Going Green Essay Example

Go green essay introduction, going green essay main body, going green essay conclusion.

What can you do to save the environment? Keep reading to find out! Learn about the importance of going green with this essay on go green to save environment and take your essay writing on the next level.

Currently, there is evidence of extreme weather changes and global catastrophes due to global warming, environmental pollution, erosion, depletion of natural resources, and diminution of the ozone layer. As a result, the planet earth is dying little by little because studies show that the plants, animals, rain forests, and water sources that were once the definitive characteristic of different ecosystems are no more (Greenberg 86).

Therefore, there is the paramount need for man to take bold steps in terms of conserving the environment, and guaranteeing the survival of the present and future generations. Thus, the spirit of going green entails getting different people in the world to become aware of their decisions and activities that hurt the environment and the world at large (Greenberg 87). This essay presents a discussion on the various steps individuals can take to go green, and the importance of Go-Green programs in conserving the limited natural resources for future generations.

Therefore, relative to the current global climatic and economic changes, there are several simple steps that each individual should take to enhance environmental conservation. Here, environmental conservation begins with an individual’s initiative to conserve the immediate environment such as at home.

These individual initiatives can then extend to the workplace, the national level and finally to the global arena (Greenberg 88). As a result, going green at home entails saving energy through compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), switching-off all lights before leaving home, using power bars to switch-off idle electronics, and purchasing energy-efficient appliances.

These activities are beneficial to nature in terms of lowering energy consumption rates per household, and as a result, the total energy savings in different homes can contribute to low rates of energy consumption at the national level (Greenberg 89).

Another bold step in going green entails saving water at home and at the workplace. Here, it is advisable for one to take shorter showers, use low-flow showerheads and toilets, use delay-timers on the dishwashers, and planting drought-resistant flowers and plants in the garden.

Subsequently, individual initiatives in conserving water play a major role in contributing to conservation of natural water resources at the national and global levels.

Furthermore, individuals can play a central role in controlling environmental pollution through walking more than using motor vehicles, and using renewable energy resources such as biogas instead of fossil fuels. Overall, these two initiatives are imperative to environmental conservation because they reduce the carbon footprint in the environment (Greenberg 90).

Conversely, many critics of Go-Green programs have raised concern over the overall implications of going green on the environment and the economy in general. Here critics argue that individual initiatives in conserving the environment may not have any significant impact in the global arena.

Furthermore, these groups of people posit that some initiatives proposed by Go-Green programs may hurt the global economy through reducing profitability because most of these initiatives entail advising people to refrain from buying and using certain commodities such as fossil fuels and plastic bags (Greenberg 95).

However, looking at the idea of going green from a wider perspective, it is obvious that the overall positive implications of Go-Green programs outweigh the negative implications. For instance, apart from these initiatives rallying for conservation of natural resources such as water, forests, oil, and other energy resources, they also contribute to environmental conservation though indirectly.

Furthermore, through clean and more sustainable environments, which provide unlimited natural resources to all inhabitants, it is probable that the world population will increase due to low mortality rates, and increased rates of life expectancy. As a result, there will be additional workforce, which translates into economic growth.

This essay presents a discussion on various ways of going green and the overall importance of Go-Green programs. Therefore, the discussions above show that going green entails being aware of one’s activities and decisions that can hurt the environment and the world at large.

In addition, the essay provides various initiatives, which can be undertaken by individuals at home and the workplace to mitigate environmental pollution and wastage of natural resources.

Therefore, it is obvious that taking small steps at a time in terms of changing from different wasteful habits into less wasteful and more sustainable ones enable individuals to set an example that produces various changes at the national and global levels.

Furthermore, environmental conservation is no longer a choice but a responsibility that the current generations must fulfill to guarantee the survival of future generations.

Importance of Clean Environment Essay:

If this belief from heaven be sent If such be Nature’s holy plan Have I not reason to lament What man has made of man -W. Wordsworth

How true the above lines are! By ill treating nature, man is ill-treating and ruining himself. God created nature and his very purpose must have been for Nature to supplement the needs of humanity and he must have thought that man would be caring for and loving his benefactor. Nature obeyed God’s desire but man, his most intelligent creation totally disobeyed Him to the extent that today the whole universe is on the verge of extinction.

Long Essay on Importance of Clean Environment 500 Words in English

Below we have given a long essay on the Importance of Clean and Green Environment of 500 words is helpful for classes 7, 8, 9 and 10 and Competitive Exam Aspirants. This long essay on the topic is suitable for students of class 7 to class 10, and also for competitive exam aspirants.

In place of enjoying the beauty of nature, benefiting from her bounties, man in his greed and selfishness is looting and emptying its resources mercilessly. In consequence, air pollution, water pollution and the pollution of atmosphere are threatening to destroy mankind. It has led to the depletion of ozone layer and has made a hole in the ozone layer reducing earth’s capacity to protect life from ultraviolet radiation.

