एक दिन लोनपो गार ने अपने बेटे को सौ भेड़ें देते हुए कहा, “तुम इन्हें लेकर शहर जाओ। मगर इन्हें मारना या बेचना नहीं। इन्हें वापस लाना सौ जौ के बोरों के साथ। वरना मैं तुम्हें घर में नहीं घुसने दूँगा।” इसके बाद उन्होंने बेटे को शहर की तरफ रवाना किया।

लोनपो गार का बेटा शहर पहुँच गया। मगर इतने बोरे जौ खरीदने के लिए उसके पास रुपए ही कहाँ थे? वह इस समस्या पर सोचने-विचारने के लिए सड़क किनारे बैठ गया। मगर कोई हल उसकी समझ में ही नहीं आ रहा था। वह बहुत दुखी था। तभी एक लड़की उसके सामने आ खड़ी हुई। “क्या बात है तुम इतने दुखी क्यों हो?” लोनपो गार के बेटे ने अपना हाल कह सुनाया। “इसमें इतना दुखी होने की कोई बात नहीं। मैं इसका हल निकाल देती हूँ।” इतना कहकर लड़की ने भेड़ो के बाल उतारे और उसे बाज़ार में बेच दिया। जो रूपये मिले उनसे जौ के सौ बोरे खरीदकर उसे घर वापस भेज दिया। 

लोनपो गार के बेटे को लगा कि उसके पिता बहुत खुश होंगे। भगर उसकी आपबीती पर उन्होंने ध्यान नहीं दिया। वे उठकर कमरे से बाहर चले गए। दूसरे दिन उन्होंने अपने बेटे को बुलाकर कहा, “पिछली बार भेड़ों के बाल उतारकर बेचना मुझे जरा भी पसंद नहीं आया। अब तुम दोबारा उन्हीं भेड़ों को लेकर जाओ। उनके साथ जौ के सौ बोरे लेकर ही लौटना।”

एक बार फिर निराश लोनपो गार का बेटा शहर में उसी जगह जा बैठा। न जाने क्यों उसे यकीन था कि वह लड़की उसकी मदद के लिए ज़रूर आएगी। और हुआ भी कुछ ऐसा ही, वह लड़की आई। उससे उसने अपनी मुश्किल कह सुनाई, “अब तो बिना जौ के सौ बोरों के मेरे पिता मुझे घर में नहीं घुसने देंगे।” लड़की सोचकर बोली, “एक तरीका है।” उसने भेड़ों के सींग काट लिए। उन्हें बेचकर जो रुपए मिले उनसे सौ बोरे जौ खरीदे। बोरे लोनपो गार के बेटे को सौंपकर लड़की ने उसे घर भेज दिया। भेड़ें और जौ के बोरे पिता के हवाले करते हुए लोनपो गार का बेटा खुश था।

Most visitors will pass through Kemerovo Oblast on the Trans-Siberian Railway , which makes stops at (from west to east) Yurga, Taiga, Anzhero-Sudzhensk , Yaya , and Mariinsk.

There is an airport at Kemerovo ( KEJ   IATA ), with flights to/from Moscow , Krasnoyarsk , and in the summer: Anapa , Sochi and Khabarovsk .

Novokuznetsk also has an airport serving flights from Moscow (Domodedovo and Vnukovo Airports), Saint Petersburg , Tomsk and in the summer: Sochi , Krasnodar , and Anapa .

Rail is the most important means of transport in this industrialized region on the Trans-Siberian Railway . The most important junction town is Yurga, junction for the branch going south to Kemerovo .
