdy backdrop, such as a pegboard or wire grid panel, which allows you to attach cookies using hooks or clear fishing lines. Ensure that the board is clean and food-safe before beginning your display.

Choose cookies that have a hole in the center to hang them easily; think classic donut-shaped cookies or customize your own with a small hole before baking. If holes are not possible, use small clear bags to hang cookies by their corners.

Arrange cookies in a pattern or shape to match the theme of the event. You could spell out a name, create a heart, or simply design an ombre effect by using different shades of icing. Use ribbons or small, decorative clothespins to add extra flair to your display, ensuring they complement your event’s color scheme.

Remember to place your cookie wall at eye level for easy access and maximum impact. Provide small takeaway bags or boxes nearby, so guests can enjoy the cookies at their leisure. This interactive display not only serves as a focal point but also engages guests in an unforgettable sweet experience.

Edible Cookie Displays: Using Cookies to Make the Display

edible cookie displays using cookies to make the display

Transform your cookies into both the treat and the centerpiece by constructing the display out of the cookies themselves. Consider the following:

1. Create a cookie tower by stacking sturdy cookies like shortbread in a conical shape, mimicking a tiered cake.

2. Design a cookie puzzle where cookies interlock to form a larger image or shape, serving as an interactive centrepiece that invites guests to disassemble and enjoy.

3. Fashion a cookie bouquet by attaching cookie pops to sticks and arranging them in a vase, offering an eye-catching and edible floral stand-in.

4. Build a cookie box by gluing together cookies with royal icing to form a container, which can be filled with loose candies or smaller cookies.

These creative constructions not only enhance the visual appeal but also add a playful, interactive element to your event, allowing guests to admire and then dismantle the edible art. Always ensure that the structural cookies are of a denser variety to support the display, and use edible adhesives like melted chocolate or icing to secure the arrangement.

Cookie Display Ideas for a 4th of July Party

Celebrate Independence Day with a patriotic spread that’s as visually appealing as it is delicious. Opt for red, white, and blue cookie arrangements to pay homage to the American flag.

Use star-shaped cookies glazed in vibrant colors and displayed on a bed of navy blue or white linen to evoke the feeling of fireworks in the night sky.

Incorporate stripes by layering cookies in rows of red and white on trays, echoing the flag’s stripes.

To add a playful element, fill clear jars with alternately layered colored cookies, mimicking the look of sand art.

For an interactive twist, consider setting up a DIY cookie decorating station with icing, sprinkles, and toppings in patriotic colors, allowing guests to create their own edible masterpieces.

Anchor the display with a centerpiece of a large cookie cake iced like the flag or a replica of the Liberty Bell, ensuring the table is as festive as the fireworks that cap off the night.

A Whimsical Fairy Tale Cookie Display

Transport your guests to an enchanted land with cookies that tell a story. Opt for shapes like stars , moons , castles , and magical creatures .

Adorn a wooden table with moss and faux vines to set the scene. Elevate some cookies on tree stumps and others in clear, bell jars to create depth. Accentuate the display with fairy lights and thematic props, such as a princess tiara or a toy dragon , to bring the fairy tale to life.

Use pastel-colored plates and napkins to complement the whimsical theme. Adding small, hand-painted signs with quotes from beloved fairy tales can serve as charming labels for the different cookie varieties.

Cookie Basket Displays for a Picnic-Themed Event

Imagine a sunny day, a checkered blanket spread on the grass, and a wicker basket brimming with an assortment of delectable cookies—a perfect complement to a picnic-themed event.

To enhance this idyllic setting, select baskets of varying sizes to create a sense of depth and interest on your display table.

Line each basket with gingham or brightly-colored linens that evoke the spirit of a traditional picnic.

Fill the baskets with a mix of cookie types— sugar cookies shaped like flowers , sandwiches filled with cream , or chocolate chip classics .

For a touch of whimsy, you could add miniature flags or tags to each cookie, indicating the flavor or a friendly message like “ Bon Appétit! “

To encourage guests to mingle and try different varieties, place the cookie baskets at various points around the event space.

Not only will this add a decorative touch, but it will also disperse the crowd and create flow.

Consider using elevated surfaces like stacked crates or hay bales to vary the height of your cookie displays, making them visible and inviting.

Now, let the cookies be the centerpiece of connection and enjoyment, truly embodying the leisurely and joyful essence of a picnic.

Using Antique Furniture for Cookie Displays

using antique furniture for cookie displays

Incorporating antique furniture into your cookie display adds a touch of elegance and nostalgia. A well-chosen piece serves as both a conversation starter and a unique showcase for your treats.

Consider these points to effectively use antique furniture for displaying cookies:

  • Buffet Tables & Dressers : Select a vintage buffet table or dresser with a flat surface to arrange your cookies. The intricate woodwork and period style will provide a sophisticated backdrop.
  • Tiered Stands & Trays : Utilize tiered stands and decorative trays on top of antique tables to create an attractive multi-level display that draws the eye upwards.
  • Drawers as Bins : Open the drawers of an antique cabinet to house individually wrapped cookies, turning each drawer into a self-service cookie bin.
  • Painted Antique Chairs : Place a painted antique chair next to your display table, and use its seat to hold a basket or tray of cookies for an unexpected element.
  • Proper Linens : Drape vintage lace tablecloths or embroidered linens over the furniture. This will not only protect the surface but also complement the antique vibe.
  • Lighting : Soft lighting can enhance the ambiance. Position string lights or a classic lamp to illuminate the displayed cookies and add a warm glow.

Antique furniture can elevate a cookie display from simple to extraordinary, seamlessly blending your delectable creations with the charm of yesteryear.

