English Essay on “A Strange Incident” English Essay-Paragraph-Speech for Class 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 CBSE Students and competitive Examination.

A Strange Incident

One evening while returning home from school, a strange incident took place.

As my annual examinations were approaching, I had begun to attend extra classes.

As you know, evenings in hill stations are very misty. On this particular evening too, a mist lay thick all over. It was impossible to see clearly, so I got off my bicycle and began walking with it.

There was not a single person on the street but suddenly in the distance, I saw the figure of a man. I started walking faster but as I approached him, I noticed something odd. He seemed to be floating in the air! His feet were not even touching the ground! Afraid, yet fascinated, I just could not take my eyes off him.

Soon I got this strange feeling that the man had stopped and was waiting for me to pass. Beads of perspiration trickled down my face while my heart pounded loudly with fear. Then, as I crossed his path, the stranger held out a hand and said, “Go home quickly son. Don’t waste your time.” Not daring to look at his face, I sped home as fast as I could. I cycled as though ten tigers were chasing me!

At my house, I found my mother talking to a crowd of people outside. Breathless, I ran to her. She hugged me and wept, “Thank goodness you’ve come! Your father has had a heart attack, and we’re taking him to hospital. Now, be a brave girl and give him a smile.”

Holding my father’s hand on the way to the hospital, I remembered the strange man who had given me such an important message on this cold, misty evening. Silently, I thanked him for speeding me on my way to be with my family, in their hour of need.

Essay on An Incident That Changed My Life

Students are often asked to write an essay on An Incident That Changed My Life in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on An Incident That Changed My Life

Introduction.

Life is a series of events. Some leave a deep impact on us. For me, it was my first camping trip that changed my life.

The Incident

I was ten when I joined the Scouts. Our first camping trip was a challenging experience. We were lost in the woods at night.

That incident made me brave. I learned to face challenges head-on. It also ignited a love for nature in me.

That camping trip was a turning point in my life. It taught me resilience and made me a better person.

250 Words Essay on An Incident That Changed My Life

A day at the shelter.

One cold winter’s day, I found myself in a bustling homeless shelter, surrounded by faces marked with hardship and resilience. The shelter, a beacon of hope for many, was a place where the less fortunate could find warmth, food, and a sense of community. My task was simple: serve meals and engage in conversation.

The Encounter

Among the many people I met, one man’s story struck a chord. A former engineer, he had fallen victim to circumstances beyond his control and lost everything. Despite his dire situation, he radiated positivity and hope. Our conversation was a stark reminder of life’s unpredictability, and it shattered my preconceived notions about homelessness.

Life-altering Realizations

The encounter made me reflect on my privileges and the transient nature of success. I realized that compassion and understanding were more valuable than material wealth. It also unveiled my passion for social work and ignited a desire to contribute to society more actively.

The day at the shelter was an incident that profoundly changed my life. It taught me to value humanity over materialism, and it guided me towards a path of social service. Life is indeed unpredictable, but it’s these unexpected moments that hold the power to redefine our purpose and transform our lives.

500 Words Essay on An Incident That Changed My Life

Life is a series of events, some ordinary and others extraordinary. Often, it is the extraordinary incidents that have the power to transform our lives completely. This essay delves into one such incident that not only changed my perspective but also my life’s trajectory.

The Unexpected Encounter

A lesson in resilience.

John was a retired teacher who had lost everything due to a series of unfortunate events. Despite his circumstances, he never lost his spirit or his love for teaching. He would gather the children in the shelter every evening and teach them with an enthusiasm that was truly inspiring. His resilience in the face of adversity was a lesson in itself.

The Life-Changing Conversation

One day, I mustered the courage to ask John how he managed to remain positive. His reply was simple yet profound, “Life is not about what happens to you, but how you respond to it.” He explained that he chose to focus on the things within his control, like his attitude and actions, rather than dwelling on his misfortunes.

This incident was a turning point in my life. It taught me that our perspective shapes our reality. I learned to embrace life with all its ups and downs, understanding that the power to overcome challenges lies within me. John, the homeless man with an indomitable spirit, changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. His resilience and positivity continue to inspire me, reminding me that life is less about the circumstances we find ourselves in, and more about how we choose to respond to them.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Happy studying!

