My Favourite Game Cricket Essay : Cricket being the most popular game amongst the others is the favourite of all the kids and adults. For most of the Indians it’s not just a game but a festival. We can live without watching the news but we can’t sit back without knowing the score. We have so much love for this game that mere words are not enough to describe it.

Out of all the games I love to play cricket the most. It is the most popular game around the world. I love to watch and play the game as well. This game is played in many formats like T20, ODI and test matches.
I love to watch the ODI world cup which is held every 4 years by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the match I enjoy the most is India vs Pakistan. Cricket originated from England and from there it was spread around the globe.
Cricket is a game played between two teams of 11 players each. Each team has to play until they reach the over limit or until the team is all out. The team which makes the most runs wins the match. Each team has batsman , bowlers and fielders .
I love to play cricket with my friends in the playground. And not just at home but even at our school we play cricket daily and have practice. My friends and team doesn’t let me do batting much but they always let me bowl because I take the most wickets and do not let the other team make many runs.

I play a lot of games but cricket is my favourite. Cricket is played between two teams. The teams can consist of 11 players. The game is played with a ball and a bat.
The team which scores the most run is the winner of this game. This game is played on different levels like international, national etc. Cricket has several formats such as ‘One day’, ‘Test cricket’ and ‘T20’.
Cricket is considered a gentleman’s sport. Cricket was invented in England. Other than the players there are two more people present on the field they are the umpires. Umpires take the final decision of any action in the game.
The players who throw the ball are called the bowlers; the players who hit the ball using the bat are called the batsmen. Each bowler can bowl for one over which contains six balls. The players who catch the ball or stop the ball after the batsmen hit are called the fielders.
Before the game a coin toss is done between the two teams, whoever wins the toss he gets to decide if they want to bat or bowl. This game is played on the field and in the centre of the field is the pitch.
While doing the batting, the bowler can take the wicket of the batsmen by either hitting directly the stumps behind him or by throwing the ball at the stumps on either side of the pitch while the batsman is taking a run. Another way to take a wicket is when the batsman hits the ball in the air and the fielder catches it before the ball hits the ground or the boundary.
Cricket was first played by Prince Edward in England during the sixteenth century and from there it began to spread throughout the world and this was the reason why this game was called a ‘Royal Game’.
In India this game was introduced by the British and now this game has become more popular and loved than our national game.
A council called the International Cricket Council (ICC) was created to organize and support the game. ICC also provided the proper rules and regulations for the game.
One day or ODI format is basically a match that is played in one day where each team has to play for 50 overs in that single day.
T20 format is one in which each team has to play for 20 overs. This format is played in different tournaments like Indian Premier League (IPL) and ICC T20 World cup which is held every four years.
At last I would like to conclude my essay by saying that I love cricket because of how easily this game could be understood and played and someday I would like to work hard and make it to team India and represent my nation