Hang Cookies On a Cookie Tree Display

A cookie tree display enchants guests by combining the novelty of a Christmas tree with the indulgence of homemade cookies. To achieve a delightful presentation, follow these tips:

  • Choose a sturdy tree-shaped stand, ensuring it can support the weight of your cookies.
  • Select cookies with a small hole on top, created prior to baking, which allows them to be hung comfortably.
  • Use decorative ribbons or twine to suspend cookies, adding a touch of elegance and ensuring they are easy to remove.
  • Vary the cookie types and decorate them according to the party theme for a cohesive look.
  • Opt for clear bags if you prefer individual wrapping, which provides a hygienic option and preserves freshness.
  • Intersperse the cookies with small baubles or lights for an extra festive sparkle.

By following these steps, you’ll have a functional and eye-catching centerpiece that encourages guests to pluck their favorite treats from the branches.

Seasonal Cookie Display Ideas

Summer might inspire a beach-themed arrangement with cookie sandcastles and seashell-shaped treats laid out on a bed of brown sugar “sand.”

When autumn rolls in, a palette of rich oranges, reds, and browns alongside pumpkins and leaves can enliven your setup. A winter wonderland display becomes a focal point with snowflake cookies, dustings of powdered sugar to mimic snow, and twinkling lights to mimic the icy glimmer of the season.

Tailoring your cookie displays to the seasonal ambiance adds a certain charm and can make your treats even more appealing.

How to Present Cookies in a Floral Arrangement

Incorporating flowers with cookies in a display enhances the visual appeal and brings a touch of elegance to any event. Choose edible flowers or food-safe blooms to ensure the arrangement is safe for consumption.

Lay out your floral foundation, like a bed of moss or a wreath of greenery, to create a base for your cookies. Position the cookies artfully among the petals, using small vases or floral foam to elevate them at varying heights. Select cookie colors that complement the flowers for a cohesive look.

If you’re using a floral foam, insert the stems of flowers and greenery first, then add the cookies on sticks, like a bouquet. For a multi-tiered effect, intersperse cookies and flowers on a tiered cake stand.

Lastly, ensure all floral elements are non-toxic and have not been treated with pesticides if they will be in direct contact with the cookies.

4 Creative Cookie Displays that Will Delight Your Guests

Valentines Day themed cookies

If you’re looking for a fun and creative way to completely elevate the desserts lineup for your next event, then cookie displays are a great option. Not only can you present your guests with delicious cookies, but you can also work your cookie presentation into your party theme.

So if you’re wondering how to serve cookies at a party, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve got the best cookie presentation ideas that you can use at any type of event!

4 Ways to Display Cookies at Your Wedding, Special Event, or Party

The best part about creative cookie displays is how easy it is to take an idea and add your own unique style! To help inspire you, we have found four of our favorite cookie presentation ideas.

1. Open Cookie Bar

an open cookie bar at a wedding with multiple fresh baked cookies

Ideal for a wedding or any sort of event, an open cookie bar will certainly take your dessert offerings to the next level. Cookies are the perfect sweet treat to enjoy while mingling at a party, so guests can spend time together, and grab a cookie from the bar whenever they want.  And of course, your guests won’t be able to resist helping themselves to a few sweet snackable-sized treats throughout the event!

You can get as creative as you want with your open cookie bar. You can mix and match flavors on different plates, or group them together with all your Chocolate Cherry cookies on one tray, and your Ginger Honey Snap cookies on another. Plus with an open bar, you will have plenty of space for any additional toppings for your guests.

2. Cookie Charcuterie Board Display

Valentine's Day themed Valentines Day

A traditional charcuterie board is all about cured meats, cheeses, crackers, and other snackable food items. While we love tradition, we love the idea of adopting the same concept to serve cookies even more!

The basic concept behind a charcuterie board is an assortment of cured meats and different foods that help complement them. Applying the same formula to cookies, you can serve different flavor cookies alongside other complimentary sweet treats, chocolate dipping sauce, berries, and so much more.

You can create a single large charcuterie board or even offer several smaller cookie display options depending on how many guests you host. Creativity is the name of the game when it comes to cookie presentation and the more creative you can be, the better the results.

3. Cute Cookie Party Favors

Instead of going all out with a cookie display, you can always offer your guests a sweet goodie bag for cookies as party favors. This is a great way to thank everyone for coming and give them something delicious to end their night with. You can make the event even more memorable by leaving a cute message in the packaging!

As is the case with all other cookie displays, let your creativity run wild.

4. Tiered Cookie Stand Displays

A tiered cookie display at a wedding with multiple fresh baked cookies

You’ve probably seen this type of cookie display in a bakery; that’s because it’s efficient! If the pros are doing it, why shouldn’t you? Tiered cookie stands are a great way to save on space by elevating the dessert selections, while still capturing the attention of your guests. Plus, you can easily add decorations to the stands to make them match the theme of your event.

Setting up tiered cookie stands can be as easy or elaborate as you want, which is why we love this option so much. Plus, there are plenty of affordable cookie stand options available, or you can even repurpose your own plates or cake stands.

There are a lot of liberties that you can take with how you present your cookies!

The Art of Gifting Cookies: Tips and Tricks for Perfect Presentations

Baking and gifting cookies can be an incredibly satisfying and heartwarming experience. Mixing ingredients, shaping dough, and watching the cookies rise and brown in the oven can fill the kitchen with pleasant scents and create a sense of anticipation. But the joy of baking cookies doesn’t end there. When it comes to gifting cookies, the way they are presented can make all the difference. Whether it’s a decorative tin, a colorful ribbon, or a handwritten note, the thought and effort put into the presentation can make the gift feel more personal and special. Continue reading to learn tips and tricks for cookie gifting.

Selecting the Right Cookies for Gifting

When you’re choosing cookies for someone, it’s important to take their taste preferences into account. Consider whether they have any dietary restrictions or food allergies and try to choose cookies that suit their tastes. In addition, think about the occasion for which you’re giving the cookies – for example, for summer, you might opt for fresh and fruit-flavored cookies. Finally, it’s a good idea to provide a variety of flavors and textures so that the recipient can enjoy a range of different tastes. A balance of sweet, rich, and fruity cookies can make for a well-rounded and satisfying selection.