My Most Embarrassing Moment Essay: Don't Be Shy To Tell

By: Henrique Bertulino

My Most Embarrassing Moment Essay: Don't Be Shy To Tell

Did you know that stories about awkward moments make people more creative? This fact was discovered by researchers from the Kellogg School of Management. As the authors of the study explain, voicing embarrassing situations, a person removes the barrier of self-censorship and is ready for non-standard solutions. That is why high school teachers often give the assignment to write an embarrassing moment essay to their students.

My Most Embarrassing Moment Essay Sample

1. delve into the nature of the essay, 2. opt for the exact story, 3. a strong hook is a good start, 4. draw an outline, 5. describe, don't tell, 6. write an insightful conclusion, pay attention.

Just like the peer-reviewed articles, it was one of my friends' birthdays. My friend wanted to celebrate the day beautifully, so he invited many people. Actually, his birthday was October 21st. What happened in my mind I don't know—I just forgot the date and as you know, these happened long past, and we did not have the facilities of mobile phones, and the only way of communication distantly was a landline, and unfortunately, I did not have any landline in my house. Another problem happened that the school was also closed on some occasions. Because of that, I had no regular communication with my friends. I remember the date as October 22nd, though the date was one day behind. I prepared for the day's celebration and bought an expensive gift for my friend, which I felt would pass for a proper my most memorable moment essay.

While I was buying the gift for my friend, he and our friends were celebrating the birthday because the date was October 21st. As I thought the date was October 22nd, I went to my friend's house with the gift. At first, my reaction was very awkward because I saw neither anybody nor any festive look there. I did not understand what happened there, why there was nothing special—thinking that I just tapped on the calling bell of my friend's house. Hearing the bell, my friend's mom opened the door and became amazed to explore me with a gift. She said, "Hi, how are you? Why didn't you come yesterday?" I became perplexed, and I asked her what happened. She replied that yesterday was my friend's birthday. Suddenly, my friend, Jimmie, came out and scolded me for not participating in the birthday celebration. I became dumbfounded and explained everything. He was convinced and served me some slices of his birthday cake and other foods which were prepared on his birthday. I was just embarrassed in front of two people—my friend and his mom. I did not know that the worst thing was waiting for me the next day.

Furthermore, I thought that my embarrassment had ended there, but it did not. I think it was all for the success of my most embarrassing moment essay. The next day, I went to school and noticed that some of my friends were laughing at me. I didn't ask why they were behaving like that, but I was beginning to understand. When I entered the classroom, everyone just burst out laughing. Everyone already knew about my mistake with my friend's birthday. It is difficult to describe in words what I felt at that moment. But it really was the most embarrassing moment I have ever experienced.

Embarrassing Moment Essay: What To Pay Attention To and What Not To Miss

Each of us has experienced some embarrassing moments in our lives. Such moments usually make us laugh or, conversely, sad. At such moments we remember. It's not always pleasant to tell someone, but sometimes it can be your task in high school. How to overcome shame and competently and interestingly tell the reader about your embarrassing incident?

6 Tips On How To Create Your Embarrassing Moments Essay

You will describe the most embarrassing moment in the form of a personal narrative essay. What is a personal essay? There are many good definitions of this type of essay, but what we like most is this:

A personal essay is a short autobiographical story that includes some life situations that characterize you in a certain way. This type of writing involves a creative approach, and therefore it can have a free essay structure. In an experience essay, a person tells something very personal, even intimate. It is full of excitement and emotions. At the end of the embarrassing moment essay, the author analyzes how they were affected by a situation, whether it changed them or not.

"Embarrassing moments of my life" is your unique story. However, such moments happen in everyone's life—in school years or in adult life. It can be a story about the first day in a new team, an awkward event on holiday, a story about when you did not complete an English task, or how you forgot a new friend's name. Close your eyes and remember the same story that made you go through a storm of emotions. That's what you need to put on paper. Here's what the following stories might look like:

"It was in 2000, when I was 20 years old. Before I didn't have any plane journey, so it was the very expected thing for me. The same day came—the day of my first flight. So I got a little excited and arrived at the airport. I took my seat, and it was just beside a window because I like to look outside.

