Admission to 2nd Year M.Com
After the 1st year, whether you pass/attempt first year examinations or not, you are eligible to seek admission to 2nd year M.Com by submitting the Course Registration Form as per the schedule notified by the university. Normally, the university sends the Course Registration Form in the month of January, which is to be submitted to the university on or before 31st March along with a fee of Rs. 4000. However, the form will be accepted upto 30th April with a late fee of Rs. 200, upto 31st May with Rs. 500 late fee and upto 20th June with Rs. 1000 late fee.
Evaluation System The evaluation system consists of two components: 1) continuous evaluation through assignments, and 2) term-end examination. In the final result, assignment (continuous evaluation) carry 30% weightage, while term-end examination carries 70% weightage.
The following is the scheme of evaluation and awarding divisions:
I Division - 60% and above
II Division - 50% to 59.9%
Pass - 40% to 49.9%
Unsuccessful - Below 40%
You are required to score at least 40% marks in both continuous evaluation (assignments) as well as the term-end examination. The score of continuous evaluation and term-end examination are not complementary to each other for qualifying a course. Term-end Examinations
As stated earlier, term-end examination is the major component of the evaluation system and it carries 70% weightage in the final result. The University conducts term-end examination twice a year i.e., in June and December. You can take the examination after completion of the course. Whenever you are repeating examination you can appear either in June & December. In case you fail to get a pass score in the Term-end Examination, you will be eligible to reappear at the next Term-end Examination for that courses as and when it is held, within the total span of the programme. Eligibility for Examination: To be eligible to appear at the Term-end Examination in any course, you are required to fulfil the following four conditions:
1) You should have paid registration fee for that year.
2) You should have opted and pursued the prescribed course.
3) You should complete the submission of assignment for the respective course.
4) You should submit the examination form with a fee of Rs. 50 per course in time (which is explained later).
Examination Date Sheet: Examination date sheet (Schedule which indicates the date and time of examination for each course) is sent to all the Study Centres approximately 5 months in advance. The same is also notified sheet for June examinations is sent in the month of January/February and for December examination in the month of July/August.
Examination Form: It is an essential pre-requisite for you to submit the Examination Form for taking examination in any course. Copies of the examination forms are available at Study Centres/Regional Centres/Student Registration and Evaluation Division at Headquarters. Only one form is to be submitted for all the courses in one term-end examination. You have to pay term-end examination fee of Rs. 50 per course along with the application form. Examination fee (Rs. 50 per course) along with late fee (if any) shall be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'IGNOU' and payable at New Delhi.