Baking Perfect Cookies

If you’re looking to create cookies with the perfect texture and flavor, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, using high-quality ingredients is key to achieving the desired taste and consistency. Additionally, it’s important to consider any variations in altitude or humidity, as this can affect the cooking process and result.

Creative Packaging Ideas & Presentation Techniques

After you have baked your cookies, it’s essential to package them attractively if you wish to give them to your loved ones. There are several creative ways to package your cookies, such as using boxes, baskets, or even creating a bouquet. In our February Blog , you can learn how to create a cookie bouquet. Whatever presentation you choose, you can customize it to match the recipient’s interests or a holiday.

Additionally, it is crucial to consider using eco-friendly packaging options to keep the cookies fresh and delicious. Once you have packaged the cookies, you can personalize them by incorporating notes or cards. You can also add custom labels and tags to add a personal touch.

Delivery Ideas

When it comes to sending cookies, it’s important to consider whether you want to hand-deliver them or ship them. Hand-delivering cookies is a great option if the recipient lives nearby and you want to ensure that the cookies arrive in perfect condition. However, if you’re sending cookies to someone who lives farther away, shipping may be your best option. If you do decide to ship your cookies, there are a few tips you should keep in mind to ensure that they arrive in perfect condition.

First, make sure to package the cookies carefully to prevent them from breaking or getting squished during transit. You can use bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or other protective materials to cushion the cookies and keep them safe.

Additionally, you should consider the weather when shipping cookies. If it’s very hot outside, for example, you may need to pack the cookies with ice packs to keep them from melting. On the other hand, if it’s very cold outside, you’ll want to make sure that the cookies are packaged in a way that will keep them from freezing.

With these tips in mind, you’ll be well on your way to creating beautiful and delicious cookies that are sure to impress your friends and family. Want a delicious and festive cookie bouquet to gift your loved ones but don’t have the time for a DIY project?

20+ Pretty Cookie Packaging Ideas

Part of the fun of handmade gifts are the unique touches that make them special.  Packaging is a very important part of the presentation.  I’ve put together twenty fun cookie packaging ideas  from a variety of resources.  I love each and every one of them and  there is something for every style and budget.  I hope you’ll try a few with your own cookie creations.

presentation ideas for cookies

I found this beautiful cookie assortment assortment on at The Black Apple .  They are packaged in pre-made boxes from the craft store.  You can find similar boxes HERE .

presentation ideas for cookies

$1 Jars from Dollar Tree . I’ve found three different varieties, the  flip top version being my favorite for cookie gifts. Dollar Tree seems to only carry these around the holiday season, so keep your eyes open after Thanksgiving and be sure to pick a few up.  They are very handy to have around.

presentation ideas for cookies

I love this cookie favor bunting I found on 100 Layer Cake Blog .  I made up the name, but in any case, what a wonderful idea!  You can find kraft paper treat bags like the ones above, HERE .

presentation ideas for cookies

I thought these sewn paper candy pouches from Peppermint Plum would work just as well to package cookies.  Just wrap a single cookie in waxed paper before sewing it inside.  It would be especially fun to sew around the shape of the cookie inside.  I can imagine so many versions of this idea…stamped, hand decorated by my kids…the possibilities are endless!

presentation ideas for cookies

I also fell in love with these simple cookie envelopes from Martha Stewart .  You can find templates for the second version HERE .  Of course, it’s Martha, are you surprised?  Turns out she has more cookie packaging ideas than I do cookie cutters!

presentation ideas for cookies

If you want to stay on a budget, try these paper plate baskets from Sarah Hearts .  Use pretty washi tape to make them extra special!

presentation ideas for cookies

If you’re looking for tips on pretty Christmas cookie packaging, head on over to Glorious Treats for tips on perfectly presented cookies like these!

presentation ideas for cookies

I saw this dressed up jar on Anna and Blue Paperie and I knew it would be perfect filled with Christmas cookies.  All you need are cupcake liners, ribbon, and her beautiful printables to create a beautiful jar just like this one.

presentation ideas for cookies

This idea from The Essential Packaging Store Blog is one of my personal favorites.  Use a scrapbooking edger to dress up simple glassine bags .

presentation ideas for cookies

Here’s another idea from Country Living that uses cupcake liners and ribbon to dress up a simple cookie treat.  Attach a card with your favorite recipe {or mine} to make it an EXTRA special treat!

presentation ideas for cookies

Tea and cookies, one of life’s simplest pleasures was the thought behind this packaging idea from Shopgirl.   I am already looking forward to a year of collecting cast off tea cups so I can use this idea myself next year.

presentation ideas for cookies

I also love the idea of re-using disposable household items.  This birch branch is actually a Pringle’s can that Gracie, from Sense and Simplicity , covered with scrapbook paper.  For those of you worried about chip residue, wipe the container clean with a damp rag and soapy water, then air dry.  Better yet, fill them with compost cookies as my friend Laura suggested and it’s perfectly appropriate for them to end up in a potato chip can.

presentation ideas for cookies

This idea from Country Living is another that will have me scouring thrift stores and garage sales throughout the year.  The only thing better than getting cookies is a fun vintage baking pan to go along with them.  Besides that, they make GREAT photo props!

presentation ideas for cookies

This sweet bag from my friend Mique at 30 Handmade Days comes complete with color palette and thoughtful saying.  Just print onto simple kraft bags and tie with twine from The Twinery .

presentation ideas for cookies

This idea from Martha Stewart may very well be my favorite of all, but I am pretty partial to glassware.  Use decorative dishes {old or new} covered with cellophane as packaging for pretty cookie gifts.

presentation ideas for cookies

These handmade petal boxes from Homespun Threads would be perfect for packaging cookies.  Click HERE for a free template.  If you need a smaller version  you can find one HERE .