I really wanted to breathe fresh air outside. So I started looking for a way to open the window. But I failed to do so. I noticed that some of the passengers looked at me in great surprise. But I saw a hostess nearby. I asked her where the window locks so that I can open it. Hearing that, many passengers started smiling. I realized that something went wrong, and I felt shy. The air hostess was polite enough to reply to me by just saying Sir, the windows of a plane can not be opened because of the risk factor. I immediately understood that it was very embarrassing. The journey was around one hour long, and all the way, and I could not look at other passengers as I felt so shy."

"My most embarrassing experience" essay should interest the reader from the first words. Find the same hook that will immediately catch the audience. Here are some good hook essay examples:

"Once, a "grandfather" came to me for an interview for a digital marketer, who had completed all Google and Facebook courses on the recommendation of his daughter, but absolutely did not understand the task, my slang, and why everyone in the office was three times younger."

"Once, the candidate asked his best friend (a good specialist) to go for an interview instead of himself. He went and ... got a job and worked there successfully."

In the introduction, you set the tone and reveal the topic of your essay.

Although an essay on an embarrassing thing does not have a clear organizational structure, you should still organize your thoughts. Just write on a piece of paper what and how you will write about. The introduction should include a hook and a statement. Describe the situation in the body of the paper, and in the end, tell how it affected you.

"I was ashamed."

"This situation made my voice tremble. My knees buckled, there was a lump in my throat. I want to get out of there as soon as possible. It wasn't me, I never felt so embarrassed."

Feel the difference between these two examples? Your task is to write as shown in the second version. You can't just write how you felt, you need to try to describe your condition as vividly as possible. The reader must imagine the full picture and feel what you felt.

A good conclusion gives the reader a sense of completeness. You can return to your lead to complete the circle. Repeat your statement to end the story that changed you.

It happens that you have something to say, but you can not properly arrange it. In such cases, it is better to seek professional help in the essay writing service. You need to remember that your work must be free of plagiarism and written in an appropriate format (APA, MLA, Chicago). Professional writers will ensure compliance with all these requirements.

It was helpful. Now I am able to understand the topic

This guide with embarrassing moment examples really struck a chord with me as someone who has difficulty writing about their own personal experiences. It gave me everything I needed to finally tackle a difficult topic and share it with others🙏

Thanks! I was able to take a potentially embarrassing topic of most akward moments of my life and turn it into a poignant, meaningful essay. The guidance and embarrassing stories of other people here helped me push past my fears and create something truly special..

So lovely i like the way and idea it makes sense to me and I will send it to my friends

PERFECT ESSAY THANK YOU SO MUCH

The same also happened to me and it was my sister's birthday, 22nd March and I also thought it was the 23rd, I'm glad I might be able to write mine too, a good start and finish

Feeling embarrassed sometime makes one to learn

Feeling embarrassed, something times make's one to learn

James Melody

my whole elementary school was a never ending embarrassment, jeez i was such an awkward child

Feeling embarrassed is such a funny thing tbh. You cringe so much at first but then it's the best story at the party lol

This has to be one of the most humorous essays of this genre I've come across. I also enjoyed how descriptive it was; it really accentuated the mental picture the writer was trying to paint for the reader. I find stories like this funny and intriguing. Essays that have to do with the embarrassing incident, like this one, can be one hell of a good read. My favorite part has to be the conclusion where the whole class burst out laughing.

I can easily relate to being embarrassed on several occasions. Perhaps, that's what growing up is all about. I didn't know that writing about such moments ever led to creative ideas. As a student, I always feel that college is the best place to enjoy life. Still, the same place is home to many embarrassing experiences. After reading this blog, I understood why teachers emphasize essays about personal episodes. In my life, I have always written a narrative of such moments in a personal diary or as instructed by my English teacher.bIt's great to know these tips. I believe they will help me accept my shortcomings deeply.

Writing is always such a struggle in high school, even on such a creative topic like this one. The information was really helpful. Thank you so much.

If I didn't come around this article, I would spend my whole spring break fruitlessly trying to write even a draft. I've had enough awkward moments in my life, and I will never forget how once I fell through the ice during Christmas vacation. Now I know exactly how to start and finish my story. So perfect, thank you.

Telling Short, Memorable Stories From Your Life: ‘My Secret Pepsi Plot’

An invitation to students to tell a meaningful story in a limited number of words, with an example from The Times’s Lives column to help.

essay about a strange incident

By Katherine Schulten

Our new Mentor Text series spotlights writing from The Times that students can learn from and emulate.

