An updated review of prior empirical studies is overdue, given system-wide digitalization. This article systematically reviews empirical studies on digital leadership in higher education between 1999 and 2022, its value, focus and the research methods involved.
A Digital Leadership framework is developed to define Digital Leadership; and further develops a Digital Leadership Conceptual Model to explain Digital Leaders influence on digital transformation processes.
First, the current research extends the leadership literature by identifying leadership roles appropriate to the leadership challenges associated with digital transformation. Second, the current research develops and introduces a measurement scale for the identified leadership roles.
This study seeks to evaluate whether the Pillars of Digital Leadership, defined below, is an effective set of guidelines for principals in their role as technology leaders. Specifically, I will measure the alignment of principals' with the Pillars of Digital Leadership and explore how those the pillars associate with technology use by teachers in
leadership effectiveness in virtual team environments (Mawanda, 2012). Moreover, other predictor variables, such as diversity and team longevity predict employee job satisfaction and leadership effectiveness (Mawanda, 2012, p. 157). I explored the impact of leadership on the success of GVTs, their motivation, and