presentation ideas for cookies

I used this tutorial from Adelyn Stone to dress up plain old throwaway jars for my gingerbread playdough.  It would also work great for cookies. The things you can do with Mod Podge, right?  Perfectly pretty and *almost* free.

presentation ideas for cookies

I like this idea because the little scrap of yarn reminded me of Mom.  I think she would like these.  See the how-to and a recipe for “Grammy’s BEAUTIFUL Swedish pastries” at The Purl Bee .

presentation ideas for cookies

I love the idea of using simple paper bags, like THESE from The Layer Cake Shop to wrap cookies.  Simple but beautiful without a lot of fuss.

presentation ideas for cookies

And another fave…use old tins to package your holiday cookie gifts as suggested by Country Living .

presentation ideas for cookies

Or better yet…if you can’t find vintage tins, spray paint thrift store finds in fun colors or even with chalkboard paint as suggested by Cynthia Shaffer .  You can also use Martha’s doily templates to dress up tired old tins.

That ought to be enough to keep you busy for days, but just in case I have a few more fun links to share…

  • Here is a fun DIY cookie box tutorial from Inking Out of the Box
  • If you need quality boxes for a GREAT price, check out BRP Box Shop .  I buy all my boxes here.  They have a great selection, service, free shipping, and will also send samples, so you can try before you buy.
  • I’m really loving Paperjack’s Paper Ribbon store on ETSY.   It is a simple touch that goes a long way in dressing up cookie packaging.
  • If you’re planning on shipping cookies, learn all my best tips HERE .
  • If you are still not sure what to wrap up, never fear.  Here are 100 of the hottest holiday cookie recipes from myrecipes.com .  They had me at chai tea eggnog cookies …

If you have seen any other unforgettable packaging ideas OR recipes, feel free to share.  Christmas is right around the corner.  Only ten short days to do all of the last minute shopping, baking, and the most important thing, spending  time with the ones you love.  No pressure or anything!

As for me, I’ll be spending the weekend “in town” {if you aren’t from the boonies that means the closest city will Target, Starbucks and a mall} picking up the last few items that I couldn’t find on Amazon.  Wish me luck!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Presentation is Everything – Cookie Packaging Must-Haves

Presentation is Everything – Cookie Packaging Must-Haves

We’ve all heard that “presentation is everything” and when you’re a cottage baker, it is SO IMPORTANT! Home bakeries are in a unique position to set themselves apart, show how professional their businesses are while showcasing their amazing goods. Today I’m sharing all my top picks to elevate your cookie packaging to ensure it makes a great first impression. After all, if you’ve spent hours creating these beautiful works of art, PLEASE take the time to package them accordingly to WOW your customers!

How Much to Spend on Packaging?

You don’t have to spend a lot to have professional, quality packaging. I will tell you I strive for a healthy balance of beautiful packaging without breaking the bank. I’m naturally very fiscally conservative and this transfers to my customer’s perspective. Pricing is a HUGE component of being a successful cottage baker. You are running a business and have to make smart decisions regarding every dollar you spend. I do everything I can to keep prices fair and competitive for my customers while paying myself fairly. If I can present my goods beautifully with a very small margin going to packaging, I’ve done my job well. My customers don’t want to pay for packaging, and I want to respect the money they are spending.

You will find bakers at both ends of the spectrum on this. Some don’t want to spend hardly any money on packaging, but it shows in the presentation and will ultimately cost you sales. When customers purchase food items, they need to look professional and sanitary. If your packaging is lacking in these areas, it will be a turn-off. Do yourself a favor and spend a realistic amount to showcase your talent. The recommendations I’m sharing for cookie packaging today will hit the mark for presentation while letting you keep your hard-earned profit.

Other bakers really want that high-end feel and spend BIG bucks on their packaging. I’m talking custom-made, colored, embossed boxes, tissue paper, giant ribbons and more. Now, I firmly believe in “to each their own” and if high-end packaging is what you love, live it up! You just have to remember that someone is paying for your packaging – you or your customers. If you choose to spend a lot on packaging, your profit margins will be lower, or you need to increase your prices, which may deter sales. But maybe your business is the sweet spot with affluent clientele willing to consistently pay the higher prices for what they see as a higher-end product. In which case, rock on with your fancy self!

Cookie Packaging Recommendations

Every business has to decide what packaging is best for their business, their customers and their bottom line. Here are some of my FAVORITE go-to packaging products!

Individual Cookie Bags

We individually package almost ALL of our cookies. Especially in the last couple years of Covid, individually packaged products ensure the best level of cleanliness and freshness.

If you are just starting your business or prefer self-sealing bags, these are my favorite self-sealing bags. We’ve literally used thousands of these and have tried many different brands but always come back to these. I love the 1.4 mil thickness; we’ve had other brands that are thinner, and they stick to your icing. BOO. We always keep these two sizes in stock, but this company has a long list of other sizes for unique needs.

  • 4 x 6 Cookie Bags – for cookies 3″ or smaller
  • 5 x 7 Cookie Bags – for cookies 3.5″ and larger

Now if you want the ultimate in freshness for your cookies, I definitely recommend heat sealing. It’s easy, quick and does keep your cookies softer for longer compared to self-sealing bags which are not airtight. Here is the heat sealer we have, which is undoubtably the most popular among cookiers, along with recommended bags.

  • Heat Sealer – a cookier fave!
  • 4 x 6 Cookie Bags
  • 5 x 7 Cookie Bags

I think cookies present beautifully in a bakery box with a window. These are my favorites that we always keep in stock!

  • 12 x 5.5 x 2.5 White Cookie Box – these are perfect when packaging a few large cookies or up to a dozen average-sized cookies. These are also perfect for a dozen cake pops! We commonly add some paper shred for nice presentation.