This entry, like several others we are publishing, focuses on an essay from The Times’s long-running Lives column to consider skills prized in narrative writing. We are starting with this genre to help support students participating in our 2020 Personal Narrative Essay Contest .

Our Personal Narrative Essay Contest is inspired by The New York Times’s Lives column, which ran from 1996 to 2017 and featured “short, powerful stories about meaningful life experiences .”

The editor of the column once posted some advice on “How to Write a Lives Essay” to guide those who submitted to the column annually. Much of that advice applies to our contest as well.

For example, several points boil down to reminders to keep it simple, including tips like:

Don’t try to fit your whole life into one “Lives.”

Don’t try to tell the whole story.

Tell a small story — an evocative, particular moment.

Better to start from something very simple that you think is interesting (an incident, a person) and expand upon it, rather than a large idea that you then have to fit into a short essay. For example, start with “the day the Santa Claus in the mall asked me on a date” rather than “the state of affairs that is dating in an older age bracket.”

This advice is similar to advice often given to high school seniors writing college essays : You have only 650 words to show admissions officers something important, interesting or memorable about who you are and what matters to you. A list of awards you’ve won won’t do it, but an engaging story about making brownies with your stepbrother just might.

Narrative Essay: I Saw the Weirdest Thing

In my narrative essay, I explain how I had a paranormal experience, and then I debunk my own story as I show how my paranormal experience was actually a simple technical glitch.

If you look on social media and on websites, you will find plenty of examples of ghosts and such. Some of them are obviously doctored photos, and others are simply flashes of light that have reflected within the camera lens. Then there are lights in the sky, which may be explained by anything from drones and Chinese lanterns, to experimental aircraft and balls of lightening. My story revolves around my CCTV system that is set up in my house.

I have a total of eight cameras, with some in rooms within my house and some outside pointing at my garden. In my living room, I have two monitors that show me what is going on within my house and outside.

As I was looking over the footage of myself sat in my living room, I noticed balls of light that circled me and moved around me. I was in the dark when I was being recorded, and the only light source was my TV. My cameras have night vision on them that create a grayscale image of what is going on. On the grayscale images, I could clearly see lights circling me and moving in front of and behind me.

After reviewing the images over and over again, I was sure I had proof of some form of ghost. There were no light sources in the room at the time, no holes in my curtains, and nobody else was in the house. I finally had proof of ghosts on video.

Just to double check, I checked my camera. It is mounted on the roof in my living room. I checked the camera and it was fine, so I replaced it and turned off the light. I tried to recreate the same situation again and again, but I failed to spawn any ghosts right away–until one night when I was staring at my monitor.

While staring, I noticed the lights appear in the corner of the room, even though there were no lights in that location. I waved my hands near the lights, but they simply moved away. I then moved closer to my camera and noticed–midges.

When my cameras switch to night vision, they give out a very distinct blue and red light. It is only a shallow light that doesn’t really illuminate. What had been happening is that the tiny flies had been attracted to the light because it was the only light source in the room. As they flew past the camera, it picked them up and projected them onto the image. The camera couldn’t focus on something that was so close, in the dark, and so small, so it interpreted them as small balls of light.

When the lights were circling me on the first piece of footage, they were not actually circling me; it was the midges flying in tight circles around the CCTV lights. Even when you are sure you have proof of something, you have to check and keep checking. You have to use a negative bias and continually try to prove yourself wrong, but there is usually a simple explanation for most paranormal experiences.

Model Answer 1

A pivotal moment that redefined my life occurred during the summer of 2018, in the serene surroundings of a mountain retreat. This life-altering event was not marked by grand fanfare; instead, it was a quiet realization during a meditation retreat. The change was profound yet subtle – it was the embracement of mindfulness and a newfound appreciation for the present moment.

Before this experience, my life was in constant fast-forward, with my mind perpetually racing from one worry to the next. It was during a session of guided meditation, enveloped by the tranquil mountain air and the gentle rustling of leaves, that I experienced a profound sense of peace. This tranquility was not merely the absence of noise; it was an awakening to the beauty of the present.

