The objective of this thesis is to provide a deeper understanding of how e-government policies are implemented in an e-governance context, through empirical case studies in Sweden. The focus is on the local level. The overall research question is: How is e-government policy put into practice when focusing on the local level?
E-governance is the most widely used term for the result of this digital transformation in view of the changing nature of politics. This special issue zooms into digitalised public services by discussing practices and challenges in their provision, usage and evaluation.

This thesis sets out to answer the following central research question: what are the influences, challenges, benefits and costs of the Central Admission System (CAS) as an e-Governance initiative in improving undergraduates’ admissions service delivery and quality assurance in Tanzania’s higher education institutions?’
The primary goal of this thesis is to investigate a concrete and feasible plan for how to successfully transform the E-Government system in line with the evolution of technology.
This study investigated how effective e-governance is as an ASD mechanism to achieve SDI in local government. This study utilised a qualitative research approach, which included conceptual and theoretical analyses to inform the analytical framework.