Moretoes 30pcs Cookie Boxes, 12x5.5x2.5 Inches White Bakery Boxes with Window, Chocolate Strawberry Boxes, Dessert Boxes for Donuts, Pies, Cakes, Muffins, Pastries, Mother's Day

  • 12 x 12 x 3 White Cookie Box – there aren’t enough words to convey how much I LOVE these boxes. Seriously, they are such high-quality in look and feel. We use these when packaging cookie platters and they showcase beautifully.

CHERRY 15-Pack 12'x12'x3'White Bakery Boxes with PVC Window for Pie and Cookies Boxes Large Natural Paper Box,Pack of 15

  • 8 x 8 x 2.5 White Cookie Box – when you’re looking for a square box, these are perfect!

Moretoes 30pcs 8x8x2.5 Inches White Bakery Boxes Valentine Treat Boxes Cookie Boxes Pastry Boxes with Window for Cookies, Donuts, Chocolate Strawberries and Pie

  • 8 x 6 x 2.5 White Cookie Box – a favorite among cookiers!

Moretoes 24pcs Bakery Boxes, 8x6x2.5 Inches 3 Style Windows Cookie Boxes, Treat Boxes with Window for Candies, Chocolate Strawberries, Cakes, Muffins, Donuts

  • 6 x 6 x 3 White Cookie Box – we don’t use boxes this small very often, but they are beautiful when you’re looking for a smaller size!

Moretoes 30pcs Bakery Boxes 6x6x3 Inches Cookie Box with Window for Valentines Day White Treat Boxes for Small Pie, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Cupcake and Pastry

I do want to add that BRP Box Shop is also a VERY popular source for cookie boxes and packaging! They have a TON of different configurations, colors, styles, anything you can think of! They also always have free shipping to the lower 48 states, which is a huge perk! Admittedly, I’ve never purchased boxes from BRP, but I know other cookiers love them. I have always found what I was looking for elsewhere for a better price, but I do think they have good deals depending on what you are looking for. I also find their site a bit overwhelming because there are just SO many options! But if you’re looking for something unique, I recommend it!

Cookie Packaging Accessories

Grease Resistant Cookie Cards (backers) : Many Cookiers like these cookie backers, especially if they are individually bagging cookies that won’t be put into a box. These grease free cookie cards provide structure to your bag and keep the cookies in place. Many cookiers buy the 12 x 12′ size and cut to size as needed.

Paper Shred: A commonly used filler that can add up in price if you’re not shopping around! Many cookiers stop at Dollar Tree for their range of colors and cheap price. It’s an easy option if you’re not using a lot of paper shred. But if you’re using a large volume, Dollar Tree is not going to be your most cost-effective option. At $1.25 for 1.8oz, that makes 10lbs of paper shred from Dollar Tree $111.25 plus tax. At Staples, you can get 10lbs of white or Kraft brown paper shred for $51 (at the time of this writing). That’s $60 to keep in your bank account!

Ribbon or Stretch Loops: These add a pretty, finished touch to your packaging and you can pick up ribbon or stretch loops for cheap at Walmart, Amazon, ClearBags.com and others.

Labeling: Don’t forget about cute labeling, not only to stay in compliance with Cottage Laws, but to promote your business. You can design cute tags on Canva and we have also designed cute labels on Avery.com and then print them ourselves. There is also an endless amount of adorable designs on Etsy!

Cookie Packaging Goals

I can’t underscore this enough; if you are running a business, you need to take the time to find the best deals on your packaging! It can make the difference of hundreds or even thousands of dollars a year. And even more importantly, it represents you and your business!

I hope this post all about cookie packaging is helpful! This is another chance to show your personality and signature style!

Special Occasions, Sweet Treats: Creative Cookie Gifting Ideas

downtonabbeycooks · November 16, 2023 ·

presentation ideas for cookies

This article provides some unique ideas on giving cookies as a gift guaranteed to make people smile. From traditional basket arrangements to cleverly crafted towers made of pre-packaged cookies, discover a range of options that will surprise your giftee and show off your talent as a baker (even if it is store-bought). Here we go: prepare for some fun and tasty ways to package cookie gifts this year.

Personalize your Cookie Gift with a Special Message

When it comes to gift-giving, it’s the small details that can make all the difference. A personalized cookie gift is excellent for showing your thoughtfulness and care. What better way to make someone’s day than by presenting them with a delicious treat customized just for them? Adding a special message to your cookie gift takes it to the next level, demonstrating that you have carefully considered your present.

Whether celebrating a special occasion or showing someone how much you care, a personalized cookie gift with a special message will leave a lasting impression and solidify your bond with the recipient. Some great cookies to send as gift packages include decorated sugar cookies with personalized messages, monogrammed cookies, or even fortune cookies with customized fortunes.

Get Creative with Cookie Shapes and Sizes

Who says cookies have to be round? Switch things up with unique cookie shapes and sizes that will catch your gift recipient’s eye. From heart-shaped cookies for Valentine’s Day to snowflake-shaped ones for the holidays, you can easily find cookie cutters in fun and festive shapes at your local kitchen supply store or online. You can also create custom shapes using a stencil and a sharp knife.

Additionally, you can play around with cookie sizes to create a visually appealing gift. For example, you could make a tower of mini cookies using multiple flavors or decorate oversized cookies uniquely. The endless possibilities will add playful charm to your cookie gift.

Create Unique Flavor Combinations for Cookies

While classic chocolate chip and sugar cookies are always a hit, why not try something different with your cookie gifting? Create unique flavor combinations that will surprise and delight the recipient. You can experiment with chocolates, nuts, dried fruits, or spices to give your cookies a unique twist.

You can also consider making themed cookie flavours based on the occasion or recipient’s preferences. For example, for a summer barbecue, you could make tropical-inspired cookies with coconut and pineapple, or for a friend who loves coffee, you could make mocha-flavoured cookies with a hint of espresso.