This transformation has had lasting effects on my life. Embracing mindfulness has allowed me to approach daily challenges with calmness and clarity. Stressful situations, which previously overwhelmed me, now seem manageable as I have learned to maintain a composed and focused mind. This change has enhanced my interpersonal relationships as well; I listen more attentively, respond more thoughtfully, and appreciate the nuances of communication. Moreover, this shift has positively influenced my career, where the ability to remain present and composed under pressure is invaluable.

In essence, the change was not just in my actions, but in my perspective. The realization that living in the moment is not just a phrase, but a transformative practice, has been the cornerstone of this positive shift. This journey towards mindfulness has not only enriched my personal experiences but has also imbued me with a sense of serenity and purpose, attributes that have significantly enhanced the quality of my life.

PSLE Composition Theme An Unusual Incident

Using the theme correctly is important in composition writing. It is easy for even good writers to lose track of the theme even a little and marks can be subtracted.

During the planning stage of this composition , I had to ask students to change their plots more often than not.

I did not accept plots that were not ‘unusual’. For example finding a someone else’s name on your birthday cake.

The key focus was on the word  unusual  or  out of the ordinary.

In this composition, my student had followed the brief given. The usual calm setting was a bit eerie, the character was dressed unusually and the object found was scary and unusual.

We decided that there was no need to provide an explanation to the unusual incident in the conclusion, as long as she had written the plot realistically.

I felt that she had done an excellent job with her descriptions as well as manipulating the themes. I hope that you enjoy reading this composition as much as I enjoyed marking it 🙂

The model compositions in this blog are to help students generate ideas and to be used as a guide. Students are not allowed to copy the model compositions and then pass them off as their own work, especially in school. It is called plagiarism.

PRIMARY 6:  AN UNUSUAL INCIDENT

I quickened my steps as I warily eyed my surroundings.  The birds positioned on the lush, green trees were not chirping merrily as usual.  The air around me was stifling.  Looking at the long, winding lane, I was reminded of the fact that I had to walk through this deserted park with nobody to help me, should anything go wrong.  I always took the same route back home after school, but today the park seemed particularly  unusual  as it gave off an eerie feeling, making me shudder my shoulders unwittingly.

Just then, I noticed an  odd  lady walking along the lane in front of me.   Strangely , she seemed to be gliding, shuffling and dragging her feet on the ground all at the same time.  Her waist-length hair was grey and especially tangled.  Her long nails with dirt in between were yellowed with age and the wrinkles and folds on her arm reminded me of the witch in my fairytale book, although she did not have a broom with her or carrying a pot of frog stew around.  There were no other passersby around.  Despite my belief that witches were non-existent, I did not want to take any chances and decided to use the longer, but supposedly “safer” route to go home.

I heaved a sigh of relief as I walked along the other lane.  To my horror, I closed my eyes for a millisecond to blink and when I opened them, the same lady who I had seen earlier appeared in front of me again!  Cold sweat began to drip down profusely from my forehead as I tried to take deep breaths to calm myself down.  My heart rate increased almost instantly and my eyes widened in shock.  How could such  a weird incident  like this happen in broad daylight?

Just as I was about to faint in anxiety, the “witch” turned her head slightly to look at me.  Her nose was crooked, ugly warts dotted her lopsided face.  Surprisingly, her eyes were a beautiful crimson blue, which resembled the gorgeous ocean waters.  For a moment, I was in awe of this woman who I had earlier labelled as evil and ruthless.  However breathtaking her eyes were, they seemed to tell a sad story.  Her eyes looked lonely and desperate, as if she was deprived of something she once loved very dearly, and was calling out for help.

She turned back quickly and hastened her steps.  As she moved, something black dropped out of her bag.  I picked up the black object and realised it was a book.  Curious, I leafed through the pages, but like its cover page, they were painted plain black.  I then looked up to return the book but the lady had disappeared, vanished into thin air and she was nowhere to be seen.  Traumatised by the incident, I left the book where it had fallen and ran back home.

That night, I could not sleep.  This  unusual incident  left me perturbed and anxious.  I never told anyone what had happened that day.  Who was this lady?  What book was that?  Nobody will ever know.