Initially air pollution began with the burning of wood for warmth, cooking and to make a safety ring from savage animals. It was prehistoric days when population was less and the land was big and vast, without any shortage of greenery.

Gradually population increased, civilization developed, and with these two factors, came the different uses of wood. Trees were cut, houses were constructed. Not only trees, many forests were also cut down. Nature’s resources were depleted in many other ways also.

Industrialization and mining also took nature’s bounties to their limit.

The seas and oceans are a major factor in the ecological balance and the creatures living there play an important role in this. Leakage from oil tankers happens regularly. This is not only polluting water but also killing the fish and other sea animals. Land based animals are no better. They are also suffering from man’s unlimited greed and cruelty and many species are becoming extinct.

Mankind has become its own enemy, and thus the foremost enemy of our planet. Air pollution results from the smoke and gases emitted from various industries. This has resulted in Acid Rain. There is no need to tell, how dangerous it is.

Unfortunately, people remained uncaring in the beginning. Only when the depletion of ozone cover took place, we woke up. Many years were lost in meetings, formation of committees and conventions. Now fifteen to twenty years back, we seriously started planning and implementing those plans. Here are some of those efforts how our atmosphere can be saved from being more polluted. Most of the energy used and generated is produced from coal, oil natural gas and uranium.

These energy sources pollute the air and water. Adoption of Solar system is the best solution for this. Another way is recycling. Garbage can be recycled, and the left-over waste can be used to generate electric power. In rural areas, dung and agricultural waste can provide household energy like ‘Biogas’.

Next is the delicate balance of sea and ocean levels around the world. Melting of ice bergs can raise the sea level and countries like Holland and Mauritius can be submerged. For this also planting trees and protection of forests is needed.

Below we have given a short essay on Importance of Clean and Green Environment is for Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. This short essay on the topic is suitable for students of class 6 and below.

There should be a balanced biodiversity. For our greed and selfishness, we kill numerous animals. Green peace is one organization which has a dedicated cadre and agenda to protect the environment . We need NGOs of this caliber all over the world.

Reduction of chlorofluorocarbon level used in air conditioning and refrigeration is planned so that ozone depletion can be checked. The meeting at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil attended by 117 countries all over the world, has tried to make a genuine start.

Automobile pollution is also being checked. With these efforts, we hope that our atmosphere will again become clean and human race will be able to continue enjoying Mother Nature’s bounties for a long time.

Essay on Understanding and Nurturing Our Environment

The environment is everything that surrounds us – the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil beneath our feet, and the diverse flora and fauna that inhabit our planet. It's not just a backdrop to our lives; it's the very essence of our existence. In this essay, we'll explore the importance of our environment, the challenges it faces, and what we can do to ensure a sustainable and thriving world for generations to come.

Our environment is a complex and interconnected web of life. Every living organism, from the tiniest microbe to the largest mammal, plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems. This delicate balance ensures the survival of species, including humans. For instance, bees pollinate plants, which produce the oxygen we breathe. Nature is a masterpiece that has evolved over millions of years, and we are just one small part of this intricate tapestry.

Importance of Environment

The environment is crucial for keeping living things healthy.

It helps balance ecosystems.

The environment provides everything necessary for humans, like food, shelter, and air.

It's also a source of natural beauty that is essential for our physical and mental health.

The Threats to Our Environment:

Unfortunately, our actions have disrupted this delicate balance. The rapid industrialization, deforestation, pollution, and over-exploitation of natural resources have led to severe environmental degradation. Climate change, driven by the increase in greenhouse gas emissions, is altering weather patterns, causing extreme events like floods, droughts, and storms. The loss of biodiversity is another alarming concern – species are disappearing at an unprecedented rate due to habitat destruction and pollution.

Impact of Human Activities on the Environment

Human activities like pollution, deforestation, and waste disposal are causing environmental problems like acid rain, climate change, and global warming. The environment has living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) components. Biotic components include plants, animals, and microorganisms, while abiotic components include things like temperature, light, and soil.

In the living environment, there are producers (like plants), consumers (like animals), and decomposers (like bacteria). Producers use sunlight to make energy, forming the base of the food web. Consumers get their energy by eating other organisms, creating a chain of energy transfer. Decomposers break down waste and dead organisms, recycling nutrients in the soil.

The non-living environment includes climatic factors (like rain and temperature) and edaphic factors (like soil and minerals). Climatic factors affect the water cycle, while edaphic factors provide nutrients and a place for organisms to grow.

The environment includes everything from the air we breathe to the ecosystems we live in. It's crucial to keep it clean for a healthy life. All components of the environment are affected by its condition, so a clean environment is essential for a healthy ecosystem.