Experiment with Different Icing and decorations

Another fun way to get creative with cookie gifting is experimenting with different types of icing and decorations. You can use colourful royal icing to pipe intricate designs onto your cookies or use melted chocolate as a drizzle. You can add texture and dimension to your cookies by sprinkling on various toppings such as crushed nuts, colourful sprinkles, or edible glitter.

If you’re feeling extra artistic, try cookie painting using food coloring and a small paintbrush. Your giftee will be impressed by your cookies’ delicious taste and beautiful presentation.

Package Cookies Creatively to Make them Look Even More Appealing

Packaging your cookies is not just important; it plays a crucial role in making your gift even more appealing. Consider exploring various packaging and presentation ideas to add a touch of creativity. You can opt for a rustic basket or a wooden crate for a classic and traditional look. If you prefer a more contemporary and vibrant appearance, try wrapping each cookie individually in colourful cellophane bags tied with beautiful ribbons.

Additionally, you can showcase your delightful cookies on an elegant platter or place them inside a decorative tin, adding a touch of personality to your gift. Attention to these details can elevate the overall presentation and make your cookies stand out.

Choose Quality Ingredients for the Best-Tasting Cookies

When it comes to creating the perfect cookie gift, there’s one crucial factor that should always be considered: quality ingredients. Using high-quality butter, flour, and other baking essentials will produce cookies that taste amazing and have a beautiful texture and appearance. Imagine biting into a perfectly crisp cookie on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside, with a tantalizing aroma that fills the room.

But let’s take it a step further. Use fresh ingredients such as natural vanilla extract or seasonal fruits to elevate your cookie flavors. Picture the burst of flavor that comes from biting into a cookie with juicy chunks of ripe strawberries or fragrant specks of vanilla bean. These small touches can make a difference and take your homemade cookies to the next level of deliciousness.

Remember, the goal here is to create a truly memorable and thoughtful gift. So, make sure to include the ingredients. Your giftee will undoubtedly appreciate the extra effort you put into making these delectable treats just for them. They might even be so blown away by your cookies that they’ll be begging for your secret recipe. And who knows, you may become the go-to cookie maker among your family and friends, all because you took the time to select the finest ingredients and add that extra touch of love and care.

An interactive presentation is a dynamic and engaging communication format that involves active participation and collaboration between the presenter and the audience. Unlike traditional presentations where information is delivered in a one-way manner, interactive presentations invite the audience to interact, respond and contribute throughout the session.

Think of it as a two-way street where you and your audience have a friendly chat. It’s like playing a fun game where you ask questions, get live feedback and encourage people to share their thoughts.

To make a good presentation , you can utilize various tools and techniques such as clickable buttons, polls, quizzes, discussions and multimedia elements to transform your slides into an interactive presentation. Whether you’re presenting in-person or giving a virtual presentation — when people are actively participating, they’re more likely to remember the stuff you’re talking about.

Interactive presentations leave a lasting impression on the audience. By encouraging active participation and feedback, interactive presentations facilitate better understanding and knowledge retention. Here are 15 innovative 5-minute interactive presentation ideas to captivate your audience from start to finish:

1. Ice-breaker questions

Start your presentation with intriguing and thought-provoking questions or a fun icebreaker game. These questions should be designed to pique the audience’s curiosity and encourage them to think about the topic you’ll be covering. By doing so, you create an immediate connection with your audience and set the stage for a more engaged and attentive audience.

For example, if you’re giving a business presentation about management and leadership training, you could ask audience questions such as “What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received, and how has it impacted your career?”

2. Live polling

Incorporate live polls during your presentation using audience response systems or polling apps. This allows you to collect real-time feedback, opinions and insights from active participants. Live polling encourages active participation and involvement, making your presentation feel like a collaborative and interactive experience.

3. Q&A sessions

Encourage the audience to ask questions throughout your presentation, especially for pitch deck presentations . Address these questions in real-time, which fosters a more interactive and dynamic atmosphere. This approach shows that you value the audience’s input and promotes a two-way communication flow.

4. Clickable buttons

Add clickable buttons to your slides, allowing the audience to navigate to specific sections or external resources at their own pace. For example, you could include links to your social media accounts or extra reading materials in your education presentation to give further information about the topic and get your students engaged.

By providing this autonomy, you empower the audience to explore areas of particular interest, creating a more personalized and engaging experience through your interactive slideshow.

Creating interactive presentations can be a game-changer for engaging your audience and enhancing your presentation skills, but steering clear of common pitfalls is essential. Here are some key mistakes to avoid when crafting your interactive presentations:

1. Overloading with interactivity

While interactivity is fantastic, bombarding your audience with too many interactive elements can backfire. Strive for a balanced approach that enhances engagement without overwhelming your listeners.

2. Ignoring audience relevance

Failing to tailor interactive elements to your audience’s interests and preferences can lead to disconnection. Make sure your interactions resonate with your specific audience for a more meaningful experience.

3. Not testing interactive elements

Skipping thorough testing of interactive features before showtime can spell disaster. Avoid technical glitches by diligently testing all interactive components in advance.

4. Poor timing and pace

Timing is everything, especially with interactive activities. Ensure seamless integration by planning your key points and the timing of your interactive elements carefully.

5. Lack of clear purpose

Every interactive element should serve a purpose and contribute to your presentation’s objectives. Don’t add interactions just for the sake of it — ensure they add value and align with your message.

6. Failing to engage beyond interactivity

While interactive elements are powerful tools, remember that content is king. Combine your interactive features with compelling storytelling and valuable insights to create an immersive and impactful presentation.

Incorporating animated slides into your interactive presentations enhances the overall appeal and interaction, turning an ordinary presentation into an engaging experience. Try it out with one of our animated presentation templates to get started.

12 Clever Ways to Gift-Wrap Your Christmas Cookies

Make your homemade cookies look even more impressive with these creative cookie wrapping ideas.

Zee is a former associate digital editor for MarthaStewart.com.