Sample Answer 1

One unforgettable funny incident that happened to me occurred during my first year of college. It was the time of our annual fest, and the atmosphere was charged with excitement. My friends and I had volunteered for the event's organization, and we were bustling around, making sure everything was in place for the evening's performances. In the midst of this chaos, I was assigned the task of arranging the props on stage for the drama competition.

Eager to impress, I decided to speed things up by carrying more props than I could handle. As I strutted across the stage, laden with an assortment of items, I didn't notice a banana peel (a prop for one of the plays) lying in my path. In what seemed like a scene straight out of a slapstick comedy, I stepped on the peel and performed an unintentional acrobatic display, ending with a spectacular fall, props flying everywhere.

The audience, which had started to gather for the next performance, erupted into laughter. For a moment, I lay there, stunned, before joining in the laughter myself. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated humor, reminding everyone that sometimes, it's the unplanned moments that bring the most joy.

Follow-up Questions and Answers:

Q1: How did you feel immediately after the fall?

A1: Initially, I was mortified, fearing I had ruined the props and embarrassed myself in front of a crowd. However, the laughter from the audience and my friends helped me quickly see the humorous side, and I ended up laughing at myself too.

Q2: What was the reaction of your friends?

A2: My friends were initially concerned but soon burst into laughter upon realizing I was unhurt. Their teasing about my 'stage debut' became a running joke throughout college.

Q3: Did this incident change your approach to tasks?

A3: Absolutely, it taught me the importance of not overburdening myself and the value of taking things one step at a time. It was a humorous lesson in balancing enthusiasm with practicality.

Q4: Do you often recall this incident?

A4: Yes, it's become a cherished memory among my college friends and me. It serves as a reminder not to take life too seriously and to find humor in mishaps.

Q5: Would you say this incident helped you grow?

A5: Definitely. It was a humbling experience that taught me the importance of resilience and finding joy in life's unexpected moments.

Sample Answer 2

Another humorous incident that comes to mind happened during a family holiday in the mountains. My family decided to take a hike to a nearby waterfall, renowned for its breathtaking beauty. Armed with snacks, water, and my trusty camera, I was determined to capture every moment of this adventure.

As we reached the waterfall, I spotted the perfect rock to take a photo from. It was slightly away from the path and offered an unobstructed view of the waterfall. In my excitement to get the perfect shot, I failed to notice that the rock was slick with moss. As I triumphantly stepped onto it, my feet slipped out from under me, and I found myself plunging into the shallow water below.

The shock of the cold water took a moment to register before I surfaced, spluttering but unharmed. My family, after ensuring I was okay, couldn't contain their laughter. There I was, soaked to the bone in the middle of our hike, with nothing dry to change into. The rest of the day saw me squelching along in my wet clothes, a constant reminder of my misadventure.

Q1: What was your initial reaction to falling into the water?

A1: I was shocked and a bit embarrassed, especially since I prided myself on being careful. The cold water was a surprise, but I quickly found the humor in my situation.

Q2: How did your family react to this incident?

A2: After ensuring I was safe, my family erupted into laughter. They teased me for my 'dramatic' way of cooling off and ensured the incident was well-documented with photos.

Q3: Did this incident impact your enthusiasm for photography?

A3: Not at all. If anything, it reinforced my passion for capturing life's moments, albeit with a bit more caution towards where I stand.

Q4: Is this a memory you cherish from your trip?

A4: Absolutely. It's a funny story that we often reminisce about when talking about our travels. It reminds us of the fun and unpredictable nature of family trips.

Q5: What lesson did you learn from this experience?

A5: The biggest lesson was to always be aware of my surroundings and maybe to not go to great lengths (or depths) for the perfect photo. It also taught me the value of laughter and not taking myself too seriously.

essay about a strange incident

It was a dark night with me living all alone in the deserted house in the middle of the forest when suddenly, I was distracted by the knock at the door which was heard from the living room till the balcony where I was reading an interesting storybook. I left the room in the thought that my parents were back from the party. I couldn't attend the party as I had exams and had to prepare for them. But something different happened when I opened the door. What I saw another image apart from my parents. Guess what; it was an old lady with a basket full of vegetables along with a small girl. The lady looked kind and honest but the girl looked naughty by her nature as she was pulling the saree of the lady.

