Step 2: Homepage

Your Discovery Education Homepage is where you find your preferred content, and instructional tools. It is personalized to the grade levels, subjects, and instructional interest you select.   | Learn more about your My DE Homepage . 

Step 3: Explore Channels

Featuring resources selected and curated by Discovery Education’s curriculum experts, Channels offer video clips, images, songs, articles, and more on many of Discovery Education’s most-searched topics. Channels are featured in your search results when a topic that has a Channel is entered in a keyword search. Step 4: Browse for Resources

Discover the best resources by subject area or curriculum standard all curated and personalized for your classroom. To find resources by subject as well as resources selected just for you, access the Explore tile from the Global Navigation menu in the top left. 

Step 5: Search for Resources

Search to locate video segments, images, songs, sound effects, encyclopedia articles, audio files, events, lesson plans, animations, clip art, and more. Search using a keyword term, a topic, or a curriculum standard. When results are displayed, you can narrow your results by filtering for grade level, resource type, or other characteristics like available instructional materials, closed captions, copyright date, publisher, and more.   | Learn more about searching for resources . 

Step 6: Bookmark and Organize Content

In addition to subscribing to Channels, as you discover resources to use right now or review later, Discovery Education offers two ways to bookmark resources for easy access in the future.

Favorites allows you to add resources to a list which is accessible from any page in the top menu. To add a video, song, image, exploration, or any other resource to your Favorites,  select the “+” on the resource.  | Learn more about Favorites .

Stream or download video content. Easy-to-use tabs provide quick access to smaller video segments, the video transcript, citation information, related materials, and other titles in the same series. Satellite image shows significant destruction of oil depot in southern Russia following Ukrainian drone strike

Satellite imagery obtained by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) shows three of the six fuel tanks burned down after a Ukrainian drone strike on an oil depot in Russia's Rostov Oblast overnight on June 18. The fire raged for three days.

Drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) hit two oil depots in the Russian region overnight on June 18, a source told the Kyiv Independent. Fires were reported at several oil storage tanks in the Russian town of Azov in southwestern Rostov Oblast.

According to the source, the drone attack targeted the oil depots Azovskaya and Azovnefteprodukt, where 22 oil storage tanks were located.

It took three days to extinguish the fire at the oil depot in Azov. One of the images taken afterward on June 21 shows that a half of the fuel tanks burned down.

In recent months, Ukrainian forces have launched a series of drone strikes aimed at damaging Russia's oil industry , the profits of which fuel Moscow's war efforts .

Ukrainian drones have also hit two oil depots in Russia's Republic of Adygea and Tambov Oblast overnight on June 20, a source in security and defense forces told the Kyiv Independent.

The Ukrainian military also reported about an attack on four oil refineries in Russia's Krasnodar Krai and Astrakhan Oblast overnight on June 21 as well as on sites where Russian Shahed-type drones are stored.

Rostov-on-Don , city and administrative centre of Rostov oblast (province), southwestern Russia . It lies along the lower Don River , 30 miles (50 km) above the latter’s mouth on the Sea of Azov .

The city was founded in 1749 as the customs post of Temernika, when the river mouth was still in Turkish hands. It then became a flourishing trade centre. Between 1761 and 1763 the fortress of St. Dmitry of Rostov was built there, and a town developed around it, near the Armenian settlement of Nakhichevan-na-Donu, which later merged with Rostov. In 1797 town status was granted, and in 1806 it was named Rostov-on-Don. Because of its key position as a transport centre and port, the town grew steadily with the 19th-century Russian colonization and development of the north Caucasus region and conquest of the Transcaucasia .

These functions remain of great importance. The Don River route to the interior was improved by the opening of the Volga-Don Shipping Canal in 1952, linking the town to the entire Volga basin; a dredged channel gives access to the sea. Rostov lies on road, rail, and oil and natural-gas pipeline connections between central European Russia and the Caucasus region. This nodal location and the nearness of the great Donets Coal Basin have led to major industrial development, especially in engineering. Two huge plants make Rostov the largest producer of agricultural machinery in Russia. Other engineering products include ball bearings, electrical and heating equipment, wire, self-propelled barges, road-construction equipment, and industrial machinery. There are ship and locomotive repair yards and a range of consumer-goods industries. Rostov State University was founded in 1917, and there are numerous other institutions of higher education and scientific-research. Pop. (2002) 1,068,267; (2006 est.) 1,054,865.