Your favorite holiday cookie recipe calls for extra love, so why not put lots of care into the batch's gift wrapping , too? After all, holiday cookies are a fantastic present for people you interact with on a daily basis—think friends, co-workers, teachers, and neighbors.

From snickerdoodles and shortbread to biscotti and thumbprints, baking is only half the fun when gifting cookies. Presentation is key; using simple crafting skills, you can make your edible gift feel that much more special when you dress it up in packaging that makes use of seasonal motifs.

Using cellophane wrappers, decorated gift boxes, and more, our holiday cookie packaging ideas will give you all the inspiration you're looking for this season.

Icicle Treat Bags

The icy color palette of these cone-shaped treat bags show chocolate, powdered, or brightly decorated cookies at their best—and the cellophane bag inside keeps your treats fresh. Adorn each with a name tag to further personalize the gift.

Pine Ribbon Gift Box

Give a plain box a seasonal makeover with fresh pine sourced from your own backyard. Arrange the leaves in a small ring and glue together the stems before securing the delicate wreath with ribbon.

Satin Bow Cookie Gift Box

These charming packages of holiday cookies are like a woodland fantasy in each box. To keep the cookies from sticking, we sandwiched each between layers of waxed kraft paper. Fine wood shavings protect the cookies from any breakage. Embellish the outside of the boxes with your choice of wrapping paper and your own adornments. Here, we use a graphic tree cutout to accompany the satin ribbon.

Christmas Cookie Crackers Set

Stack this year's holiday cookies and sweets inside store-bought clear tubes. At under $1 each, they're more affordable than tins or plastic containers; they're also sturdier in transit than cellophane wrapping. Finish them with our custom clip art to secure the boxes by covering the tube's end caps.

Statement Crepe Wrap

Make a statement with your wrapping by placing your cookies in a simple box and covering it with gold crepe paper. For an extra festive touch, cinch the paper on both ends with a fabric Christmas lights garland.

This clever wrapping technique is like two presents in one. Keep the cookies secure by placing them in a box then wrapping it with a beautiful printed linen. Your giftee won't just be getting a delicious treat—they'll also receive a stunning kitchen towel.

Town House Gift Boxes

Quaint town house boxes are a creative way to package " lebkuchen ," a type of cookie that the German town of Nuremberg has been famous for since the late 1300s. Create a custom sleeve that slips over a box filled with cookies.

Mix-and-Match Cookie Tins

A mixed cookie tin is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Line the bottom and sides of a square or rectangular airtight tin with corrugated paper. Fold short lengths in half for dividers. Then, envelop your cookies in tissue paper, buffer them with corrugated paper tubes, and protect them using accordion folds of red paper. You can also tie a short stack of cookies with baker's twine.

Cellophane-Wrapped Cookie Sleeve

Treats as pretty as home-baked cookies shouldn't be hidden in paper or cardboard. Here, neat rows of chocolate-espresso wafers and orange-ginger rounds are rolled in cellophane, and the ends are finished with ribbons.

Cookie Jars

Show off your beautiful Christmas cookies in clear jars with festive lids. After all, who would want to hide these palmiers (a classic French treat that's sometimes called palm leaves) in a closed box? For cookies that are shapely and beautiful all on their own, up-cycle a mason jar instead.

Holiday Cookie Mailing Tubes

Just the right shape for mailing (or hand-delivering) cookies, bright-colored cardboard tubes look even more festive when outfitted in red and white to mimic the season's best candy canes. Nail the look by cutting strips of adhesive paper in different widths with a utility knife on a straightedge; then, wrap the strips of adhesive paper around your mailing tubes. Wrap and pack your cookies in decorative tissue paper before slipping them into the tube.

Kitchen Molds

Kitchen molds make attractive gift containers, and they serve the recipient well long after the cookies are eaten. Here, pudding molds lined with parchment make excellent vessels for soft cookies.

12 Fun Presentation Ideas for Your Next PowerPoint Night

  • The Speaker Lab
  • May 22, 2024

Table of Contents

PowerPoint presentations aren’t always for boardroom meetings. Sometimes, they’re a great way to shake things up and have some fun. For instance, maybe you’re a teacher trying to come up with fun ways to practice impromptu speeches. Or maybe you’re in leadership and looking for a way to work in some team building exercises .

Whatever your goal, we have 12 fun PowerPoint presentation ideas for you to use. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time presenter, these themes are guaranteed to bring the laughs and make your night one to remember. No need for comedy chops or design skills—all you need is a dash of creativity, a bit of courage, and a readiness to have a blast.

How to Host a PowerPoint Night

If you’re committed to making this PowerPoint night a reality, you’ll first want to make sure you have the logistics sorted out before jumping into fun presentation ideas. Using our foolproof tips, you can ensure your PowerPoint party is a smashing success. From choosing the perfect theme to keeping the laughs coming all night long, we have you covered.

Choosing a Theme

First things first, you need to pick a theme. This will help guide your guests as they create their presentations. Choose a broad theme that allows for creative interpretation, such as “Unpopular Opinions” or “Conspiracy Theories.” This way, everyone can put their own spin on it and bring something unique to the table.

Creating a Presentation Template

In order to keep things cohesive, it’s a good idea to provide a basic template for your guests to use. Create a Google Slides template with a consistent color scheme and font. This will help maintain visual consistency throughout the night and make it easier for those who may not be as design-savvy to focus on their content.

Encouraging Participation

In some cases, not everyone is going to jump at the chance to create a PowerPoint presentation in their free time. That’s why it’s important to encourage participation. Offer incentives like a prize for the most creative presentation or a “People’s Choice Award” voted on by the audience. A little friendly competition can help participants engage more.

Sharing Presentations

When it comes to the actual presentation night, you want to make sure everything runs smoothly. Use a platform like Google Slides or Prezi that allows for easy sharing and collaboration. This way, you can seamlessly transition between presentations without any awkward lulls. And if you have friends who can’t make it in person, they can still join in on the fun remotely.