I gave them a glass of water each as they looked thirsty and asked who they were. The lady said that they went to a vegetable market to buy carrots and potatoes. On their way back home they lost their way as the little girl ran behind her ball that rolled too long. I made them feel comfortable at my house and asked whether they want to have something. Even though they refused I offered them a piece of bread and asked them to sleep. I sat there for a while and thought about how to find their way back home when I found something strange about the little girl. I left this topic and went back to my room to continue reading the book which I was reading. Then after an hour, there was a knock again at the door. This time was for sure that they were my parents who knocked on the door. So, I ran down in a hurry to say what I have done and get appreciated. But, when I opened the door it was a police officer. I was taken aback at his arrival and realised that my guess was wrong again.

In the state of confusion, I asked him politely the reason for his arrival at this particular time. He showed me a picture of two persons and asked whether I knew them. To my astonishment, the pictures shown were the old lady whom I thought to be kind and the little girl who was naughty. I thought for a minute and asked him whether their family members gave a complaint to them that they were missing and said him that I know them as they came in the evening to my house because they lost their way back home. But, I was mistaken by this thought.

I was informed by him that they were the richest thieves among all. He told me how they used to rob the houses in the night and escape in the morning. They used to come in the getup of an old lady and a little girl and make the people believe that they are good, kind and honest. I was shocked by listening to this. He asked me to say where they were. I showed him the spot where they were sleeping. But by the time we reached there they escaped. But, the inspector called the other policemen to catch those two. ALAS! The old lady and the little girl were caught. But a doubt cracked my brain and so I asked the inspector is the little girl real. He said to me that she was a dwarf.

I thanked the police for his arrival at the correct time. Then I realised not to trust anyone according to their ages. Now I understand why the little girl appeared different. Now nothing has been stolen from my house and I was safe. At that moment my bubble of happiness burst.

A VERY STRANGE EXPERIENCE

A VERY STRANGE EXPERIANCE

Everyday   every one of us goes through many incidents. Most of them we forget easily. But sometimes we willingly or unwillingly go through some totally strange incident that we couldn’t forget easily. Now I’m going to tell about such an incident experienced by me.

A few months ago we our whole family went on a visit to one of our relatives house at village. The natural beauty of that village charmed me and the house was beautiful. So, we decided to stay there for a few days. The house was spacious and had plenty of rooms in it. So, every one of us was given a single room to stay. We reached there a little bit early at the day and for that reason after setting our rooms and getting fresh, I went to visit the countryside.

The owner of that house had a big garden of various trees and flowers. So, to get outside of the house one has to pass a long way on foot through the garden. As I don’t go to village often I enjoyed my surroundings greatly. I saw peoples working on field, kids playing on ground, flying kites, women working in their house etc. Though there was no touch of modern facilities in their life and they are struggling in their life, everyone seemed so much happy. By the time I had no trace of time. When I remembered to go back to house it was almost evening. I hurried to get back to that house because if it get dark I may lost the way. On my way back a strange old lady stopped me and asked me from whom house I’m coming from. I answered her and hearing the housekeepers name the lady stared at me with such a flaming eye that at that time I get a little bit frightened and leave that place immediately.

When I was entering the house it seemed me darker as there was many bushy tree in the garden. When I crossed the garden area and closed to the house it seemed to me that this was not the house that we came to visit. What I saw was a big broken palace. At first I thought that I might come a wrong way and find a wrong house but the garden and the way through which I came was the same. So, it can’t happen. Then I began to get frightened. I closed and open my eyes several times thinking that the house will change to its former view but in vain. Then I became infatuated. I walk through the main door of that house. Inside there was no light and nobody in that house. It was as silent as a graveyard. I was going from room to rooms. Suddenly I saw a little girl in bright white dress was playing in the hall room. I asked her that what she was doing in that house lonely. Hearing my voice the girl started laughing and running through the corridors. I also ran behind her but couldn’t get the girl. The girl suddenly stopped in front of one room and asked me to go with her and enter the room and I followed her. As soon as I entered the room the girl vanished leaving a bright white glow behind that I couldn’t see anything through it. When the glow lessened I saw with sheer horror that all around me were a mass of human skulls and bones. Seeing this I screamed in my utmost high voice and then I couldn’t remember anything.

The next day when I woke up I saw the tensed face of my family. All of them were praying to god for me to get well. The very next moment we packed our bags and leave that house.