Sustainable Practices:

Adopting sustainable practices is a key step towards mitigating environmental degradation. This includes reducing our carbon footprint by using renewable energy, practicing responsible consumption, and minimizing waste. Conservation of natural resources, such as water and forests, is essential. Supporting local and global initiatives that aim to protect the environment, like reforestation projects and wildlife conservation efforts, can make a significant impact.

Education and Awareness:

Creating a sustainable future requires a collective effort, and education is a powerful tool in this regard. Raising awareness about environmental issues, the consequences of our actions, and the importance of conservation is crucial. Education empowers individuals to make informed choices and encourages sustainable practices at both personal and community levels.

Why is a Clean Environment Necessary?

To have a happy and thriving community and country, we really need a clean and safe environment. It's like the basic necessity for life on Earth. Let me break down why having a clean environment is so crucial.

First off, any living thing—whether it's plants, animals, or people—can't survive in a dirty environment. We all need a good and healthy place to live. When things get polluted, it messes up the balance of nature and can even cause diseases. If we keep using up our natural resources too quickly, life on Earth becomes a real struggle.

So, what's causing all this environmental trouble? Well, one big reason is that there are just so many people around, and we're using up a lot of stuff like land, food, water, air, and even fossil fuels and minerals. Cutting down a bunch of trees (we call it deforestation) is also a big problem because it messes up the whole ecosystem.

Then there's pollution—air, water, and soil pollution. It's like throwing a wrench into the gears of nature, making everything go wonky. And you've probably heard about things like the ozone layer getting thinner, global warming, weird weather, and glaciers melting. These are all signs that our environment is in trouble.

But don't worry, we can do things to make it better:

Plant more trees—they're like nature's superheroes, helping balance everything out.

Follow the 3 R's: Reuse stuff, reduce waste, and recycle. It's like giving our planet a high-five.

Ditch the plastic bags—they're not great for our landscapes.

Think about how many people there are and try to slow down the population growth.

By doing these things, we're basically giving our planet a little TLC (tender loving care), and that's how we can keep our environment clean and healthy for everyone.

Policy and Regulation:

Governments and institutions play a vital role in shaping environmental policies and regulations. Strong and enforceable laws are essential to curb activities that harm the environment. This includes regulations on emissions, waste disposal, and protection of natural habitats. International cooperation is also crucial to address global environmental challenges, as issues like climate change know no borders.

The Role of Technology:

Technology can be a double-edged sword in environmental conservation. While some technological advancements contribute to environmental degradation, others offer solutions. Innovative technologies in renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture can significantly reduce our impact on the environment. Embracing and investing in eco-friendly technologies is a step towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Conclusion:

Our environment is not just a collection of trees, rivers, and animals; it's the foundation of our existence. Understanding the interconnectedness of all living things and recognizing our responsibility as stewards of the Earth is essential. By adopting sustainable practices, fostering education and awareness, implementing effective policies, and embracing eco-friendly technologies, we can work towards healing our planet. The choices we make today will determine the world we leave for future generations – a world that can either flourish in its natural beauty or struggle under the weight of environmental degradation. It's our collective responsibility to ensure that it's the former.

Go Green Essay 300 Words

Environmental issues and ecological imbalance in nature has resulted in the devastation of various natural resources that has ultimately posed risk to mankind and nature. Our planet earth is suffering from numerous problems like pollution, deforestation, global warming, climatic changes and much more. Therefore, it is crucial to devise some solutions to combat such problems and make the environment green and clean to survive happily. In other words, we can say that we should go green to help nature flourish and prosper.

So here are some ways which can help us go green and increase the green cover on the earth:

We should stop using plastic: Plastic is one of the major contributors to environmental pollution so it is important that we should stop using plastic and switch to wooden based material in our homes. Also, we must use jute or paper bags instead of plastic ones to reduce our plastic footprint on nature.

Recycle and reuse: We can always recycle and reuse products to reduce waste and decrease pollution levels in the environment such as old and discarded items can be used for décor and other purposes in the homes and offices.

Save water: We should conserve water by switching off taps, using a bucket of water for bathing instead of showers. Rainwater harvesting and watershed management are some of the other ways to conserve water.

Planting and saving trees: By using reusable items instead of using toilet papers and disposable towels, printing on both sides of the page, using hand dryers instead of paper napkins, we can contribute to saving a tree. Also, we must plant some green plants and trees around our houses to increase the green cover on the land.

Conserve energy: We must save electricity and use alternative sources of energy such as solar energy, wind energy and tidal energy to reduce the usage of non-renewable sources that take a lot of time to regenerate.

Thus, these are some of the ways to go green and make our earth look more green and clean. If the government and people should come together and take the above steps, we can achieve success in making this earth a healthy and safe place to live in.