Remember, for each of these suggestions, they’re just that—suggestions. Based on the vibe and size of your group, you may want to tweak these suggestions to allow for more creativity and fun. If you’re not sure how to strike the balance between creativity and structure, just experiment and ask for feedback for your participants.

Fun Presentation Ideas for Your Next PowerPoint Night

PowerPoint nights offer a fun-filled opportunity to strengthen friendships while letting your imagination run wild . If you’re searching for inspiration for your next PowerPoint night, look no further. Below, we’ve compiled fun presentation ideas that will help your crew grow and laugh together!

Bucket List

Forget boring old bucket lists—it’s time to level up with this PowerPoint presentation. Gather your squad and get ready to share your craziest dreams and aspirations. Skydiving? Learning to cook like a pro? Finally writing that novel? Create a presentation showcasing your ultimate bucket list items and the reasons why they matter to you. Not only will it be a blast, but you might just inspire each other to start making those dreams come true.

Dog Breeds as People

If you’re a dog lover, then this one’s for you. Imagine if different dog breeds were people. What would their personalities be like? Would a chihuahua be the sassy, high-maintenance friend who always needs to be the center of attention? Would a golden retriever be the loyal, always-down-for-a-good-time pal? Compare different dog breeds to human personality types and get ready for some laughs—especially if you decide to create some art for your slides.

Celebrity Lookalikes

We’ve all gotten the “you look like so-and-so” comment at some point. Well, now’s your chance to lean into it. Have everyone find their celebrity doppelganger and create a side-by-side comparison slide. Bonus points if you dress up as your celebrity twin for the presentation.

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. A mood board, however, is the perfect way to express yourself without saying a thing. Design a mood board that represents your current state of mind, goals, or aesthetic. Incorporate images, quotes, and colors that capture the essence of your chosen theme. It’s like a window into your soul, but with way better visuals.

Social Media Profiles

Social media is a wild place. But have you ever wondered what it would be like if historical figures or fictional characters had their own profiles? Now’s your chance to find out. Create a mock social media profile for a famous person from the past or a beloved character, complete with status updates, likes, and comments that align with their personality. It’s like fan fiction, but with a 21st-century twist.

Fun Interactive Ideas for Your Presentation

There are plenty of fun presentation ideas out there, but what about interactive ones? Luckily for you, we have some in store. The best part is you don’t need a Hollywood budget or a degree in computer science to make it happen. All it takes is a dash of creativity and some smart planning, and you’ll be delivering top-notch interactive presentations in no time.

Childhood Photos

Liven up your next presentation with this interactive idea: request childhood photos from your audience beforehand. Incorporate these snapshots into your slides, and create a story that ties all of them together. Your audience will love the personal touch, and it’ll spark conversations and connections that last long after the presentation ends. Afterwards, you can even have people share the background behind their photo(s). Not only does this fun presentation idea allow people to share nostalgic stories, but it also gives people the chance to learn about the others better.

Unpopular Opinions

Another fun interactive presentation idea is to poll your audience on their unpopular opinions. This works especially well if you’re already presenting on a topic that people tend to have strong feelings about, like politics or pop culture. Create a list of controversial statements related to your topic, then ask your audience to vote on whether they agree or disagree with each one.

For instance, say you’re giving a presentation on social media marketing, and you decide to poll the audience on statements like “Instagram outshines Twitter.” In addition to engaging your audience, throwing in a few interactive polls can also help you gauge what they already know about your topic.

Conspiracy Theories

Here’s a pro tip: if you want to make your presentation unforgettable, then ask your audience about conspiracy theories connected to your topic. People love sharing their favorite theories, and it’s a fantastic way to break the ice and get everyone talking. Take those theories and run with them—you’ll be surprised at how much fun everyone has.

For instance, say you’re giving a presentation on media literacy. By asking people to share the wildest conspiracy theory they’ve ever heard, you can then break down the elements that made it seem compelling (even if it wasn’t true). You can then use conspiracy theories as a way to talk about the importance of critical thinking. It’s a fun way to get people thinking about how media messages are constructed and how to spot misinformation.

Here’s the secret to making interactive presentation ideas work: keep them on-topic and audience-appropriate. Quizzes and polls are awesome, but only if they drive home your key points. And here’s the really important part—have fun up there! After all, if you’re loving what you’re talking about, your audience will too.

Powerpoint Night Theme Ideas for Your Friend Group

When it comes to planning a PowerPoint night with your besties, the possibilities are endless. But sometimes, having too many options can be overwhelming. That’s where themed nights come in clutch.

Selecting a theme for your PowerPoint party isn’t just about limiting the scope of presentation topics; it’s a chance to inject more fun and originality into the event. It also provides a unique opportunity to strengthen your bond with your friend group by learning about their experiences and interests. Let’s take a look at some fun theme ideas for your next PowerPoint presentation night.

Favorite Memory

Take a trip down memory lane and have each friend share their favorite memory with the group. It could be a hilarious inside joke, an epic adventure you all went on together, or a heartwarming moment that brought you closer.

TV Characters You Relate To

We all have that one TV character that we see a little bit of ourselves in. Have each friend choose a character they identify with most and explain why. It could be a shared personality trait, a similar life experience, or just a general vibe.

Lessons Learned

Life is full of ups and downs, and sometimes the most valuable lessons come from the hardest experiences. Have each friend share a life lesson they’ve learned and how it’s impacted them. It could be a lesson about love, friendship, career, or personal growth. The key is to be vulnerable and honest.

Create a “Starter Pack”

Starter packs are a popular meme format that typically include a collection of items, traits, or experiences that are associated with a particular type of person or group. Have each friend create a starter pack meme that represents their personality, interests, or quirks. It’s a fun way to sum up who you are in a visual way and bond over your shared (or contrasting) starter packs.

The beauty of PowerPoint nights is that there are no rules. No matter which theme you choose, the most important thing is to have fun and let your creativity shine.
